Link to the article please. This shit might be from Brietbart or Stormfront or both. I know for a fact that BON did better than movies with way bigger budgets and more screens this weekend.

Link please.
Ok, thanks for posting the link OP. The article says that the box office OVERALL IS TAKING A HIT BECAUSE OF HURRICANE MATTHEW....MEANING EVERYONE IS NOT HITTING THEIR NUMBERS.

Context is a muthafucka.

That's cold fam.

I understand but I have to keep it real all those interviews he did BEFORE the breakfast club were crippling him.

Right or wrong.

Many women and men....think he is a rapist. That ain't help the cause.
what did he say? i missed all this shit

How much did Django make?

They did a good job of fucking up this movie by not being able to talk about what happen almost 20 years ago every time this movie was mentioned

I'll probably see it tomorrow when this hurricane passes.

He did good on 60 Minutes also, but it's too late.

I wonder if he got with a PR firm after.

The number I highlighted in red is the per theater average. BON had the second highest per theater average out of the top ten movies this weekend and it wasn't even close.

The movie was in less theatres by a whole lot out of the the movies which are out except Queen of Katwe which was in even less which explains the numbers.

IMO He fucked up His early interviews on the subject.

“Seventeen years ago, I experienced a very painful moment in my life. It resulted in it being litigated. I was cleared of it. That’s that.”

That makes it sound lIke he's almost apologizing for something. In subsequent interviews he took a harder stance and specifically told the press that he was falsely accused but it was too late.

You best believe it had a huge effect. If it wasn't for bgol, i didn't even know it was debuting this weekend. Saw it last night thanks to bgol reminding me, took my girl with me.

You haven't seen a ton of commercials on it?

I don't even watch much network TV besides sports and I've seen a bunch

I don't know what some people's view of a flop is but the film broke even the first day. That's considered a success in every business model I can ever recall. With so many factors working against it, I think that's very promising. My $.02

The studio paid 17.5 mil for it, plus other cost like marketing. So no, it didn't break even.

Yep

Yep

When they talk about white films they compare it to the budget. You always hear "Blair Witch did 250 Mil with a 60k budget" for example. It always stipulations with black film numbers.

And even based on the other numbers, 10 mill day 1 is good, metric wise.
