After Civil War, ALL Marvel Fans Should Boycott X-Men Apocalypse

EPDC gets it.

i havent been to see an Xmen movie since the VERY FIRST ONE.

it was so bad i never gave another one a chance.

i watched first class at the bgol cinema theater ONLY because Bryan the Boy Lover Singer aint have shit to do with it.
That was the best one IMO.

The rest were trash. Jennifer Lawrence/Mystique getting lead billing for this one is a joke and the fact that she allegedly won't even put on the blue makeup despite the fact that Mystique is blue outside of mirroring someone else's form makes it an even bigger joke.

:smh:

IF YOU DONT SHUT YOUR ASS UP NIGGA!!!

:lol::roflmao::lol:

Im in fucking tears over here. Fuck outta here son. You won! OK? Aint no fanboys saying nothing, niggas running and ducking for cover like they aint say shit!

oNE
These guys were trashing me in that thread fam. Calling me all kinds of ignorant and misinformed on matters. Said Darwin was in the fish tank.. had evolved and would be in the sequel.. I aint seen them niggas nor Darwin since. Muhfuckas even deleted the thread bro.. :smh:

I REMEMBER THAT SHIT. You're right. Cats was livid!

I was in that group for a post or two then my screenwriter mind kicked back in and I remembered that whitey don't give two fucks about origin, natural mutant ability and token satn the black man. They don't care at all. Kill the darkie. Kill him dead. Its so sickening that even moderate to right wing white folks have taken notice. By then it was too late, the fanboys was up in arms.

Everything else about First Class was perfect. The score was great. Kevin Bacon as the villain? Holy shit. The script was solid. Magneto was solid. The Helmet finally looked right. The Professor and the team was sound. Even Jennifer Lawrence was okay, she was playing Rebecca, playing Mystique. It worked seamlessly. Even the whole Martin L King and Malcolm comparison was there - line for line. In that vein, what they did to Darwin was unexplainable.

I am a Matt Vaughn fan. I love what hes done. Every film. Sam Jacksons role as the violence hating villian in Kingsmen was classic. George Harris had one of the best beat downs in modern film with Layer Cake. I didn't take it as racist at first but damn that's a pay off, they overlooked and its clear what it was.

Same thing with Nightcrawler. There was some angry gay jealousy going on there and Alan Cumming (after watching Titus - one of the best gay actors I have EVER seen on film besides Sir Ian McKellan) never came back so now we have some Indian kid replacing him and what happened is just so overwhelmingly obvious now.

Fox cant seem to fake, fix or hide their behind the scenes politics and ALL of their films suffer for it. Yes - even Deadpool. I can only imagine what else we would've got if they didn't cut the budget (even more) and kill the last action scene without a warning.

Im done with Fox. Fuck them niggas.
oNE

Well damn....I actually like the X-Men series except for Last Stand. I thought the First Class was dope.

If I was Fox or Mavel or whoever the fuck I wouldn't even pay y'all no mind. You can't appease them. Fox could've made Civil War and people will still be mad because its Fox.

Hmm. The previews now showing look pretty good. I won't stand in line but if I've got nothing else to do I'll go see it. Even tho J-Law is a very good actress it's becoming harder and harder for me to separate her acting from her shitty personality. And let's face it, that's part of the deal.

I'm really starting to think it will underperform even if the story is decent

Disney's campaign for Alice is now ramping up in full force and they started piggybacking with the Civil War marketing targeting kids...

This is what XMen is openning against, plus I expect Civil War to still be a strong performer:

XMen has REAL problem

look at this bullshit :

The Next X-Men Movie Will Be Set in the '90s
ja8dgj6bzqbagiklbj1f.jpg

Image: The 90s X-Men Cartoon, Fox Kids/Marvel/Disney

The new X-Men movies are rapidly running out of decades before they catch up to the present. Writer-producer Simon Kinberg has confirmed that the X-Menis moving is continuing down the timelines, telling Coming Soon, “The next one is set in the ‘90s.”

It’s not wholly surprising, since First Class took the ‘60s, Days of Future Past the ‘70s, and Apocalypse the ‘80s. But if they keep making these movies, they will eventually just be set in the present again, which is going to be weird because at that point Cyclops, Jean Grey, and the others should be in their 50s. Plus, we don’t actually know if he means the next film in the main series or the upcoming New Mutants.

That cartoon was awesome tho

The reviews are out and they are horrible!

A critic even said it makes Last Stand look good!!!

Ok Fox, time to give ALL the X-titles over to Tim Miller.

oh...shit.

'X-Men: Apocalypse' Review: It's A Franchise-Killing Disaster

It has no reason to exist beyond the fact that the last film made money, and it offers a franchise absolutely determined to be so tied to its past that it gets left behind in the very comic book sub-genre that it helped popularize. It is the kind of superhero comic book film that typified the genre before the original X-Men (and Blade) turned things around. X-Men is still a groundbreaker and still works as a potent character drama. X2: X-Men United contains perhaps the best first act in superhero cinema. X-Men: First Class promised a deliciously fantastical and pop-art zippy X-Men reboot. But X-Men: Apocalypse is the kind of weightless, soulless trifle of a bore that makes comic book superhero movies look bad and makes me not look forward to the next installment.

