UFC 161 takes place this Saturday, live on PPV, and features a main event of light heavyweight Dan Henderson battling former champion Rashad Evans.

Yeah - hard to follow that camp the past year. They've had 1 or 2 of the coaches/trainers depart. Melvin G' left ... Bigfoot Silva's had his ups & downs (he was formerly with them) ... Rashad's had mixed results ... Overeem got blasted by Silva ... and Belfort's loving TRT Life.

I was always waiting for Evans to tap into his talents and step into that next level..He never did and I don't know if he ever will...Dan is ALWAYS a threat and will knock you out if you slip up. Could be an exciting fight or a boring wrestling match...

And am I the only one who thought Tyrone Woodley has next? What the hell happened...

Prelims start in a few hours.

Woodley ... I think he'll be too much for Shields. Woodley got the decision over Mein in 3 rounds ... got KO'd by Marquardt, and KO'd Hieron in less than 45 seconds. He's a talent though.

I hope we get to see Henderson implement his wrestling again at some point ... before he ever retires. Evans looks to be in very good shape (similar to how he prepared for Tito Ortiz in 2011 or so).

Some good fights on the televised prelims. HD Barry & Big Country Nelson are always fun to watch ... keep an eye on them in their respective bouts.

Rashad ever since Machida knocked him out is scared to get knocked out, so he wrestles and makes the fight boring. This is what is going to happen tonight, unless we get lucky and Dan catches his ass with a devil of an over hand and send him to sleep.

Problem with that fight plan is that Dan is a great wrestler, too. If he stuffs Rashad's take-downs, it's gonna come down to throwing hands: Rashad's speed vs Dan's power. Dan can take a punch; Rashad can't.

I wonder if that happened with Barry. Although he got hit with a mean uppercut.

Yeah - big fan of both fighters. Too much respect shown though (despite the stoppage from Jordan). Same thing happened to Barry when he fought his "idol" Mirko Crocop in 2010 or 2011. He showed him a shitload of respect. Ended up breaking a hand and a foot early on or whatever, and then it became a lovefest in there and Crocop (of all people) subbed him. And we all saw how up & down Crocop's entire UFC run was (even though he was a BEAST in Pride).
