I will take LEBRON JAMES over in his PRIME over

Dude named bench player HOFer Ray Allen. So I named bench player Robert Parrish who is a HOFer. Jordan also played with HOFer George Gervin. Its sad when his fans know so little about his early career because they are obsessed with the marketing campaigns and narratives Phil Knight/Nike/Stern sold to them AFTER he started winning titles.

Fam, Jordan was the shit in the 80's. Those 90's chips were a foregone conclusion. Parrish was damn near in a wheel chair riding the bench for the Bulls. You funny tho. You officially jumped the shark with the Parrish comment.

It's a shame that people stain Mike with all these other "other factors" for why he won. Mike had that same killer instinct the first 6 years of his career and in 95 when he lost to Orlando. Shit he even had it on the wizards. He won because he was more skilled and worked harder not because of some mystical intangibles.

When I see dudes go to these ducktales and feel the need to overembellish Jordan, it makes you realize just how great LeBron is. I never thought I'd see a bball player in my lifetime that makes people react that way. But LeBron does. Jordan never went thru people moving goal posts on him. He's never been booed in every arena for a whole season. He never took a stand for anything off the court (outside of his brand) and was that dude that wanted to be liked and marketable to everybody. This is the guy that said "Republicans buy sneakers too" when we (the blacks in NC) asked him to back former Charlotte mayor Harvey Gantt who is black.. This is the guy that QUIT THE GAME when he felt the slightest bit of negative press from his gambling exploits. And what did he do? Go play for some low level Triple AAA baseball team where the kitchen wasnt as hot and he could be below the radar. And when he was done embarassing himself in that, and the media heat died down, what did he do? Go back to being in the spotlight again. Mike couldnt walk in LeBron's shoes. He needed to be liked, and would've fell apart if people was clowning his mom and all the other little slick shit they do to Bron.

Jordan was the shit in the 80s. And whether he dropped 60 in a loss or a win didnt matter, just as long as he dropped 60. He wouldnt survive today with the pressure we put on guys like Bron to win out the gate or you a choker.

He had the same pressure playing at NC with Worthy and Perkins. Shit, playing at NC period. When he got to the league everyone realized that the only goal for MJ was titles because by '90 he was obviously one of the best players in league history if not the best (at the time).

Jordan has never been booed in every arena he played in for a year, much less two. In fact, in most arenas he was cheered by opposing fans. Everyone back then understand that portraying Jordan as infalliable even when he was going out in the 2nd round was what was "good for the game". Just like Stern changed the rules to open lanes for Jordan to do all that high flying stuff for the "good of the game".

Real talk. I don't agree with you much but you damn sure hit the head on the nail. With some of this.

so his gambling problem and the murder of his father had nothing to do with him leaving the game right? :smh:

yall are officially sick man

Mike still has a gambling problem

i know

let him tell it mike had it easy and no adversity and he's soft apparently.

the things about his political views has absolutely NOTHING to do with what he did on the court.

talking about he couldn't walk in lebron's shoes because people talk slick about lebron's mom

when they actually murdered his fucking father

that type of shit makes people ignore what they say.

like lebron wasn't crowned king before he even entered the nba like the backlash was within the last year he was with the cavs and the first year he was with the heat. after that its been love fest and love affair and you can't sit here and lie and say it hasn't and there's nothing wrong with that at all.

lebron is loved everywhere. if you don't live in cleveland you have no problems with lebron james and that's just what it is. and when he was in cleveland there were no problems with lebron james...and i am speaking overall not 2 or 3 agenda based writers.

talking about people didn't hate jordan?
all the old heads on this entire damn forum who didn't root for the bulls OPENLY STATE THAT THEY HATED JORDAN and that they didn't even acknowledge him as being goat until he was retired

Never said he had it "easy". Just said he didnt come in the game with the pressure and the expectations to win that LeBron did. As long as he got his 60, shoes were sold and dude was sold as the game's best player. We told LeBron you have to win ring(s) just to be considered great. We told Michael, win the slam dunk contest.

the things about his political views has absolutely NOTHING to do with what he did on the court.

