White people shit.
Had no idea...man that was actually a BIG deal in their circles, because all them white boys were tight friends.
Kevin pretty much gave Affleck his first major movie role.
he was as tight with Kevin as he was Damon but that chick aint like all that frat boy comic book vulgar humor and didnt like that Ben and Matt used to act just like him when they were hanging out together. Hell she tried to get Damon too but that was money AND friends shit so she chilled on taking it that far.
But Kevinn actually contacted him first when he got the batman role and defended him to the death and Affleck hollered back like man I appreciate that and we good, we gotta talk face to face.
Kevin actually talked about it.
So if Kevin sh*t on this movie? after all those mended fences? then it had to be a royal clusterf*ck

Kev didnt trash Ben tho. He complimented him and the movie was terrible.
So Batman is NEVER allowed to evolve (or in this case DEvolve)??? He's supposed to stay staunch and reasonable forever? This isn't 1950's. I think the character progression from a trust worthy protector of life into a shattered punisher type shows progression as well as tragedy.
They problem I have is that too many of you guys are stuck on tropes you grew up with. You want Superman to be smiling Superman, Batman to be the dark avenger that never kills even though the amount of fire power being thrown at him can level a mountain. Unbreakable and unwavering. Grow up. Let the characters be damaged..allow them to shift and maybe come back to where they were.
*and guess what? Each one of you fools will be there on the front row, pop corn in hand for The Justice League movie, forgetting totally all the rants you made 2 years earlier for this film.

It takes a real friend to tell you that your 250 million dollar movie is a piece of shit. That's real talk right there.
Especially when you consider that the one thing the movie does a good job of explaining is just how battered, jaded, and completely wrecked Batman currently is.
Well first off, you're being dramatic as fuck labeling the guy a terrorist. He isn't that by any reasonable definition. He hunts the depraved and criminal specifically and with purpose.
No... I'm completely fine with him evolving. That's why I loved the Dark Knight, but DAMNIT... you have to explain this shit. Just one scene or discussion about why he is this way now... would have explained so much.
If he is killing because he lost Robin then fine... Have one quick conversation with Alfred where Alfred fears that Master Bruce is taking it too far and has lost his original path. Or just have him... Look at Robin Monument/trophy.. or what ever the fuck that was... and Play some gun shots or screams in the background that only bruce hears... Or Use one of the 5 flashbacks to show Robin's death. Problem solved... Evolved Murdery batman has been explained.. Audience is satisfied.
Ok... With the flashbacks we see how tormented he is about his upbringing and parents death. The tone is set there... Trauma associated with the alien attack and all it cost innocent people...His conversations with Alfred- as you mentioned- revolved around his many wars, physical and mental damage, regrets and near death experiences and the toll it has taken. The constant nightmares imply a haunted and tortured mind/soul. We see Robins vandalized uniform with the words "Jokes on you Batman" (a displayed constant reminder of his loss and failure to prevent something he could have).. His dialogue with Alfred again, as it pertains to Superman speaks about how if there is even 1% chance that this entity can cause preventable damage he needs to be ended (this exchange expresses regret and guilt from not taking necessary measures in the past)... When he meets Clark he refers to Superman being another sick "clown" (Murderous Joker reference) that needs to be put down before he kills someone.. We see the grey hair, weary look, and crows feet eyes...Where?????
All of the Flashbacks involve things that we know about Batman from the very beginning.
He only made one comment to Alfred about being at this for over 20 years.
To my knowledge that was the only time Bruce actually referenced the time that he has been Batman.
So where??? Seriously... Not to sound nitypicky, but I honestly didn't see that part. I probably missed it.

Honestly bro, this was the best articulated aspect of the entire film. I dont see how anyone can say they didnt fully provide context and perspective on Batman being totally fucked up and dealing with depression, rage, guilt, etc...
Look bro, at this point i think you're being an asshole or playing a game of semantics i dont care to partake in.Well...
terrorist
2. a person who terrorizes or frightens others.

Man that shit was fucking awesome. Like i said pages earlier, the film had many issues that caused me to pause... But Batman killed it! And it made all the sense in the world.... Decades of letting scum live, only to watch them kill innocents and continue to terrorize civilians.. then that death visits your door... At what point does a man not snap. Not re-evaluate his methods...?? What man is the same idealistically at 45 as he was at 25?? Dont get much realer than that?Well said! This was the BEST BATMAN I've ever seen on screen. A man who's at the end....

