I don't think any show will ever capture the grittiness of the first season of TWD, even TWD cannot do it.
As far as FOTWD, might get better after the intros of characters but I doubt it...

I like it, when the Walking Dead first came on, I thought it would've been interesting to see what had happened while Rick was in a coma. Shit, I work for a power company and we've been getting warnings about terrorist threats. Could you imagine how crazy people would act if the power grid gets shut down?
Remember TWD took a few episodes to get going...I think next week this will pick up very fast
I enjoyed the show. There were reports that this show was going to be slower paced to begin with so I knew what was up. You shouldn't compare it to the Walking Dead. It's the beginning of a out break. It's mre about the break down of society than surviving at this point.

I'm a religious TWD comic reader and fan. Hell, I even got a few of my comics signed by Kirkman and Adlard at NYCC. I wouldnt even drop spoilers, if I do its very vague to the point it wont make sense. People got to come to grips that a lot of shows and movies are based off books and comics. So people will drop spoilers or references in some shape or form. Yeah its a dick move as long as theyre vague about it, which is something I do on this and in real life.
question, how do you drop spoilers on a show that has no relation to the walking dead comics? as far as I know from reading the comics, and I got as far as the Governor cutting off Ricks hand, there was no mention on how it started.

I think the reason why they started the walking dead from Rick coming out of the coma is the fact that if you started from the beginning it is slow like this. There is very little going on at first. everybody's confused, and no one knows exactly what they're facing.it is a lot of normal that is about to get abnormal and not as fast as we would like it as fans. that's why they are doing the fake scare shit. nothing's happening yet
