Official BREAKING BAD Season 4 Discussion Thread 10p SUNDAYS

Jesse is beginning to lose faith in Walt's ability to out smart Gus like he would out smart people in the past. Jesse is seeing Gus clearly for what he is... the guy Walt was pretending to be when they were dealing with street dealers.

The question Jesse has been dealing with is, do you stay loyal to a motherfucker who is going to ruin both of you and has had too many close calls that have lucked up into working themselves out or the guy who is proving time and time and again that he has everything figured out so that he eventually wins in the end.....:dunno:

I have to disagree with this. I don't think Jessie ever had faith in Walt like that, I just think he followed him because he knew at the end of the day Walt was going to make a better decision than him.

You have to remember "this" Jessie has just appeared this season. Walt was cleaning Jessie's fuck ups in the beginning which is what was causing Walt all those problems (the girlfriend, drug addiction, when Jessie wanted revenge for his girlfriends little brother and Walt shot the guys for them, almost getting caught by Hank when going to warn Jessie he was coming after him, etc.).

Until this year Jessie was fucking up and Walt was constantly saving him. The thing that started Walt down this road was staying loyal to Jessie when Gus wanted Jessie gone. The only thing Jessie can do is stay loyal to Walt because Walt showed him that loyalty in the past when it would have been much easier to to turn his back on him.

You might be right... I can't think of a believable way that shit can continue much longer without Gus or Walt dying. If Gus goes then the government is going to fuck them over and if not... Walt has to go.

Well Walt isn't going anywhere until maybe the end of the show so if one is going to die this season its going to be Gus.

I could see Gus lasting another season with the pressure from the DEA becoming even stronger, and maybe Gus is hanging over Walts head even more except its being done with Walt as the outsider, trying to figure out an angle to get back in the business and save himself and family.

I see your point, but I don't think Jesse was in the right mind to realize that that Walt was just making better decisions. Up until now Jesse's experience has been that it was them against everyone else and as much as Jesse would try his own thing or how deep they got in some shit... Walt always had the right idea, not just a better idea and I think he was so irrational that he didn't even see how lucky they were half the time.

Now he is seeing a guy who has everything planned out to the end and it isn't some half-assed, last second plan that some how works out when there really wasn't much light at the end of the tunnel. Even when Gus is doing risky shit like the cartel thing... it doesn't seem as crazy because he doesn't become belligerent like Walt does over every move.

Jesse is still being loyal to Walt to a certain extent, but it is more out of pity imo, because if he thought he had to pay Walt back... on some real shit... he wouldn't have fuck over Walt's sole source of usefulness and his only real safety net.

In talking about Jesse's past fuck ups... I thought of another way out for Walt... Jesse fucks it up once again, by getting back on the dope or skimming. :smh:

That buys some time for the big showdown.

I don't see Jessie getting hooked again. They've run that into the ground and with him plunging so deep earlier this season it would be weak and redundant to have him slip back.

Honestly, after looking at the previews for the upcoming episodes, I think Jessie might still stick to the plan and try to poison Gus. I noticed a point in the previews where Jessie looks nervous and seems to be sitting in a hospital when the brother (the silent cat who works for Mike and Gus) just suddenly rushes him and they seem to start to wrestle.

what are the chances gustavo is still alive by the end of the season

maybe mike will join up with walter to kill gus

mike might feel betrayed by gus for leaving him in mexico or not taking care of him the way those doctor left him in the car

I wouldn't be surprised if Gus is alive at the end of this season. He's such a good character I could see them keeping him for one more season.

I don't think Mike is leaving Gus. Those doctors not working on him was more about them and not Gus, plus Gus knows his place.

I addition Mike knows Walt is no match at anytime for Gus. Mike is just muscle, Gus is the brains and Mike knows this. There is no way in hell Mike would work for Walt since he doesn't respect him at all.