Yea.. But, if you dont have any previous knowledge are you really THAT upset with Batman killing? Without prior knowledge wouldnt one not know of his code? And thus not be offended by him breaking it? So in that regard, those with actual prior knowledge are informed enough to deduce whats going on with the character...imo. Do you agree?I get your point. I just think if you take away any previous knowledge of what type of Batman this was going to be from the plot synopsis and just looked at this from a movie standpoint... It does a horrible job of explaining any of this and I am a DC fan.
Ok. I knew the portrayal would be of a older grizzled Bats.. So maybe that colored my perspective before hand. The rest i didnt know about. But I went into this movie to see the world that it presents and this movie rests too much on people knowing the plot synopsis going in. I intentionally didn't read shit about the plot or the cameos. I tried to avoid the trailers when I noticed that they were spoiling to much. While I was watching it... I didn't know if there was going to be a Robin in the universe of Batman. I didn't know how long Bruce had been Batman. I didn't know that Lex was actually Lex junior. Other then the 20 year conversation with Alfred.... the rest of the shit was just glossed over.
Look bro, at this point i think you're being an asshole or playing a game of semantics i dont care to partake in.
Implied in the word terrorist- certainly in a current real world context- is a perpetrator of violent acts upon a unwitting innocent or uninvolved party. Labeling the guy who we all admit ONLY kills criminals and the depraved, as a terrorist is horse shit. He is and always has been a vigilante. At worst we can now call him an anti-hero but i dont even agree with that. Hes a vigilante.. One who now kills.
Man respectfully, if we gonna discuss the shit lets atleast stop nitpicking and dissecting every nonsensical word we disagree on just for the sake of disagreeing. He is in no way a fucking terrorist bro.
Cool. I totally agree with the killing aspect as ive stated already. But i get your issue with gun usage... But as i stated earlier, it was very limited where he pointed guns that were in the hands of others, and it was one scene (not included Kryptonite grenade). A scene where a flame thrower was being held to the head of a senior citizen. If he were walking around with a six shooter and holster i would have a bigger problem. But again, i see your objection there.I just think that one of the fundamentals things about Batman is his nonkilling policy and his phobia with guns... Throughout history this has been one of the most well known things about him. If you are going to change this. You have to have some kind of explanation. This is part of the CHARACTER of BATMAN.
If Zach Snyder.. decided to have Superman immune to Kryptonite, people would be up in arms over this. But technically... it's the same thing. Everyone knows that Superman is weak to Kryptonite and everyone knows that Batman doesn't intentionally kill.

There were definitely some issues with the editing. Unacceptable considering how long ago this movie wrapped too. And yea man, they have a mess on their hands going forward. I dont see how they can introduce all those JL characters, a villain, and resurrect Superman in one well put together movie. They may wanna rearrange that schedule and have those stand alone movies come first... or as you said, have one JL film sans Supes.I think if I knew that it was a grizzled version of Bats I could see your point about not carrying that he was killing people... I wouldn't have needed an explanation because I already know. And I think that's how Warner Bros's cut this movie... They cut this movie for the people that not only knew the history of the characters but were die hard enough to soak up every single detail of the film. They knew those people wouldn't need the hand holding... and they went for the quick cash grab with the world wide release and the "shorter time".. to get the non-diehards in. From a business perspective it was a very smart gamble. But long term it could come back to bite them... especially if Wonder Woman doesn't make the numbers. People are just going to be burnt out..... The diehards are going to watch Justice League, but the rest of the country might be turned off.... I mean we all know that we are going into this movie.. with at least 40 minutes dedicated to the rebirth of Superman. On the real.. I think he might not show up at all in the first movie and they make him some kind of Deus ex machina (Gandalf the White Wizard) for Part 2 and come back when everyone is getting fucked up by Darkseid.

This movie is not hot garbage but they really missed the mark on what could have been an epic movie. First the Director could have cut at least 45 minutes from the movie. Too much unnecessary melodrama, too many failed operatic themes and music, and way too little action. If there is going to be a JLA they need to hire another director.
