Smoked Jamaican Jerk Chicken Is Taking Over Manhattan –Island spice grill

SF actually does have some great African, Carribean and soulfood just spots, they are just not in abundance like NY. The quality and the taste would rival any NY spot though.

No. SF can't win. What it has in Asian cuisine, it lacks in African, Caribbean & soulfood.

Chicago has great pizza & solid restaurants. Loses to NYC on the low end though.

This video pisses me the FUCK OFF!

I'm pissed because crackers act like they have discovered something that we as people of color have been doing for thousands of years.
instead of you clown niggas being happy for the nice black family who's getting media exposure, you're sitting here angry at absolutely nothing. I dont understood you guys here. I swear, it's as if you're miserable for the sake of being miserable.

The Chi has the best food of any city I've been to in the US. NY underwhelmed me other than the chinese food... but then again I only been there once. I find it hard to believe NY has more Jamaicans than Fl though.

Island people have been migrating to the NYC area since the early 20th century...Florida since the 70's...a lot of those Black folks from NYC that you think are straight Black American have some level of Island blood

NY pizza is terrible, sorry man. SF really has only 1 pizza spot I can fuck with, when it comes to any kind of South or Central american food though they got all the spots. The diversity of things to eat is very comparable to any big city. The other thing about SF is that there are not a lot of hole in the wall joints like Chicago and NY, most of the dining is mid to upscale. It does have its share of Michelin rated spots though.

I feel like SF and a few other cities kill it in one or two categories and well above avg in others where NYC kills it across the board from pizza slices & street food to Michelin rated high end spots...

the Jamaican/Caribbean food in Chicago be to fucking expensive sometimes.
But all the restaurants seem to have jacked up their prices over the years.

but Ive never tasted a good Jerk Chicken dish or Red Velvet cake.

Loooooove red velvet cake.
I put that shit in the freezer to get it kinda firm....thats its a wrap!!
you missing out

Proper Jerk is cooked with low heat over pimento wood.

thats the way they cook it in this carrib restaurant in the blues district that I went to.
So i guess Chicago is a part of the 1%

So white people have finally discovered jerk chicken. This is similar to when they discovered America. A land that already had a population of people and was already being used when they arrived. :smh:

nah cacs tend to stay around cacs for the most part..after sept 11 the great migration of cacs to minority areas begin..they started moving to black areas for safety reasons(american terrorist don't give a fuck about black areas as far as making news worthy noise)..than they started learning about bodega food, cheap eats, latin food, soul food, now west indian food..black cooks/eatery for whatever reason never fig out the concept of goin into cacland and getting bread from all those cacs..they starting to now..there's these cooks that be selling food on 116 st and 7th ave out in the street various times a week making mad bread off the neighborhood..if they were smart they get some flyers/bizz cards and run down to cacland and pass them out to have all them cacs migrate uptown to eat or overcharge their ass..if they opened up shop downtown they could charge double and make a killing off of cacs

The gap between NYC Jamaicans and south Florida Jamaicans is closing fast

NYC is still number one south Florida number two in the country

Shit in the 70s and 80s many yardies started in NYC ..then came to Florida

That's how my life started in the bx..then we moved to palm beach county

So BK got better Jamaican food than south Florida?
:cmonson:
MUCH better in restaurants -its not even close

This is true...was just addressing the statement that BK got more Jamaicans than South Florida...I dont think thats true
NYC metro area has more Jamaicans than South Florida...I don't think BK by itself has more though...I would rank BK Jamaican food higher
you don't understand the density of NYC - Brooklyn alone has 5x the population of Miami and Ft Lauderdale combined -gen pop-
so yeah - there are way more jamaicans in each individual borough of Brooklyn or Queens than all of south Florida.
Shit Linden Blvd in queens got more jamaican spots than ft. lauderdale or miami - Flatbush got more spots than all of West palm through to Miami

Because its not, Chicago and San Fran got food on smash !
:smh:- you can't go around the world in those cities like you can in NYC... the immigrant populations are not as dense - San Fran got asians.... but its not a gateway for the world like NYC is

SF actually does have some great African, Carribean and soulfood just spots, they are just not in abundance like NY. The quality and the taste would rival any NY spot though.
San Fran isn't a gateway on the scale of NYC
its more than those cultures- I can go around a block and get GOOD BBQ in all varieties, good Ethopian Thai Cuban Afghani Greek Vietnamese etc etc but here is the true measure - outside of Chinese and Japenese, your best spots for most of those cuisines are only are as good as the average cultural spots here. NYC bbq is good but our best spots are less in number and only as good as the average to better than average in KC NC Memphis and Tx

London has better Indian Pakistani and Thai food than NYC- some have argued that London is now better at Indian food than in India - thats because of how many Indians etc live there vs anywhere else in the world except India - but aside from that -the food in London is shit!

Chitown and SF got good food in some cases the best of certain cuisines- but y'all don't have everything at good to better than average

I've visited Chef D's cart a few times. Dude makes good food.

The lines are long and 90% people of color. We know what's up. Hell, most of the time white people walk by asking, "what is this for?" -- so fuck these videos. CAC's acting like they are discovering something.

Lol, tomato sauce and cheese on thin cardboard please !
u obviously ate at the wrong spot if that's what a ny slice to you..here's a hint..2 bros pizza and any dollar pizza store is juss a small chain making cheap products to generate lots of bread because it's a very cheap affordable meal..those aren't truly authentic pizza

I hated working in midtown - never any good caribbean food- even after they opened Golden Crusts...

shit I would've gladly walked 20 blocks 3x a week to get what they're cooking up

Jerk pork, brisket, lamb or chicken? with salad and roasted corn? and no rice!
that might be the best tasting and healthiest meals in the city

Bruh! I've walked across town and taken trains to get some as that good ass food. The brisket he makes is good also. Definitely tasty and healthy.

Talk to em... Black folk would have a strangle hold on the food scene in NYC
like i said b4 they don't want nigs to get money..this is why they shutdown mad vendors in harlem decades ago..that's to much money, to many entrepreneurs, less employees, less unemployment for the black community in ny..they not trying to hear that..hustling food or products would have less nigs getting into illegal activities and violence they not trying to hear that..shutdown a major source of legal income and either become our working slaves or result in a life of crime..that's their gameplan..open up that vendor game and watch how many motherfuckers will become 6-7 fig cats in 1 yr..economic boom like a motherfucker

peace

I am in ny all the time. I have actually eaten pizza at a number of ny spots, I do have a couple I like Johns of blecker, grimaldis, and saccos. Saccos is probably my favorite, out of the 3. Being raised in chicago, there is just nothing like chi town pizza. You don't have real deep dish or stuffed pizza and in chicago you can get those and great thin crust. It will always be a debate about pizza when it comes to these 2 cities, I guess it's not where your at its where your from.

you probably had that shit in Times Square- next time you are here - ask the NY'ers on the board to point you in the right direction

So good. Huge thin slice. Fresh dough. Fresh sauce& fresh cheese