If you remember Walt tried to get Mike to turn on Gus in the beginning of this season and got stomped out in the bar for it.

yea but 2 episodes left

we have to see an end of mike some how

they cant just leave him in mexico and not show him again

btw that 6 mile walk with jessie and gus

i thought the entire episode was going to be about them walking trying to find there way back lol

but they went to commercial then they was in the hospital with hector

so let me get this right, skylar who fucked her boss in the past while married to walt. ended up giving him 600k to save his ass directly from the irs, and keep irs eyes off her. INSTEAD SHE COULD HAVE just had him Off'd for probably 100k. And the 600k she gave up to keep him in order ended up being 600k that could save walt's life, and the family AKA skylar old boss GETS HIM IN THE ASS again.

she aint no killer

:lol::yes:

why everbody saying hank is going to go i think his wife is going to die. and walt coughing i think his cancer is back full force

hank is getting too close, and if his wife gets killed it would just make hank really go after Gus

which would make the show greater:yes: his wife is useless in this show. but somebody said hank has a lead in another show if that is the case then hank is going to go.

Not necessarily. Some actors do have two shows at the same time just as long as they don't film at the same time. Breaking Bad is one of those summer shows that allows for actors to do Fall shows as well.

yeah u right but the other show got like 24 eps :dunno:

true...

Yo the ending to this ep was amazing...the death of that dude Skyler was w/ was predictable...once that nigga said he sending his "A-Team" I'm like watch they gonna fuck up and kill that nigga...crazy shit is it won't they fault...well maybe...black dude shoulda grabbed him @ least...shit was comical tho  yo the black dude that work for Gus said but 1 word "nope" but had me dying...this is the trials and tribulations Walt shoulda gone thru in season 3...this season is much more realistic imo and it makes for a much greater show...dude is way too arrogant and truly in over his head tryna outmaneuver Gus and Hank...can't wait for the next ep

Truth... if she had kept Walt in the loop though, dude might have done it, himself, as wild as he has been acting this season.

This season? Walt been tame as a fuckin baby kitten this season which is good...makes perfect sense...it was last season when that nigga was wildin out which made for good action but was just completely implausible to me...but that nigga been having his ass handed to him this season...part of me was hoping he caught a bullet to the head out in that desert...kudos to the writers for spinning this shit in the right direction

@ Outlaw ya the last 10 minutes was grippin about to rewatch just that part alone

 @ old ass Hector...fuck kinda nursing home is that where Gus can just come in and fuck w/ him every week

Bryan Cranston won the emmy for next year last 10 mins gottdamn

The irony is I used to fuckin HATE his character on Malcolm in the Middle to the point where I wouldn't watch the show cuz of him...cuz his character was just so emasculated...it's like this show redeemed that notion of him

and walt coughing i think his cancer is back full force

I was thinking that too

I think Jessie knows he would have been happier being small time. Walt's the one who wanted more money.

So all the major problems have been because of Walt's ideas, from Tuco to Gus.

Skylar's goofy ass has been out of the loop while Walt has made himself a millionaire and solved so many of their problems without her... yet she feels the need to 'set his business straight' and even try to get gangster to fix Walt's situation. When Walt, for all she knows, has been running shit smoothly without her... she gets the bright idea to not even tell him about the problems that all of her 'fixing' has created.

Neither of these motherfuckers would have handled that shit correctly and I'm of the opinion that they will survive Gus and Uncle Sam will be the cause of their downfall.

Skyler is just like Walt, they equate book smarts to street smarts.

Jesse is a turncoat motherfucker and I hope he gets taken out real soon! Didn't he see how they damn near left Mike to die!!

Naw, Jessie is the reason he's alive. He knows what Gus is up to.

so let me get this right, skylar who fucked her boss in the past while married to walt. ended up giving him 600k to save his ass directly from the irs, and keep irs eyes off her. She thought she could handle it. :dunno:

She thought he knew him :smh:

I didn't like it how she condemned Walter for cooking meth, but some sort of way rationalized what dude was doing as if it was ok.

Oh and Skylar running around thinking she is a boss burnt Walt's last chess move. I know dude will survive for one more season, but how the fuck they are going to pull this off after slipping by last season....:dunno: These motherfucking writers will be the best in the history of television if they come up with a logical/believable solution to this... not to mention, more story to even tell in season 5.

