Trying to cut back on salt and sugar. It's in everything. The recommended daily intake for sugar is 37 grams or 9 teaspoons . Sodium for black men I believe is 1500. What are you guys doing to stay below these levels?

Don't listen to this foolYou dont need salt nor sugar.
I was raised by a diabetic and rarely had either. Rice is still the shit though.
Easiest way to cut sodium is to avoid processed foods. They are loaded with sodium. Also another strategy to balance the sodium with your potassium intake (another type of salt). Both strategies have helped me get control of my Blood pressure.
Sugars.....i try to avoid lots of them but I get some in fruits and veggies. You don't really need sugars especially in the mornings. I eat mostly fats and proteins. Your body can turn these into sugars if you need them.
Also avoid canned soup, canned soup is packed with sodium.
Don't listen to this fool

I did that cutting my sodium low bullshit an almost died running across Brooklyn bridge last summer. Fuck what you heard, you NEED salt.sugar is not the problem, its sugar without the fiber that's the problem.
Dude my mom is West Indian, trust me I know about seasoning foodWhere im from, we season our foods with natural herbs. Americans love sazon. Read the nutritional values of a little pack of sazon.
Bro i legs started cramping up when I went across the first time, and I shook it off as nothing. But on my way back to Brooklyn as soon as I hit the top of the bridge I dropped, the pain was crazy, I felt my chest open up.If you're running, clearly you need more sodium than the average person since you sweat more. But there's a limit. Any sodium imbalance (too much or too small) can negatively affect your health.

Short answer... No.Is this true? This is new to me.
There is a huge difference between the sugar in consuming fruits and consuming refined sugar on a spoon and syrup.
this.alot of fools in this thread. Yall gonna kill that muthafucka with the ignorance being tossed around here.![]()
. Now I'm 177 to 182 trying to get 10 more lbs added. sodium is not necessarily the issue
i love salty shit and eat a good amount of it (mostly on weekends) from chips to salted pretzels, hot sauces and such and my blood pressure was 100/70 the last time i went to the DR
i do a LOT of cardio so im constantly sweating it out and i drink a lot of water(i dont drink soda and seldom drink juice)
also increase your potassium it will help negate the sodium intake
if you are already over weight or have hypertension then yea you need to detox
sugar im not a fan of. too much of it makes me dizzy&hot then tired
I think your diet is dam near great man. Except the lack of vegetables. You should really mix those in with your meals. I dont think cooked leafy greens will be a issue with your IBS (possible exceptions being collards and kale due to their texture).I do that fitness pal website to keep track of what I eat everyday trying to get at least 3000 calories for the day. For my sodium it has my total at 2300 and sugar 102. I stay below those numbers.
My daily food from mon. to friday is:
Breakfast: Protein Shake(2 Raw eggs, 2tbs Coconut oil, 4tbs Natural Peanut butter, protein powder, cup of lactaid milk)
Lunch: Rice and fish (tilapia) with garlic I cut up and that Huy Fong sriracha
Dinner: Either hamburger no bun with mayo I cook myself, or thin cut ribeye
Snacks: Planters low sodium mixed nuts and yogurt also I try to get some fruit like pineapples or grapes. Oh yeah mixed veggies once in awhile
I'm probably around 1700 to 2000 sodium and 60 to 70 calories
I drink nothing but water, I usually have to try to find something extra to get to 3000 calories this meal plan like 200 calories short. I mainly do this for my IBS condition and to add weight I left my last job in Oct weighing like 165. Now I'm 177 to 182 trying to get 10 more lbs added.
Fellas feel free to tell me I'm fucking up if I am
