Ehh I don't know about that one, this show is great because of its acting I don't know if that would come across in an animated series.

Why would I go to a thread containing spoilers when I haven't read the books only to receive an answer to a question which wouldn't contain a spoiler?
Because it would be in good taste to refrain from asking about book plots and storylines in a thread dedicated to the TV show alone.
Asking about a book detail effectively does a few things; 1) ruins the book for those of us who plan on reading it at some point 2) gives away possible spoilers for future revelations that have not yet been revealed on the show 3) goes against whats been constantly discussed in this thread.
This is a TV show thread. Where we discuss whats happpened on the show and what we speculate may happen based on what we have been shown in the show. Asking for book tips can effectively ruin that experience.

As far as the characters in the book and show know, she was kidnapped and raped. The only person who may have known any different was ned cuz he was the last person to see her alive.
Her being carried off by the prince is what set the chain of events that got her bro and pop killed, not the other way around.

This is a non spoiler T.V. Show thread which means we don't or shouldn't discuss anything that hasn't occured or could potentially occur in future episodes/seasons.
The question I asked was already addressed and discussed in the first season of the show. I simply asked for an already discussed event to be clarified. Also considering the show is going in sequential order and each season is based on a particular book there is very little chance that they are somehow going to double back and re-do book one in an up coming season.
I like you haven't read the books so I don't want any potential future storylines or events spoiled in this thread (which is what the other thread is for). However discussing things that haven't appeared in the show but is already a past event based on where the show is now and can in no way spoil anything in the future is fair game in this thread.
If you personally feel that nothing from the books should be discussed until you get around to reading the books then you might want to start your own "Super-Duper Absolutely Nothing But The Show Discussion Thread (No Book, TV Show, Speculation, Spoiler Discussion Thread)".

Allegedly Lyanna was at a Tournament with her brothers and Rhaegar won it and gave her some flowers or something. Lyanna disappears from Winterfell, is said to be with or captured by Rhaegar. Lord Rickkard Stark of Winterfell goes to KL to demand the Mad King make Rhaegar return Lyanna Mad King says fuck you arrests Lord Stark and Brandon Stark heads to KL ready for a fight. Lyanna and Rhaegar are not seen, Robert was engaged to Lyanna but never knew her as Ned often thought to himself. Mad King puts Lord Stark on trial by combat when Brandon arrives...his champion is wildfire. Rickkard Stark burns alive while Brandon is choked to death trying to save him. Robert Jon Arryn and Ned call banners and rebel. Robert kills Rhaegar is battle of trident with a hammer...Lyanna still hasn't been seen. Ned goes to sack KL, Jamie kills Mad King while Tywin's forces betray Targaryen trust and sack KL for Robert. Lyanna is not in KL so Ned goes to the Tower of the Joy in Dorne to rescue his sister. She is there yelling for Ned while being guarded by Rhaegar's top Knights. Ned and Howland Reed survive a battle with the Knights. Lyanna is alive surrounded by blood and makes Ned promise her something which he does, Lyanna dies and Robert vows to kill the whole Targaryen line while Ned returns to Winterfell with his bastard and Howland Reed returns to the swap for some frog gumbo
I Stopped reading after this because you solidified my point. That being the case, why discuss something that occurred in the book that will eventually be revealed in the show? If you wanna discuss what happened in the book go to the fucking book thread. Has nothing to do with bullshit rules i create. Its a common courtesy that isnt that hard to pay. Its really that simple. I would only say to end this that it has never been said or agreed that we couldn't or wouldn't discuss the book in this thread at all. What has been said is that we wouldn't or shouldn't discuss anything that appears in the book that can possibly spoil something that will happen in future eoisodes/seasons. Any non spoiler book material that has already happened at this point in the story and can't spoil any future material is fair to discuss.

Yeah I was just watching the first season Blu Ray and they discussed all of this in a storyboard history of the events that led to and preceded the events in the first season. Thatst shit was interesting and would make a great story.
Maybe a movie prequal of these events would be plausible but I don't see it happening.
I agree and disagree. A lot of movies/tv shows are based on books yet those who've read those works can still enjoy those stories when they're brought to screen as long as they are done right.
But I agree GRRM needs to concentrate on those last two books before the show catches his ass and they run out of material to cover on the show.

I tried to stay out of this but you all are killing me. The event in question DIDN'T HAPPEN IN THE BOOKs. There's nothing in the book (other than some idle speculation by a few characters) that informs the reader what exactly happened with Lyanna Stark.
It's the primary mystery in the whole series (along with Jon Snow's parents). So anyone who states what happened is speculating pure and simple.
So nothing is being spoiled here unless you consider any and all of the back story before the first book started a spoiler.
