Benteke getting kicked in the face, then he gets a yellow?

I couldn't understand this nonsense to save my life. :smh: That ref gave those Blues every call in the world.

Sucks cause Martin "i'm a blue" Atinkson gets the call at OT Monday too. No worries, we'll take care of business.

What a goal by Villa btw.

Nope, Tata Martino is preferring Alexis Sanchez because he's been playing really well lately(club and country).

Also, Pedro and Sanchez are the forwards that track back and win the ball back the most.

aight

well i hope they dont waste all the money they spend on him

It would seem Messi is injured because he got subbed at the half.

damn still left neymar siting lol

yeah that shit they did last year will haunt him. i have seen this happen many times. players that never get injured. and when they do they get injured regularly. they should have let him rest last season.

For real, he's getting injured with the same frequency that Puyol does. He did get injured a bunch at the start of his career.

yeah he did but they let him take his rest then when he played with eto and ronaldinho and properly heal. the thing they did with him last year is what the Netherlands did with robben the last world cup. and wen he got back to bayern he was out for like 6-7 month.

More bullshit?

Karim Benzema & Angel Di Maria: Arsenal target Real Madrid pair

The Gunners are prepared to pay £40m for 25-year-old France striker Benzema after missing out on Gonzalo Higuain and Liverpool's Luis Suarez.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is keen to further boost his attacking options with Argentina international Di Maria, 25, who plays on the left wing.

It is understood Wenger is also chasing a goalkeeper and a defensive player.

Wenger is a long-term admirer of Benzema, who joined Real from Lyon for £25m in 2009, while Di Maria arrived at the Bernabeu from Benfica a year later.

Arsenal's only summer signing to date is the 20-year-old French striker Yaya Sanogo on a free transfer from Auxerre, but it is thought they could spend close to £100m by the close of the transfer window at 23:00 BST on 2 September.

Speaking after his side's 3-0 victory at Fenerbahce in their Champions League qualifying play-off first leg, Wenger admitted the pursuit of Suarez was over.

Arsenal saw two bids rejected for the Uruguay forward as Liverpool insisted he was not for sale.

"Absolutely no chance of that," said Wenger of Suarez arriving at Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners have also had a £10m offer for Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye turned down, but Wenger suggested the final 12 days of the transfer window would be busy.

Arsenal lost at home to Aston Villa on the opening day of the Premier League season and have suffered injuries to Mikel Arteta, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Laurent Koscielny, while Abou Diaby remains sidelined and fellow-midfielder Jack Wilshere is still returning to full match fitness.

"Quality wise we do not need, but numbers wise we are short," Wenger continued.

"We lost Arteta and Diaby. We are without three international midfielders. We will try and bring one in but we are working on that. What you have to understand is that there is still a long way to go.

"The transfer market really starts now, a lot of activity will happen between now and 2 September. We have 12 days. A lot will happen. It starts now."

Godin unmoved in 'kick Messi' row

Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin appears to have admitted that he instructed team-mate Miranda to target Lionel Messi’s injured thigh in Wednesday’s Supercopa first leg.

Barcelona star Messi was taken off at half-time in the game at the Estadio Vicente Calderon, and subsequent tests revealed he had suffered a bruise to the femoral biceps tendon in his left thigh.

Al Jazeera analysts saw the defender apparently telling his central defensive colleague to kick Messi in the back of the thigh after he had walked around off the ball feeling for a problem.

Messi has recently suffered persistent problems in that area, and has only completed 90 minutes on one occasion since picking up a muscle injury in April’s Champions League quarter-final first leg at Paris Saint-Germain.

The Al Jazeera footage quickly spread around the international and Spanish media, with the Uruguay captain being criticised for what appeared to be his unsporting approach. But Godin told Uruguayan radio station Radio 1010 AM in his home country such things were all part of the game.

"These are football gestures and those who play know what they mean," the centre-half said. "I see that he is touching that part of his leg. I made gestures to my team-mates so that they know to put pressure on.”

He said Atletico’s committed approach had been key to their recent success under Argentine coach Diego Simeone. “We go for every ball as if it were the last,” he explained. “That is what has made us winners."

Messi is likely to sit out Barcelona’s La Liga game at Malaga on Saturday, but should be back for the Supercopa second leg against Atletico at the Camp Nou on Wednesday, when Godin can expect a torrid reception from Barcelona supporters.

Wednesday’s first leg finished 1-1, with David Villa opening the scoring against his former side before Barca’s €57 million attacker Neymar equalised as a second half substitute.
