And the way he died I don't like that but I get it. It makes his Mariah the powerful Vilian but shit I would've like to seen Cotton make a full season.
I didn't like that he died but people die in these Netflixx series so I got over it kind of. The way they do it, as you know as a Marvel Netflix watcher, is tackle origin stories for the next one.
This was basically Mariah's origin story so next year when she's in full Villain mode we gonna be like damn what happened to the woman who don't wanna know the details?
I agree but in my opinion Ali out acted Alfre (if that's a thing) shit he was the best actor on the show. He deserves a second go.
Side note : the Detectives,Rosario and Kehmah are beautiful.
There's no question who was the star performer of the show which goes into why we don't want to see him die. If he was just average or decent then we wouldn't even really be tripping.
But they could have made an adjustment once they actually saw the scenes...like OK I KNOW he's supposed to die but let's critically wound him and have him recover in the hospital for the rest of the season cause this dude has got to come back lol

Just got through watching it,I will be definitely watch this again.
The music,the cast,the setting,everything is perfect.
Marvel did an excellent job,I enjoyed this more than Daredevil and Jessica Jones..
I'm already looking forward to season 2
They should of kept Cottonmouth alive,he was my favorite character on the show.

I think he needs to be more prominent; his own series with real talent, and he and or his villians need to be central characters in a major crossover like civil war, secret wars, axis ect. Rather than yet another big crossover about Steve Rodgers, IronMan or Reed Richards.

It's crazy that you mentioned "The Wire",because when they first announced Luke Cage,the show runners says they were trying to make it similar but different from the Wire.
Now,I gotta watch the Wire,now this came out.

The women were beautiful and their roles were great at the same time.

It is done with the magic of 'green screen'…… filmed on a sound stage.
Imagine a room mostly filled with green material covering the entire walls & floor.
And the only part of the set that is actually ‘built’ is the rooftop where everyone is standing.
However, the entire building across the street, the city skyline… and the whole street below… and all the vehicles are fake.
The actor is pushed off the constructed set & sent sprawling out into the vast green area.
However, the guy is only falls down about 3-4 feet, if even that much.
The car he lands on.... is created with CGI / Visual FX.
Everything is composited together.
Like 'layers' in Photoshop.
This same technique has been used in Game of Thrones.
Here is the actual footage of what... 'the fall'... would look like, before the green screen is applied....

Now put these 2 scenes together…. And it gives you the HEIGHT of the FALL… plus the IMPACT of the LANDING (which is aided with the right sound effects, like glass breaking)…

Cottonmouth Throws Tone Off the Roof
Tone thought everything was all good,after telling Cottonmouth,Pops died from his stupidity
Tone made three mistakes:
The first one was deviating away from the plan,two was killing pop's and three acting like pop's was some total stranger....How the hell are you going to say, Pop's was a casualty of war when you know they grew up together.I understand,in most gangster movies the person that's in that lifestyle usually kills his childhood friend,but Cottonmouth understood Pop's wasn't in that lifestyle no more and really cared about him....
Call me crazy,but I've never live near Harlem in my life and I felt I was from there from the way they did this show...

One of the high points of Luke Cage was Misty Knight, Cage's no-nonsense ally on the New York Police Department. Knight is a celebrated character in the Marvel Universe and many fans were hoping to see the Marvel Cinematic Universe's version take steps to becoming more like her comic counterpart. This included Knight losing her arm, so she could gain a bionic replacement, just like in the comics.
In a recent interview with IGN, Simone Missick, who plays Misty Knight on Luke Cage, discussed how the show constantly teased fans with the possibility that Knight would lose her arm. " I think it was a great kind of teaser for the fans you know because everyone wants Misty to have that arm," Missick told IGN. "I’ve never seen anyone want me to lose an appendage more. So I think that they wanted to play with that and give people the ‘Will it happen or will it not?'"
In Luke Cage, Knight suffered a significant injury to her arm, but ended the season with both arms intact.
During the same interview, Missick also discussed a future teamup with Jessica Henwick, who will play Colleen Wing in Iron Fist. In the comics, Wing and Knight are close friends who form the Daughters of the Dragon, a crimefighting duo not unlike Iron Fist and Luke Cage's Heroes for Hire.
“I haven’t had a chance to meet Jessica yet, but I loved her on Game of Thrones," Missick said. "I know the fans are very vocal about the Daughters of the Dragon to have their own show…who knows what Marvel and Netflix are going to do. They don’t tell us anything because they know we’ll spoil it.”
Messick is confirmed to appear in Netflix's upcoming Defenders series, so perhaps Misty Knight will lose an arm and meet her best friend in that series. In the meantime, we'll have to wait until March 17, 2017 to see Colleen Wing in action on Iron Fist.

I don't think I quite appreciated this show enough until I just caught myself 3 episodes in to re-watching the whole season. This show has done what Dare Devil and Jessica Jones failed to do .... It got me to watch it more than once.
I wasn't a fan of JJ but I loved DD. Especially the stuff in the second season with The Punisher. And yet, I've never even thought about going back and re-watching those. Every aspect of Luke Cage was so compelling that I'm marathoning this 2 weekends in a row.
On a slightly different note: WHY THE FUCK is Raphael Saadiq - Angel not on the official soundtrack.
I need the full version of that song in my life.

I missed it the first time but think Tone might have been in on the robbery or was at least the inside man that leaked it was going down.

Finished the season just now. Great show. I enjoyed this more than Dare Devil. I appreciated the message they dropped at points. Hate Mariah and Shades got away free. That delusional ass doctor about to give diamond back super powers. Can't wait for season two or if Luke cameos Iron Fist.