X-Men basically invented the modern superhero movie. But this franchise needs to make a choice: evolve or die.

aint nobody surprised.

Let the blood letting begin:

The First Reviews of X-Men Apocalypse Are In, and They're 'Meh'...

This weekend, 20th Century Fox held the first screenings of Bryan Singer’s X-Men Apocalypse and now the reviews are in. Some people love Singer’s epic vision, but most found it to be long, bloated, and disappointing. We’ve got examples of them all.

First, quotes from some full reviews:

“If you’ve seen one cinematic apocalypse, you’ve seen them all. At least that’s the feeling conjured by “X-Men: Apocalypse,” the latest entry in one of the more reliable comic-book franchises around, this time disappointingly succumbing to an exhausting case of been-there-done-that-itis.” - Variety

“Narratively jumbled and jammed with so many characters that you give up keeping them all straight while simultaneously lamenting not seeing more of those you might actually want around, Bryan Singer’s fourth entry in the enormously profitable series he inaugurated 16 years ago undeniably builds to a cataclysmic dramatic reckoning. But mostly it just feels like a bloated, if ambitious attempt to shuffle as many mutants and specially gifted characters as possible into a story of a resurrected god ready to take over the world.” - The Hollywood Reporter

“With “X-Men: Apocalypse,” however, Singer seems to have acquired a new mutant power of his own: Monotony. Whether it’s the lack of an interesting villain, or the fact that the series’ time-travel element is forcing these mutants to meet each other (and the audience) all over again for the first time, this latest entry marks a shocking letdown from Singer’s earlier contributions; what once soared now slogs.” - The Wrap

““Apocalypse,” for all its faults, has the audacity to make the MCU look small, and the conviction to make the DCU — if there even is such a thing — look foolish for confusing self-seriousness with gravity. If only these characters were allowed to be as complex as the ideas they fight for, “Apocalypse” could have represented a new beginning for superhero cinema.” - Indiewire

““X-Men: Apocalypse” is a lifeless affair, squandering its star power, underselling its characters, and muddying its action in grays and cutaways.” - Comic Book Resources

“For the second straight movie, the best setpiece belongs to Peters’ Quicksilver, who steals the show with an exciting and funny showcase for his powers. If we’re being totally honest, though, it’s not all that different than his showcase scene in the last movie.” - Screencrush

“At times, it feels like Singer is trying to fit as much as humanly possible into this movie, just in case it’s his last. By the time it gets to the climactic showdown against Apocalypse, it’s obvious what an unstoppable force he is, and everything leading up to that point does pay off.” - Daily News

“53 years of X-Men comic stories and an almost unlimited budget, and this is the best they could come up with?” - Film School Rejects

these are fighting words!!!:

If anyone said/says that about something I created... I would have to see the critic about this- that is just disrespectful to compare it to pre-Blade movies

Who is surprised by this? Bryan Singer is a shit director and needs to stop. I'm honestly not even going to go to theater and see this shit. I hate Bryan Singer. I want him dead.

For the Jennifer Lawrence haters:

"The big disappointment of Apocalypse in terms of performances is Jennifer Lawrence. I’m in no position to say whether she tried or not, but she is right smack in the middle of an ensemble of actors that are all clearly giving this everything they’ve got and she feels disconnected from it all – which is especially unfortunate because the Apocalypse script gives her a good deal to work with when it comes to Raven/Mystique building relationships, accepting who she is and figuring out her place within the X-Men."

HOLY SHIT. THIS HURTS MAN... I knew this was coming and it still hurts. Fox knows it too.

Thing is, Im not even going to count Civil War - Matt Vaughn gave the X Men the shot it needed to push forward. The Wolverine was okay (the unrated cut was good) but it was a step in the right direction. I think the next sophomore effort from James Mangold and the third for Jackman will be a hit. Deadpool was a storm, a perfect storm that they never seen coming. It cemented the words that Ryan Reynolds has been repeating for years - put me in Coach and it steeped Tim Miller in praise.

All Singer had to do was keep it rolling. You got the cast. You got the right characters in place. You got a sneak peek Wolverine scene. You have a whole new timeline to play around in. You have a stable of bad ass women - a sexy, powerful redhead, a hot changeling blond, a fine as hell blackgirl, a half Asian purple hair stripper looking assassin and a British MILF. You have an ultimate heavy with A. You have a bald Jim McAvoy and all his emotional glory. You have the BRILLIANT Michael Fassbender - this man can do NO wrong in ANY film.

How do you fuck it up? Singer.

Who is surprised by this? Bryan Singer is a shit director and needs to stop. I'm honestly not even going to go to theater and see this shit. I hate Bryan Singer. I want him dead.

Damn Dray. Fam, you getting worst everyday.

SHIT.

I wanted to like Jennifer Lawrence but fuck it. She just cant win man. Doesn't matter what she did acting wise, her bitching about the make up was enough to turn folks off. She was miscast like a champ to begin with - her chapter should've ended in the last film. Plus, they changed her make up and the design of scales on her face and her body and the blue is the wrong color now - it looks bad. They know better. Fox is clearly showing everyone that they don't care - they are going at this Transformers style - fuck what the critics and the fans talking about. Everybody is on to her game now too.

Oh well.
