Come on man you know offense sells. Step into your local rec center. All you'll see is kids doin And1 crossovers and chuckin 3s

That was the target audience for that trailer
Point taken.
On a Sidenote: We both know that...
- Offense
'sells tickets'...
- But Defense
'wins championships'.
Don't get me wrong, the new 2K trailer is good, imo.

Overall, I liked it.
Maybe it's just me... but really there were just (2) main reasons that made me 'point out' those issues with the trailer.
Dunno if you visit OperationSports.com very often, but...
1 - For the past few weeks, a few key 2K Devs were on the OperationSports forums making it a point to tell everyone how they quote:
"Paid quite ALOT of attention to post-play this year in 2k16"... "by adding lots of new post-up animations & moves, and different ways to feed the post, etc., etc.".... HOWEVER, we don't really get to see very much of that stuff they were bragging about in this first trailer.... and game drops in just 4 weeks.
Perhaps they will show it later on in a 2nd trailer, but who really knows?
They might. They might not - I can't call it.
2 - The second reason is... 2K had ALOT of bad issues with 'cheese' in MyPark mode this year.
Countless 2K gamers were creating 7-foot tall point guards that run faster than Chris Paul, dribble like Iverson and shoot 3's like Larry Bird... which led to tons of complaints on the OS forums about
'improving defense', in particular.
So basically the 2K Devs and their main Marketing guys have been over there telling the OS gamers:
"We hear ya'll.. and fixed those issues.... just wait until we drop the REAL gameplay footage.... You won't be disappointed".
So it's a little bit irritating to see/read all those types of responses from the actual 2K staff...... then watch the 'official' trailer that doesn't really address ANY of the stuff they told the OS community.
At the end of the day... this first trailer vs. what 2K Devs said... just don't really 'match up' well.
Personally, I expect alot of gameplay footage of dribbling, dunks & 3-point animations from EA/NBA Live... because they are trying to 'catch up', and need to showcase those things to build up 'consumer confidence' again in the areas where they have recently struggled the MOST.
But 2K does not struggle in those areas.
And what the majority of the 2K community over at the OS forums is looking for... seems to be
'more balance' between offense & defense. (From all the threads I've read, all the flashy dribbling & dunks are kinda 'secondary' to fixing glitches & bugs that have plagued the game for years, which now allow gamers to create 'demigod'-type ballers, that ruin the 'fun factor' in 2K's 'most popular' mode, in the long run.)
Personally, I just think that 2K should do A LITTLE BIT MORE to 'assure' the OS community that they are truly 'listening' to their concerns (which quite honestly will make the game better overall, for everyone) by showing some of the things their Devs have been discussing over in that forum.
And not wait until the 'very last minute' (read: one week before the game drops) to showcase that kinda stuff.
There is such a thing as 'waiting too late'... because 2K has fully-adopted the bad habit of releasing 'small tidbits' of game details on a weekly basis, in such a piece-meal fashion.
They been comfortable for awhile now.
But if 2K decides to drop video footage that shows off more 'post-play' or the 'defensive improvements' when tons of NBA gamers are actually too busy downloading/playing the NBA Live 16 Demo in 2 weeks.... it might backfire and fall on a few 'deaf ears'.... especially if that new Pro-Am mode is any good.
And that (nonchalant) marketing strategy could allow EA to 'gain more ground' this year than 2K ever expected.
Just saying. Time will tell tho.
