He had a nice upheaval in popularity until he got his ass kicked. He claims pain in one of his fists from punching too hard is the ultimate cause of his retirement.

If he had of continued boxing, he would have had more losses.

Extremely unorthodox fighter with fast hands that had a lot of power...as mentioned before he beat Kevin Kelly so it wasnt all bums...started being trained by Emanuel Steward which most now feel was a mistake because he made him a bit more orthodox which took away his main strength...was humiliated by Barrera...overall, he was "okay"...real deal? nah but he wasn't a bum

He fought Kelley and it was no cake walk for Naseem. Always liked Kelley, but by the time Hamed came over to the states to fight him, Kelley was already shot and been in many wars. HBO hand picked Kelley thinking it would be an easy fight for their new star.

I consider myself a boxing head, and I can name only two known fighters the man fought, Marco Antonio Barrera and Kevin Kelly.

Your memory probably better than mine on that one...you are correct...it wasn't prime Kelley

real deal..he was...dude ruled the featherweights in the second half of the 90-early00s and whipped every champion in that period..closest thing has anyone seen to an undisputed champ in that division..he beat a number of good feathers...unfortunate he fell out of love with boxing and it caught to him inthe barrera fight

Fake as fuck... HBO spent a lot of money trying to make him into a household name... Once he lost to Barrera, his bitch ass didnt have the heart to come back... Its mighty funny how he never fought Floyd... I wonder why.

hamed was a name and was the draw...he never fought floyd because they didn't fight in the same division lol..floyd was a high risk, low reward back then and was no draw

He had flaws yes but he most def COULD fight... and did beat some decent fights and or former champions like Boom Boom Johnson NOT a bum,Augie Sanchez was 27- 1 with 23 KO's NOT a bum,Kevin Kelly NOT a bum,Wilfredo Vázquez NOT a bum and Wayne McCullough def NOT a bum of whom at the time was in his prime 21 wins 1 loss and 14 KO's and Wayne was NO bum..s in the words of Roy Jones Jr.."Y'all Musta Forgot"

i used to fuck with naz!

he had a tripped out, wirey limberness to his fighting style that enabled him to punch you from all type of different angles that you'd never expect.

i liked him too because he was this giant showoff and he always had these elaborate entrances into the ring before the start of the fight!

Naseem Hamed (Arabic: نسيم حميد‎‎; born 12 February 1974), commonly known as "Prince" Naseem or "Naz", is a British former professional boxer who competed from 1992 to 2002.[2] He held multiple world championships at featherweight, including the WBO title from 1995 to 2000; the IBF title in 1997; and the WBC title from 1999 to 2000. He also reigned as lineal champion from 1998 to 2001; IBO champion from 2002 to 2003; and held the European bantamweight title from 1994 to 1995. Hamed is ranked as the 14th best British boxer of all time, pound for pound, by BoxRec.[3] In 2015 he was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

Hamed was known for his unconventional boxing antics and spectacular ring entrances which included entering the ring on a flying carpet, an lift, and a palanquin, as well as re-enacting the video of Michael Jackson's Thriller, and wearing a Halloween mask. He was also known for his front somersault over the top rope into the ring, his highly athletic and hard-hitting southpaw boxing style, and formidable one-punch knockout power; having finished his career with a knockout-to-win ratio of 84%.[4][5]
