Yeah a guy with 5 rings and 7 championship appearances with more heart than any other player in basketball right now. A player that would rip your heart out and hand it to you with a smile on his face. Let Durant get even half of Kobe's heart and he's a champion every year.
I don't think that Cleveland to was as bad as people want to believe. Carmelo went to a losing Denver team and change the franchise around do you hear hear people keep mentioning that?
give Durant Shaq at his prime, hell give him and two MVP level runs (playoffs and finals) from Pau Gasol instead of Ibaka and Perkins and Durant too would have all those rings
Kobe is all time with it-not taking anything away from him, but Durant just does not have the coach, the GM, the annual money for talent, nor does he have the surrounding talent.
If by heart you mean a top 3 coach of all time, a top 3 Center of all time, a top post player, and great role players, then yes, give Durant have of that "heart" and he too will win a handful of rings.

You got a 17 point lead and got Fisher, Ibaka, and Perkins shooting while he runs up and down the court like the game was already over start shooting again once they lose the lead. Durant isn't a high volume shooter, he is a very good scorer when he is open (and it dosn't take much for him to be open)however his comfort zone is not shooting and forcing shots when he isn't covered...
I said after game two in the finals, the way to beat OKC is to make Durant a high volume shooter from the outside and to drive him into the teeth of the defense, and instead of trying to block his shot, use quick feet to draw a charge the key is to contain the other players and try to wear Durant down..
With no Westbrook the task became much easier..
Durant dosn't need to do anything, he is what he is going to be, what the team needs to do is surround him with players that will complement his style of playing, similar to what the Lakers do with Kobe... If the Thunder does this they should be ok in the future..

Rudy Gay is a great offensive player but has the "melo" disease...his value is within an isolation-based offense, not a motion or pick/roll offense. iow, he didn't fit into their scheme.

Naw, he had to make the deal. Harden was going to be the first guy to do what people think Wall will do in denying the extension & playing on the qualifying offer. Then he becomes an UFA & imagine how bad that would look.
