Can someone explain how in the hell they pulled off that toss off the roof scene?
To me that was the greatest effect of the series.

i wish they didnt kill off cottonmouth so quickly like they did.
Overall Marvel's on another level with their shit...
I hope they are working on another Luke Cage season
I'm loving this show and most seem to agree that Marvel and Netflix did a great job ... but given use of the n word, portrayals of gansters etc...I wonder if we would have viewed this show negatively, had it aired in BET.
Loved the blackness, the name dropping, the way they wanted to portray Harlem, the music, the gorgeous cast of women, especially Rosario!
But this show was cheesy. Terrible writing.
BGOL usually can spot bad writing, but not this time.
I saw cats rip shows and movies to shreds over bad writing on this board. But can't see it in this show?
Not a comic book fan so maybe I'm not seeing the bigger picture as some of you are but outside of showing our people in a better light than most shows and movies do, this show was very average. I hope season 2 will turn out better.
Oh and Theo Rossi should have not been cast for that role. He ain't got the Juice (pun intended)
explain, give examples. But this show was cheesy. Terrible writing.

curious to hear this thoughts. thus the word "discussion" in the threat title.Bruh, that man does not have to explain his reasons to you. Da fuck is y'all on???

^^^ Assist.
It is done with the magic of 'green screen'…… filmed on a sound stage.
Imagine a room mostly filled with green material covering the entire walls & floor.
And the only part of the set that is actually ‘built’ is the rooftop where everyone is standing.
However, the entire building across the street, the city skyline… and the whole street below… and all the vehicles are fake.
The actor is pushed off the constructed set & sent sprawling out into the vast green area.
However, the guy is only falls down about 3-4 feet, if even that much.
The car he lands on.... is created with CGI / Visual FX.
Everything is composited together.
Like 'layers' in Photoshop.
This same technique has been used in Game of Thrones.
Here is the actual footage of what... 'the fall'... would look like, before the green screen is applied....
Zombies Fall Off a Cliff… (skip to the 3:15 mark)
Theon Kills Myranda…. (skip to the 1:10 mark)
Now put these 2 scenes together…. And it gives you the HEIGHT of the FALL… plus the IMPACT of the LANDING (which is aided with the right sound effects, like glass breaking)…
And you get THIS……
Cottonmouth Throws Tone Off the Roof
I don't mind them killing off Cottonmouth.
Having him and The Kingpin would be redundant for the bigger picture.
I see The Defenders setting up Black Mariah as the political force while Kingpin runs the streets.
I disagree
that confrontation would have been what we ALL thought would happen in HEAT.
Cause he is NOTHING like Kingpin...but just like him.
That would have been ill.
Problem is kingpin is smarter, but Cottonmouth is more confident streets mart and charming and garners more loyalty.
Killing Cottonmouth made sense as far as the story goes...problem is the actor killed the role to such an extent that you end up missing Cottonmouth
Yeah I'm not going to lie...
Mahershala Ali killed it as cottonmouth.
I'm sure watching it NOW?
MARVEL rethinking that.
Purple man I understand was just way to powerful
But I would have kept Cottonmouth and Ben Urich.
I think if there is a lot of displeasure killing off Cottonmouth on social media, they might reconsider their actions...
she does...her funniest line when she went off in the interrogation room & called misty a trick...
& misty fired back ...Madam Inmate...lol
How in the hell are they gonna pull THAT off?
All i could think of is make it that he DID have a true love since the mama mabel days who practices either Haitian or Puerto Rican voodoo. Praying to the snake god.
She gets his body and revives him and he has powers but hates that he is a freak.
Yooooo
Finished it. LOVED it. So biblical.
Luke Cage more Jesus than Superman. Harlem is the garden of Eden and obviously Luke and Willis was Cain and Abel. But the damn snake in the garden...you got Cottonmouth and Diamondback, (snakes), but the most snake of them all...Shades. I wonder if that was a thing that he was the white dude that was the snakiest of them all between all these Black folks? Anyway...
Fucking fantastic. The songs...the scenes...the way it was shot, the acting...If Woodard don't get some kind of damn award. Black Mariah was on the fence the whole show until the end (is she sane? or a toe over the line of insane?) but I'm hoping that next time we get BLACK MARIAH. She gonna scare the shit out of everybody.
Now....eggs.
See, it's soooo much going on! That's why I love it. Shades don't know what he got himself into. I'm telling you, Mariah is going to end up being the crazy bastard chick you love you see get angry. They GOT to bring her back now that she is embracing her legacy.
That was another thing. Lots of mentions about 'legacy' and 'rules'. And then almost everyone disregarding legacy and breaking rules. Surprisingly though...for real...the one person who didn't want to break the rules (and I don't think did) was Cottonmouth. All the dirt he did and he didn't break the rules.
Is no one going to ask where Justin Hammer is?![]()
ehhh.....its cool
but damn...im just trying to get it done and over....
to me it fell off after cotton mouth died....
the whole story-line with willis....is garbage...im sorry
all this shit because his pops had a legitimate son?
ehhhh
You KNOW all Sharpton ain't like that diss.
The casting director who chose all these big bosom brown sugar babes needs a lifetime achievement award.
