Who do we want?
Jaelen Strong or Devante Parker?
Honestly, I don't watch a lot of college games
But I have been checking out film/reports/youtube highlights of the different WR's
Here's what I observed...
Kevin White
Dude is explosive.
Will easily be a #1 WR in the league maybe even like the Giants WR Odell Beckham.
He has the strength to beat press coverage, has the speed to separate from DB's & get YAC, has the height for jump balls in the endzone.
The Raiders will probably take him, so we have little to no shot to get him.
Amari Cooper
Well rounded WR.
Runs great routes, not really great/elite in one category, but good in pretty much all things.
Honestly he reminds me of a slightly faster Crabtree (minus the injuries & diva personality).
Just like Crabs, Cooper isn't going to win many jump balls, fade routes in the endzone type plays.
And he has decent speed but is not a burner.
Also pretty good hands like Crabs.
DeVante Parker
I haven't gotten a chance to check out a lot of film on him yet.
I did notice that he seems to be a YAC player.
One thing that jumps out to me, is that he's pretty skinny.
So I'm not sure how he will hold up in the NFC West.
Jaelen Strong
Kaepernick is actually practicing with Strong & also Kevin White & Kurt Warner.
He reminds me of a slightly faster Anquan Boldin.
He won't get much separation, but he's a good possession WR, that can box you out in the red zone.
His game is power/strength/size.
Dorial Green Beckham
He's not as talented as Calvin Johnson , so you can forget that.
But he can probably be productive like Plaxico Burress was (before going to jail), or like the Panthers rookie Benjamin.
OR....he could be a constant screwup like Justin Blackmon.
OR....be lazy like Jon Baldwin.
Dude comes with a lot of baggage so I just don't know about him.
Not sure if Trent Baalke will take a chance drafting another problem player.
Devin Smith
This is the guy that I originally wanted.
I watched a couple of his Ohio State games.
Dude is basically a clone of Torrey Smith.
Before we signed Torrey, this was the dude I thought we would draft in the first round.
Devin Smith is a deep threat WR.
I liked the way he tracked the ball, & he's good at jump balls & is fast enough to stretch the field.
He plays faster than his combine numbers.
Other guys I've been hearing about are...
Sammie Coates, Breshad Perriman, Phillip Dorsett, Tyler Lockett
(All available in rounds 2-3)
