Official NBA 2016-2017 Thread - 30 teams, 1 goal. 2 weeks left, so much can happen!!

Nah.. he would have been more respected if he did a sign and trade with the sixers where OKC got Embiid, Simmons, Saric, Jahlil and Noel, and Sixers get Durant! The whole world would have respected Durant then....

According to some of these Dudes, unless you don't demand all series go 7 games and all games are won on a last second you aint shit!! FOH!!!
Clearly Durant was not happy and now enjoying himself. Also, his goal along with Curry, klay and Draymond maybe to be the best team of all time instead of individual accolades.

People forget that KD has been "The Man" most of his life. Being "The Man" at this stage in his life probably means little to him now, as having fun and enjoying what he does is preferred.

At some point we all want to enjoy our lives and do things because we enjoy them.

That why I laugh at all this 'bitch move' nonsense, a Dudes quoting unwritten made up rules and shit! Actually quite hilarious reading quotes from people who for the most part have NEVER been anywhere near close to having to make that type of a decision but have a lot to say about that shit! Funny as fuck!

...and if you look at MOST of the players talking shit, ALL of them had come up just short type of careers, so say what they want, it's nothing but hate and hindsight is 20/20 regret type bullshit, so fuck those whiny motherfuckers too! I PRAY GS wins the chip this year and next, just to laugh my ass off at all the butt hurt quotes that will definitely follow, both here and from the sad sack whiny ass former players! KD did KD, And I for one am glad he did!

All that's is correct but I think the gonna be so efficient that they(Curry & Durant) will still put up monster numbers...curry gonna get his normal looks, Durant gonna get Barnes numbers and some of Green looks...that's just my think. I don't feel there's gonna be a drastic of a drop.

Even if CheatCode drop 2 points off his last yr average, he's still could be the top scorer. That's how crazy dude was last year.

LeBrons minutes are going to be cut and may not finish in top five scoring, however being that Durant and Curry are going to cut into each others votes many see Harden as a fraud, and if OKC plays the way they look in preseason, I don't think Westbrook is going to win many votes on a bad team especially with his reputation of being a selfish player, well then you have to say that LeBron could win it with less than spectacular numbers, especially if the Cavs are able to grab the top spot in the East...
I think after last finals most see him as the best player on the planer, once again, so he may get many residual votes from what he did last season, along with votes from people who refuse to vote Harden/Curry/Durant/Westbrook..
But overall I still think Paul George is at the right place at the right time, and is ready for a serious MVP run, but we shall see..

Westbrook selfish damn...

I really feel Lebron is coming in with a chip on his shoulder for whatever reason.
They asked his ass about the ceremonies for opening night, this prick said, "I never lost on ring night 2-0" (I get the point, but damn dawg)!!!

 folks stupid

Westbrook can win it, but his team is going to have to win in the process, because the last thing the voters want to see is their MVP fail to make the playoffs or get swept in the first round and gets made a fool of in the process... Most voters still remember Curry putting a number on Westbrook in the playoffs and before he gets any votes he is going to have to erase the memories of Curry getting the best of him, good luck with that..
Harden also has a similar problem in Houston..

Shit I thought Westbrook erased that last year and the year before when he play the last month of the season with players from the local rec league ...but I guess not

Harden might have monster numbers at a 5th seed

Vince Carter is currently the oldest active player in the NBA.

I also share the same thoughts about the wArriors

ESPN’s Jeff Van Gundy: Warriors could challenge 73-9, 33 in a row
A lot of NBA analysts are trying to figure out ways to pick apart the Warriors with the season at hand, but ESPN analyst Jeff Van Gundy isn’t one of them.

Van Gundy believes if the Warriors can manage to stay healthy, he has a hard time visualizing them losing any games.

“Listen, I don’t start the Warriors at 0-0,” said Van Gundy on an ESPN conference call Monday. “I start them at 82-0 and the few games that they’ll lose, we’ll just mark it down as they go along. This idea that it will take awhile for chemistry, I disagree with that. Great players like (Kevin) Durant, they can fit into any team. They know how to play, the players he’s going to play with know how to play.”

Van Gundy added that he thinks the Vegas over-under line he saw for 62 Warriors victories is way low.

“I’m like, `How could that team lose 20 games if they’re interested and healthy?’ ” he said. “I think they have a legitimate chance to break the (73-9) record. I think they have a legitimate chance to break the hallmark record of 33 in a row. I think they’re going to get on multiple runs, even if they aren’t playing guys huge minutes. I just think they’re going to be overwhelming talent-wise.”

Van Gundy said he hopes the Warriors will go on a quest for more records and “try to play to a standard of every-night greatness.”

Fellow analyst Mark Jackson, the former Warriors coach, sees no problems of the Warriors assimilating Durant, and he also sees no problems with Durant making the adjustment to a new club.

“I think there’s more than enough time for individuals to fit in,” Jackson said. “I think that’s an excuse. Great players find a way to fit in and understand systems. It’s not rocket science.”

Both Van Gundy and Jackson said that barring injuries, the Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers are very likely to face off for a third straight time in the NBA Finals. Van Gundy said the Cavaliers may be a bigger favorite to get to the championship round in the Eastern Conference than the Warriors are in the West.

Yeah he had some momentum back then but he lost a lot of it last season against a so called injured Curry lit his ass up beating them three games in a row, then turn around and see Irving to light up that same Curry beating them three games in a row.. Things like this leaves a sour taste in the minds of the voters that can linger on the next season.
Look if Westbrook's Thunder are to be one of the top three teams in the West and put up monster numbers he will win the MVP, his biggest problem is I doubt if he can do it..

Yea that's crazy...but I'm not doubting him...even if that team is a top 6 seed he gotta get major luv...

A stretch pf vs a center(well that's what I always though he was)
Man I can't tell who's the pf who's the center these days, I'm from the old school, where if your 6'10 or more you should be playing against the other teams center, but your right in this day and age they may not match up on the court..

I don't know if Cleveland is going to keep Jordan McRae but if I was a team thats in the need for a quick scorer, I'd inquire about him...

He really don't fit their system...

Cavs could look way different in a few months

McRae and Shum names been floating
