~*~2013 NBA Season Thread - Playoff Are Here ~*~

Re: ~**~**~**~ 2013 NBA Offseason and Draft Thread~**~**~

Yea, that's why I said the Pacers will force the Heat's hand to get better.
He's a better Birdman, but you may have Chris Anderson as the backup center.
The depth chart could look like this, assuming no one is traded...

Chalmers/Cole
Wade/Allen/Miller
James/Battier/Lewis
Bosh/Haslem
Dalembert/Anderson

non dress

Jones/Oden

What do you think?

Certainly would be the favorites to win the type again and you could argue that they clearly improved

They could play a more conventional lineup and not get abused inside so much

I thought they could've played conventional this year, using Bosh and Anderson at the same time, but we know who's the coach. James, Allen, Miller, Bosh and Birdman could've been nasty.

Spo have a great core of multi crafted group of players, James, Shane, Wade, Bosh and Miller.

These folks hardly played throught the season...

Miller - way underused, skills to do everything
Lewis - versatile
Jones - marksman

That's without addressing the possibility of them pursuing JJ Redick to replace Ray Allen in 2014. If they decide to, I'll look at it as filling that spot a year early.

The Milwaukee Bucks have interest in J.R. Smith and Chris Copeland.

Smith and Copeland are free agents of the New York Knicks.

The Bucks are in a position to potentially offer more money to Smith and Copeland than the Knicks.

Smith was the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year.

Eric Gordon 'Very Available' In Trade Talks
Jun 26, 2013 12:49 PM EDT

The New Orleans Pelicans are making Eric Gordon "very available" in trade talks, according to a source that spoke with RealGM.

Gordon signed a four-year, $58 million deal with the Phoenix Suns last offseason that was matched by the Pelicans. Gordon badly wanted to play for the Suns and was publicly disappointed by the Pelicans' decision to match.

Gordon played in just 42 games last season due to a continued string of injuries.

A handful of teams were very much interested in Garnett or Pierce...I wonder if Brooklyn will flip either of them before the season starts

I was hoping Ray would test the market. Good result for the Heat though.

Hammond: Bucks determined to retain Jennings -
By Charles F. Gardner

12:31 p.m.

Bucks general manager John Hammond said the team will be aggressive in trying to sign point guard Brandon Jennings to a long-term contract when the league's free agency period opens Monday.

The Bucks already have made a $4.3 million qualifying offer to Jennings to retain the right to match any other offers for the restricted free agent.

Jennings has been the Bucks starting point guard since he was selected 10th overall in the 2009 draft. He played in all but two games last season and averaged 17.5 points and a career-best 6.5 assists. He had a streak of 182 consecutive games played before sitting out two games late in the regular season.

"It's our intention for Brandon Jennings to remain a Milwaukee Buck," Hammond said Friday. "We're hoping to negotiate with him fairly through the July process.

"At the conclusion of our negotiations if we have not reached a deal and they choose to go out and seek an opportunity in the open market, our intention then would still be to match."

The Bucks introduced the two players they acquired in Thursday's draft, Greek forward Giannis Antetokounmpo and South Dakota State guard Nate Wolters, in a news conference Friday morning.

Hammond said Jennings' importance to the Bucks over the last four years was evident.

"I don't think we should ever negate what Brandon has done for us over the last four years," Hammond said. "In his two years in the NBA he's been on two playoff teams. He's made tremendous efforts for us.

"He's been a warrior. It would be very unfair to us to underrate his prominence within our team."

Jennings has started 289 of 291 games in his four years with the Bucks and has averaged 17.0 points while shooting 35.4% from three-point range.

"He's been tremendous and he's been very positive," Hammond said of his conversations with Jennings.

Hammond also said he was excited about the two players introduced Friday. The Bucks surprised many observers by taking the 18-year-old Antetokounmpo, the youngest player in the draft, with the 15th overall pick.

"It's a pretty simple description, the guys who can pass and catch," Hammond said. "You can't do one well without the other.

"If you're a good passer, you usually have good hands and you can catch the ball. I think we added two guys who know how to play and have a great feel for the game. And one with Nate, we think is a player who can get on the floor and play for us immediately.

