I would've expected better numbers. Promos for this movie started months ago. Still 238 is nothing to sneeze at.

It broke every record damn near. First movie to make over $100 million in a single day.

I was referring to the amount of promotions the film received. I did say that 238 was nothing to sneeze at. But I did expect better and I'm standing by my statement.

Yea the amount of promotions was crazy. Everybody jumped on the bandwagon. Even car dealers. :smh:

That's a crazy amount of money. But it's Star Wars so you already knew it was going to happen.
I do however have a problem with one the records that this movie broke. Specifically the opening day/midnight record.

I don't know how the theaters were where everybody else is, but here there were places showing this bitch like 10 times on Thursday .... BEFORE the midnight showings. All in all, there were 15 showings on Thursday night at the theater I went to.
8 in standard before midnight, 2 after midnight, and 5 showings in 3D.
I'd image that it was pretty much that same everywhere. That just seems like cheating
Bad enough they count the inflated prices for 3D tickets, but now movies can be released at 7:15. If Avengers or Dark Knight could have done that a couple years ago, imagine how much more money those movies would have made.

Not shocked with all the money and tie ins spent advertising this joint over the past six months. You can't go anywhere or watch TV without knowing about it.

Whoever released Sisters was dumb as fuck. They could have made money if they didn't pick this weekend.

This is where you're wrong. The film has no audience. If I were to guess, this is probably the most money either of these women have ever brought in. This movie would have been better as a Netflix release.

WOW!!!!...I knew they was going to do big numbers but not like this!!..:yes:...Good Job, it was a good ass movie!!..:yes:

wow this thing might b at 500 million by the end of the weekend...it`s doing an average of 37 million during the dam week...:eek2:

unless it has a major slow down...it just might get Avatar...Domestically...Overall tho...?...2.7 Billion is still a long way a way....

the weekend was actually 247

if this weekend is 1\3 the number from last it will make a billion global
(another record?)

Nawh,

The majority of people that are going to see it come early to mid January are going to be repeat viewers(Die Hards). This is a good example of a movie that's front-end heavy! Those numbers are going to start to trickling in another 2-weeks I bet.

I think it tops out at about 1.6-1.9B. It definitely isn't going to overtake 2.8B to surpass Avatar and I will gladly bet you on that.
