Mac Miller

I cant comment on that phone convo, but i will say this. Mac Miller is basically stunting for his fan base right now. He knew that law suit was coming a long time ago.

When in doubt, lets bring our own doubt to the masses. Hence Mac saying Finesse didnt clear the original sample.

Its a PR move on Mac Millers part. I know his camp really well, since the days of them mixing it up on all the websites. Even have a record in the stash i did with him. But i must say i disagree with him making a killing on tour off that record, and not dropping The Legendary Lord Finesse a couple of dollars.

Bottom Line...:yes::yes::yes::yes:

Has he dropped a couple of dollars to everyone he sampled

K.I.D.S. was a mixtape sold for free, it wasn't retail so why would he legally need to clear a sample? If Mac did not blow then Finesse wouldn't even bat an eye. I don't see the lawsuit?

I feel you on this, but damn if this goes down then nobody can rap over previous beats on their mixtapes.

fuckin mixtape came out TWO years ago, and was FREE.

this shit aint goin no where.

The nerve of the last generation of hiphop- these dudes from the so called "golden era"

I'm pissed because I remember when they cracked down on sampling there was song after song, done by artists upon artist riffing about how fucked up it was they were being charged.

Often the retort was "these ol niggas ought to be glad we reviving them"

CL SMooths line in "straighten it out" was ".. better than the original, who first made it"

Stetsasonic said "tell the truth, James Brown was old, til Eric and Rak came out wit I got souuuul"

And now THIS?

Lupe gettin dissed by Pete ROck, now this kid?

Cmon dudes- stop it.

Isn't this an issue of who owns the master to Lord Finesse's song? If he own's them, it doesn't matter that he sampled in the composition. He may have a case. If MM had just remade the song using the original sample and his own drums there wouldn't be an issue.

But, the minute you "sample" directly from someone's master recording you are liable. (Ironic aint it?)

If you sample "I get money" from The Audio Two's Top Billin', you have to deal with them. But if you sample that exact phrase from 50 Cent's I Get Money, you have to deal with 50.

You cannot put someone's commercial master on yours.

This Wouldn't Be The First Time Mac Miller Got Into Sum Problems Over Stolen Beats

:lol::lol::lol:

that kid thinks he really emailed Mac Miller instead of someone who works for him.

In other news, that song just made me a Mac Miller fan. flow was aight. I'm two years late, but thanks Lord FInesse! I'm gonna BUY the album that your beat AINT on!

so you don't see the difference in sampling and just hopping on instrumentals?

GOOD JOB SIR YOU UNDERSTAND..:yes::yes: I REFUSE TO KEEP ARGUING WITH PEOPLE WHO DONT WORK IN THE FIELD I WORK IN EVERYDAY..

I DO AGREE IF FINESSE COMES OUT A WINNER, THIS MIGHT EFFECT MIXTAPES AS A WHOLE.. BUT I REALLY DONT CARE, BECAUSE RAPPERS DROP A LOT OF TRASH ANYWAY.

It's not about YOUNG or OLD artists... It's about clearance... and if you don't get clearance... THEN DON'T DO IT... :smh:
If Mac didn't get clearance to use it... Then... OH WELL... He might be in trouble...
Regardless of what Lord Finesse got cleared when he made his song...
This isn't an issue Mac using the SAME SAMPLE... He used Finesse's SONG... so we'll see how this plays out...:popcorn::popcorn:

so you don't see the difference in sampling and just hopping on instrumentals?

theres a lot of gray area there, that was set by the original argument FOR sampling.

If taking a piece of an original composition, in many cases, 4 to 8 bars, adding drums and lyrics makes it a new song,

then rapping new lyrics, over the instrumental is indeed a new song.

If he didn't compose the first composition, then HE aint who should be suing.

In the case of Frank Ocean and the Eagles, I was all for the Eagles speaking on it, cuz it really was their composition.

but anyway...

tell the truth, Lord Finess was lame, til Mac Miller came with that HIP TO DA GAME

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

so he's basing the valuation of the entire touring career off of one record from a mix tape? i never heard it myself but 10 million is excessive

stop wait i just listened to it and I'm sure this isn't the first time this track was used by someone else to gain notoriety and popularity. In essence, to benefit from it without a clearance. Now maybe the difference is the presentation of this as a full song with video but if they can find any other person or people who have done so then questions will have to be answered about why is mac miller being the one sued. interesting though, someone's lawyer said the wrong shit probably.

These young kids stealing an entire style then rapping about having swag. :smh:

It's the main reason I don't listen to these new guys. It's not that they are unoriginal, it's the fact is they believe they are exceptional.

I think it's the video that has Finesse upset about it...

peace

Finesse still DJ'ing? I'd give anything to have my Finesse mixtape collection back.

I'm happy Finesse is doing good, I like the whole DITC especially OC. I do believe Mac made money by touring but the fact that one can sue over a mixtape is strange. Lil Wayne, Jay- z and many more have used others songs on mixtapes and they didn't get sued. More power to him though...
Here you go, Fam

11 FreePower,
tell ya man/da 7 him & Apollo dropped a InstantClassicBanga.
Ain't nothing fucking with that shit right now out:smh:

fuck a Mac Miller
Basically

peace

Mac Miller Dead of an Apparent Overdose

hvy_breakingnews_2_6-1.jpg

Mac Miller has died of an apparent overdose, per a report by TMZ. The 26-year-old rapper reportedly had trouble with substance abuse in the wake of his breakup from Ariana Grande, and was found on Friday.

Miller recently wrecked his G-Wagon and was subsequently arrested for a DUI after he fled the scene, eventually blowing two times the legal limit when police found him at his home.

After being arrested, Miller posted a $15,000 bail and was released early in the morning of May 17. His family has not yet commented on his death, nor have police confirmed that an overdose was the cause of his death
