Played the demo and thought it was decent compared to the last few NBA Live installments. But as I continue to play I started to notice how terrible the game is gameplay wise. I've never understood how people are NBA Jive fans.

He hasn't been in that thread since the demo released.

That's because I been playing the EA Live 16 Demo non-stop for a few days now.

The game HAS improved tremendously from last year.

Granted, EA still needs to do some work with 'on the court' gameplay... but the Pro-Am mode is FIRE!!!

It's MUCH better than the 2K15 MyPark mode...

- where you couldn't play any real defense...
- and had immensely long wait periods to start up a game... because you were forced to stand around and watch other players finish their games.

Both games have their flaws.... Just different flaws, imo.
So it's really just a matter of 'preference'.

For example:
- The NBA Live 16 demo has a serious problem with players 'sling-shotting' to rim which makes the game feel 'arcade-like' at times.... which doesn't happen in 2k.

- While 2K has seriously struggled with 'ball tangibility' for several YEARS... where the ball (and player 'body parts') too often 'passes right thru' your arms, torso, chest and legs which causes you to miss very makeable blocks & steals... which doesn't happen in NBA Live.

Since I don't have 2k16 yet, I can only compare this EA demo to NBA 2k15 right now...

EA's new 'progression system' is AOLT better than 2K15's MyCareer version, imo.

You can 'deeply customize' individual attributes in a more detailed way than in 2K, last year. (i.e. You can increase your ability to make 'layups'... without it affecting your ability to shoot 'post hook' shots.)

EA has done a great job with the Pro-Am mode, imo:

- The courts are gorgeous.
- The sound / music is on point.
- The 'progression system' is fantastic.
- The CPU AI is solid. Very tough to beat in Pro-Am mode.
- There's no 'constant cheesing' that I've seen yet.
- There's no 'zig-zag' dribbles that let you pull up with 3pt bombs.
- There's no unstoppable baseline dunks.
- There's no 7-footers with Allen Iverson handles.
- You only 'get good' by actually playing WELL. (No 'pay-to-win' options)
- It's ALOT of fun, overall.

- Sure, it DOES need some more work 'on the court', but EA is heading in the right direction.

Not bad EA. Not bad at all.

But we will see what 2K16 has up its sleeve this year, when the game drops in a few days.
