Wow you keep trying to shit on the battery life and the rest of us are not complaining about. What's really going on?

It didn't work for me. :(

You have to go into setting and approve apps not downloaded from the app store. I have the S3 too and I downloaded it to my Mac, and then dragged and dropped the file onto my phone's SD card.

Simple as pie.

Battery life also depends on what apps are running, if you have animated screen saver, all that runs the battery down. the one thing i dont like about the android, apps will run and you dont know they are running unless u check running apps, like example. I downloaded the bible, i havent used the bible app in a week but it still starts running on its own even tho i stop it.

I read on XDA a reason for that. They were saying that in order to optimize android's performance it keep apps open in the background so when you need it it opens the app faster and retains the aspect the app was previously in.

They also argue on that board that apps like Task Killer and Juice defender contribute to more battery drain because they are constantly scanning the phone.

:dunno: I don't know. YMMV I guess. This was a personal test for me and I'm happy so far. I'm try to "condition" the battery so I wait until it is near 0% before charging. Hopefully it will help in the long run.

Press the square icon on the right and login..

yeah i figured it out, BIG THANKS for the link. I tried to install the taptalk pro i had on my bionic but it wouldn't let me type anything in the search box. The board looks better on my SG3 than it does on my laptop, i have my fonts set to "rosemary" and gives the whole phone display a better look

Question: I was reading where the flight attendant stole the ipad and it was mentioned android has an anti-theft device? Can we get the name of it here? I think it was said Lookout

I have lookout now on here I guess I need to make sure it's set up correctly

Yeah, make sure you register it on Lookout's website so your device can be activated when lost.

Other apps I suggest:
Hide It Pro (Hide anything on your phone. Pics, vids, files, even other apps)
Go SMS (Fully customize your text messenger. Assign different ringtones, notification icons, even the led color to individual contacts. It also has a good privacy feature)
UPM - Universal Password Manager (Keep all of your passwords, account numbers, login credentials, etc hidden, organized, and protected)

Still liking mine so far. I think it's just a matter of getting everything set to your liking and then feel comfortable with it. Early this morning I was missing the iphone but then It was only because all my familiar settings were on the iphone. Yes, I agree that the SG3 does more than the iphone and the experience is more liberating but not necessarily better.

The battery was very good today. It started out with 80% in the morning and with heavy internet use only, it is at 20% now (11.15pm)

There is a 70% chance that I will keep the SG3 and I am interested in seeing how the jelly bean even makes it better.

So, final verdict from all of you who had the iPhone? Do you miss the calendar, notifications exchange sync, App Store? I have a family full of iPhones and when I buy an app they all get to use the same app, even on all of the iPads linked to my account. I buy an app and it gets installed on 6 devices. I want to make the switch, I really do but that benefit alone is stalling me out. Any insight on that?

The only I missed was visual voice mail and at&t helped me with that yesterday. As of yet, I have NO regrets

Its not automatic, but all you have to do is open up the Play Store and it'll show you what is not on the phone yet. Personally I don't like having everything automatically downloaded for me since apps on my tablet tend to be different in their usefulness on my phone and vice versa.

As for the calendar, I don't see how anyone finds it useful on iOS. Having to remember to go into the calendar app every day just is a pain. On Android I can just set up a calendar widget and see exactly whats going on for that day from the home screen. If I need more info I click the widget and get the full calendar. I own an iPad, a Transformer, and a S3 and my calendar is always synced across all three devices.

I'm tired of apple. I think I'm going to do the trial period at the AT&T store. They let you run it for a week and if it doesn't mesh then you can either switch back or try something else. Thanks that info.

Lookout is what I use....It is a backup, anti virus and phone locator ..

Anyone know how to get videos to play on their phones via allshare, wi-fi, dlna..etc... I'm able to view the pics and and listen to the music with no problem but none of the vids will play. Even the vids from the phone i put on the computer won't play when i try to play them back on my phone

what video player are you using? File format? Stock android player will only play mp4. get BS Player, it will play anything you throw at it, and you can stream to your pc.

Something I notice today while listening to music on S3 with any kind of headphones the volume is not as loud as the iphone or ipod.
Get Volume+