It just shows how we went to great lengths to minimize his flaws. Back then during that time, thats what you did. You didnt make Jordan punching Kerr in the face in practice a front page story or microanalyze why it happened like today. We've done the opposite with LeBron his entire career to this point. Microanalyze everything, examine all flaws because we don't want to believe a player could be as good or better than Mike.

He couldnt. He couldnt handle the pressure of being scorned in the media and people clowning him and his family constantly. He was cheered his whole career. Opposing fans in the playoffs cheering him on as he beat their teams. It was "good for the game". Dude didnt walk LeBron's path. He never played the "villain" role. There was never hordes of fans cheering for him NOT to win.

It hasnt been a "love affair". The NBA the past 5 years has been lets ask LeBron to kick the FG 75 yards, lets ask Rose, Durant, Melo, and all his peers that we feel sorry for to kick it 20 yards. And whether they win a ring or not, we still gone ride for them. People still feel like LeBron has this "unfair advantage" and he's had it "easy" because he came in with so much hype, so they ask him to do just a little bit more than his peers.

Nobody hated Jordan. Everybody was in awe of him. And when he lost, you look the other way. Kinda like how we do 1995. It never happened. Jordan never lost. Its for the "good of the game".

the pressure came because they already crowned him before he even entered the league. that is why there was pressure. and it was fine for the first 6 years of his career.

i disagree with you. it had nothing to do with jordan and everything to do with the league the nba the way journalist covered things back then. there were unspoken rules then that aren't in place now. now you have to guard your grill because the journalist today are more interested in getting a story and being scum than keeping some things in house and reporting on actual stories.

He couldnt. He couldnt handle the pressure of being scorned in the media and people clowning him and his family constantly. He was cheered his whole career. again dismissing his father dying. he openly stated he loves when people cheer and root against him. he used it as fuel so how couldn't he handle it..?

disagree that's just how you perceive it but you're view is slanted. you paint lebron as hero and champion of the people. he isn't he is the best basketball player in the nba. that's it. that's all he needs to be. you went off into this other stuff that had nothing to do with on the court to uplift lebron but why? he doesn't need to be lifted up. he's never not been considered amongst the best in todays nba. we only feel sorry for people who don't have the luxury of playing with who lebron plays with. when lebron was on the cavs we felt sorry for him too and was upset because the gm couldn't put any talent around him. we were disappointed in the fact that they never got talent there to help him win.

Nobody hated Jordan. Everybody was in awe of him. And when he lost, you look the other way. Kinda like how we do 1995. It never happened. Jordan never lost. Its for the "good of the game".

no you're wrong. they did hate him when he was active.
all of this love came after he was gone and they could appreciate him for what he was and he wasn't killing their teams dreams.

Tell me, who was Mike's "Skip Bayless"? Who was that journalist that clowned him and got paid clowning him his first 7 years? Was there such a person? Nope. It wouldnt be "good for the game" back then.

that's the change in climate that's the change in tv that's the change in journalism that's the change in the way we get our information.

its not a point for lebron or a detraction from jordan

its the culture of the land and the way journalism has declined through the years. its sad.

there's a reason skip bayless was a regular journalist in sports towns who just wrote columns and many of us hadn't heard of him till he was on tv

and there's a reason he hasn't been acting an ass on tv for as long as he's been a journalist.

it just wasn't allowed

Interesting discussion,
I would like to say Kobe and MJ had superior coaching compared to Lebron, and far better teams. If you look at the team Lebron got to the finals in 2007 with Mike Brown and compare to the Lakers last year and this year. Do you pick the Cavs over the Lakers? Replace Jordan or Kobe with Lebron on that 2007 Cavs team, does the team do better?

In the end it's all about the rings and eff Kobe,

You can't compare Lebron to Jordan until he gets a theme song, it's waste of time.

LeBron needs 2 or 3 more championships. I don't think he needs 6 like Jordan, to be considered the better player.

February 12, 2013.

LeBron James becomes the 1st player in NBA history to have 6 straight games of 30+ points while shooting 60% or better. Jordan never did it, Wilt never did it, Kareem never did it, Moses Malone never did it. And the beauty of the 6 games is, the Heat won every single one.
