Actually he was looking out for more than someone else.He was looking out for tha integrity officers of tha law are supposed to have.Beating people up because you're mad and then covering up your tracks isn't part of tha job description of a police officer.No integrity means you're no better than tha criminals you're paid to keep in check and off tha streets and Mr.Dorner didn't sign up to become a "legal" criminal.
