That's a fundamental issue of black leadership and not necessarily on every black man out there imo.

We need those who have it in them to step up and lead all of us like they did. The ones who claim to be leaders now don't impact the community because people see through their bullshit

This thread, to me, has nothing to do with Dr. King or the civil rights struggle; and it has nothing to do with white people- by and large. This thread, to me, is more about how we (blacks) make decisions and how we value each other and ourselves.

In other words, when you're constantly and subconsciously observing yourself, and others, from the vantage of the majority it becomes easy to overlook the beauty and reward of being with another who's apart of the minority. The majority offers all the benefits of being associated with the majority. Factoring our sorted past, with said majority, and it becomes clear how skewed those benefits can appear. Often, subconsciously, people make the decision to veer toward the majority because they want to distance themselves from the perceived publicized and reinforced weakness of the minority. For a race that's suffered the constant trauma we have, a mass exodus is disappointing but not surprising.

You're not a sell out if you date a white chick or marry one... or fuck one. You're a sell out when you start making excuses for why you prefer white chicks or white dudes, especially when those excuse directly or indirectly further perpetuate the myth of black inferiority. For example, they treat me better, they're on my level, they're more stable, they're more motivated, they do this or that, blah blah blah. I used to be totally against interracial relationships but as I've gotten older it doesn't faze me anymore. Although I feel its not for me I refuse to criticize others. Its no one's business except the involved and their families.