"And I don't want to say that Giannis cannot do that. Who knows?"

Wolters was acquired in a complicated trade scenario on Thursday night. He was picked 38th overall by Washington, but Philadelphia acquired the pick and shipped Wolters' rights to the Bucks in return for 43rd pick Ricky Ledo and a future second-round pick.

Ledo eventually wound up in Dallas through another deal.

The Bucks sent a 2014 second-round pick to the 76ers, the pick acquired last year in the Samuel Dalembert trade with Houston. Milwaukee still has its own second-round pick in next year's draft.

Re: ~**~**~**~ 2013 NBA Offseason and Draft Thread~**~**~

If Heat gets Sam D and resign Birdweirdo they will be favorites to win again. I give props where it is due but as a Bulls fan this makes me sick......

Re: ~**~**~**~ 2013 NBA Offseason and Draft Thread~**~**~

Props to Mask for staying on it just like last summer. I will admit I'm kind of out of this because my team is almost done but I will still put up as much news as I can.

Props to Mask again and Curry

Latest I heard AL-47 opt out, Houston meeting with Dwight first and Warriors trying to get a visit, Dallas and Boston involve with trade talks for Rondo

waiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit a fucking min

So not only do the Celtics take on Gerald Wallace contract but do this????

NBA Legion ‏@MySportsLegion 44m

Keith Bogans, who made $854,000 last season, will make $15 million over the next three seasons for being traded to the Celtics. Nice raise!

Re: ~**~**~**~ 2013 NBA Offseason and Draft Thread~**~**~

NBA Legion ‏@MySportsLegion 2m

Nate Robinson will not resign with the Bulls and will seek a multiyear deal this summer. Mavericks and Wizards both interested.

this was expected

Re: ~**~**~**~ 2013 NBA Offseason and Draft Thread~**~**~

Shawn Marion as expected will not opt out of his contract and will get paid 9 million by the mavs

Chris Paul agent has cancel meetings with the Mavs and Atlanta has informed teams he will resign with the Clippers

The Nets plan is to target Kevin Durant in 2015-2016 season.

Raptors are in the lead to land Bledsoe

Nets Stats ‏@NetsStats 6m

Being under the tax-line in 15'-16' will allow the Nets to do sign-and-trades, as @NetsDaily notes. Kevin Durant will be a free agent.

Nets Stats ‏@NetsStats 7m

Kevin Durant is now repped by former Nets owner Jay-Z.

Chris Broussard ‏@Chris_Broussard 27m

Sources: Chris Paul's reps telling opposing teams not to bother pursuing him on July 1 bc he'll re-sign with Clippers

Re: ~**~**~**~ 2013 NBA Offseason and Draft Thread~**~**~

Durant to the nets? Yup I see it

Re: ~**~**~**~ 2013 NBA Offseason and Draft Thread~**~**~

AK-47 must have lost his damn mind. He opted out of his contract from Minnesota that would have paid him $10 million. He must think he can land more years and more money.

As far as Kevin Durant goes, eh I could possibly see it if things continue to unfold with the Thunder the way they have.

Re: ~**~**~**~ 2013 NBA Offseason and Draft Thread~**~**~

Y'all ain't ready for McGee in that starting lineup.

Re: ~**~**~**~ 2013 NBA Offseason and Draft Thread~**~**~

waiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit a fucking min

So not only do the Celtics take on Gerald Wallace contract but do this????

Wtf

5 mil for bogans lmaoko

Bogans winning

For the record: only year one has to be guaranteed in any sign-and-trade contract, so there's a chance that Bogans will "only" earn $4.4 million next season and that's that. You think he'd mind? He made $4.7 million in the last four seasons combined.

Re: ~**~**~**~ 2013 NBA Offseason and Draft Thread~**~**~

They want Dirk's expiring contract.

Them niggas can kick rocks

And CP3 staying with the Clippers this is no shock after they got Doc

And Doc is a good coach but him alone is not going to propel that roster into real contenders

CP3 low key playing himself
