When you make a mistake Caceres he will get ahold of something. Going for a leg lock in the 3rd is only something for people who are experts at that move.

I am surprised this is in the 3rd rd
I got the fight even after 2 rds

Gonzaga was killing Miocic with the leg strikes
in the 1st but the jabbing and lateral movement
by Miocic got Gonzaga tired in the 2nd rd.

Henderson is picking it up in this round. I think he will take over in the last 2 rounds. That broken hand is gonna catch up with thompson.

It can go 3-2 Either way.


Benson needs to really work on his fundamental game. Against people who he can muscle around he looks great. When he fights people with a fundamental game he runs into trouble. I can't see Benson Beating Pettis, Khabib Nurmagomedov, or even Micheal Johnson if he's hot that night.

I gave it to Bendo 48-47
but Thomson was able to take Bendo down 5 times
and make it a very competitive fight. The outcome couldve been different if
he didnt break his thumb in the 2nd rd

I disagree with the people you listed. He lost to Pettis by one round in their epic first fight. I've rematches that fight several times. It was 2-2 going into the last round. A few different decisions, he could've won that fight. He has better grappling than Johnson, so once he gets him to the ground it's over. Henderson is also a more diverse a fighter than Khabib. So I think fundamentals are fine. He got caught is a really great arm bar against Pettis early in their rematch fight. That can happen to anyone. Pettis is great, but I'm not sold on his durability. Remember, this the same guy who Guida beat (who was then dominated by Henderson).

With all that said, in this fight Josh showed his takedown game was superior to Henderson's. So that is one area I hope Henderson reexamines.

Your right he's diverse in his attack, but its not sound. His striking off the cage is not good outside his low kicks. In the top position I rarely see him doing anything to threaten with submission. He looked like he was going to go for a guillotine a few times but Josh recognized and backed off before before the attack.
