The next batch of U.K. episodes of “Kitchen Nightmares” will be the last for Gordon Ramsay, who announced the end of the British and Yank editions of the show on his website Monday.

“I’ve had a phenomenal 10 years making 123 episodes, 12 seasons, shot across 2 continents, watched by tens of millions of people and sold to over 150 countries. It’s been a blast but it’s time to call it a day,” Ramsay wrote in a post on his personal website.

The cooking reality show premiered in the U.K. in 2004 and the U.S. rendition bowed on Fox in 2007, featuring Ramsay’s visits to struggling restaurants. The chef would spend one week using his expertise trying to help the owners rehabilitate the business.

The format allowed Ramsay to show off his restauranteur bona fides as well as his attempts at family and couples counseling. Last year, the show hit its peak of pop culture buzz with an episode revolving around an Scottsdale, Ariz. eatery, Amy’s Baking Company, run by an over-the-top couple who produced plenty of Internet-friendly viral vid moments.

Ramsay credited “Kitchen Nightmares” for being “the show that really propelled my TV career.” The show has been a Friday night staple for Fox, with the most recent U.S. episodes airing in April and May. Fox has one more “Revisit” episode of “Kitchen Nightmares” in the can.

But Fox still has plenty of Ramsay on its air, between the competition series “Hell’s Kitchen,” airing now, “Hotel Hell” (bowing July 21) and the “MasterChef” and “MasterChef Junior” franchises.

At present, Ramsay is filming four final episodes of the U.K. “Kitchen Nightmares” for Channel 4.

On his website, Ramsay offered a list of “fun facts” about the show’s decade-long run:

123 restaurants in 99 cities within 2 countries were visited
If you watched all episodes back-to-back it would run for 6,868 minutes

The ‘Kitchen Nightmares’ format was produced locally for 30 territories around the world
Swear count – 10,197
The show brought in $37.3 million in ad revenue during the 2012-13 season – more than any other Friday Fox original series that season
The show was the most viewed TV show across networks during the Friday time slot
Tears – 0.4 gallons

Great show indeed. Enjoyed the UK version a bit more.

Hope he carries on with his cooking series cause dude knows his shit.

I wonder what he was caking. I mean he had 4 different shows on TV on Fox of all stations? I know that bread had to be right.

I saw the very first UK version and it was great tv. Shit had soul and passion. Literally and figuratively. It was a sister who had a struggling soul food restaurant over there. The UK shows all seemed more authentic back then. The US versions are like a comedic food version of "Pimp My Ride". Shit is way too orchestrated and choreographed.

:eek::eek:

6 min mark, he goes in into the chef, and dude tries to get back in at Gordon only to recede like Mr. Chipmunk..:lol:

mofo putting fruit in mashed potatoes :smh::puke:

Only Ep everyone should watch

These crazy motherfuckers are probably the ones that had him rethinking doing the show anymore...

i bet they jumping for joy hearing this bit of news..

some of the UK shows were funny, lke the one he did in Paris(interesting that the lady who was the owner is now a high-class escort  )

the first show where he ate that bad scallop..how could that chef have NOT known that it was bad :smh: then that place's owner tried to sue Ramsay

The UK version was definitely better. It at least "seemed" much less scripted than the US version. The early years were the best when he was just coming at the chefs and owners like a fellow chef and owner who had more success and experience than they did.

The best episode was with the sister who ran the soul food restaurant in the UK. It was the first time I had ever seen him eat all the food on the plate, go into the kitchen and say "The food is fabulous, so why the fuck aren't people coming into your restaurant?" Then he proceeded to help her turn the place around.

My second personal favorite was when he blindfolded the "chef" and fed him three different kinds of cooked meats and the mofo couldn't identify any of them. Gordon feeds him a piece of chicken and that cat was like "Uh, sirloin". Gordon feeds him a piece of pork and the mofo was like "Uh, chicken". All the while Gordon is laughing at him and mugging for the camera.

I liked the UK version better but I also enjoyed "The F- word" too....Gordon taught a lot too and gave great cooking tips

great, that annoying British man yelling and swearing and berating other people is intolerable, and I have no idea why people think that is funny. if he tried that crap with me he will be pulling my size 13 out of his ass.Good riddance