Yeah, the past two episodes have been like season finales, can't imagine the last two episodes

Anything he came up with would have been better than what she came up with:smh:

Her intentions were right, but I knew once she said the money came from her, she fucked up.

I don't think dude was even trying to black mail her, she just overreacted.

He was right, I might not go to jail, but I'm going to lose everything. He had every reason to talk to a lawyer. Maybe they could have knocked it down to $300 or $400.

 @ old ass Hector...fuck kinda nursing home is that where Gus can just come in and fuck w/ him every week

That's some revenge for your ass

I'm not going to kill everyone you love and care about, and you can't do a damn thing about it, but sit and wait to die. Every remaining day of his life is torture.

Oh no...I def understand Gus motivation...just wondering wtf going on in that nursing home...I know he be heated as hell when the nurses roll his ass to bed...you gone tell me they don't notice that nigga on the verge of a heart attack each and every time after he get the same visitor  nigga lip be trembling like he tryna kiss his forehead and shit...nigga whole left eye shut down when he be doing that shit

Naw, you must be forgetting he spent the first half of the season trying to kill the boss... there is nothing tame about that. He had to be beaten into submission physically and mentally to get to this point and I could see dude getting glee in heart at the possibility to show a motherfucker who's "boss" especially some lame who couldn't fight back like Mike or Gus.

Naw, you must be forgetting he spent the first half of the season trying to kill the boss...

Waiting for Jesse to give him that laced cigarette or sprinkle that shit in his food or w/e ain't fuckin trying...what happened to gangster ass Walt watching bitches choke or running niggas down and buckin them in the head...or blowing up niggas in they own office and shit...fuck outta here...season 3 had niggas gassed behind Walt and the shit he was doing just didn't make sense...the way it is now makes sense...nigga ain't trying shit but to keep his ass alive and in the loop...the way the brother played him was priceless...treated him just like a worker...let's see how gangster he is now...Gus threatened to kill his fuckin infant babygirl...where gangster Walt now?

That's simple. All Gus has to do is slip them a few bills if anyone became concerned.

Dude did get big headed

Dude thought he had shit on lock. Was getting 7 mil a year, was getting his family back, beat cancer

Funny how Gus went from wanting to kill Jessie to Walt.

Funny how Gus went from wanting to kill Jessie to Walt.

The way the writers flipped it is impressive...Jesse always had more street smarts...ya he was a slacker but they had him fuckin up too much and Walt being to much of a "cleaner" and that just wasn't plausible to me...Walt being in the dark and scared for his life makes way more sense...NOW is the time for his character to elevate and get gangster w/ his family being in danger...but in season 3 that shit just didn't make sense...was just too much of a stretch for me imo...I have a hunch tho Mike + Jesse gonna off Gus tho...it's got too personal even tho it's over now...and he's just too reckless...and I know Hank is not that slow...he GOTTA be suspecting Walt...cuz Walt is just too curious w/ the questions and shit...and I still not forgetting how he just upped and said W.W. then Walter White...not even as a joke...nigga said that shit straight as shit...show is on must-see status tho

The gangster Walt got chased off from Gus' home when thought he was slick. Then got the shit beat out of him by Mike when he tried to get face time to kill Gus. He also watched his right hand man get turned and caught another ass beating... Yet, he still has the nerve to talk shit to Gus in the desert until Gus made it clear how real shit is.

Basically, he would have killed Ted if he knew what was going on... just for the sake of his ego.

Yet, he still has the nerve to talk shit to Gus in the desert until Gus made it clear how real shit is.

 That shit had me dying...I think Gus said "what did you say":lol::lol: dude said I will kill your infant daughter and walked off on that note...

Walt started fucking up when his whole goal was to try to kill Gus. He was paranoid as shit. Meanwhile, we the audience and Jesse saw how raw Gus can be... Walt tried to get bold not knowing what this man is capable of.

What I'm pissed at right now is this dumb bitch Skyler... this stupid bitch going to give money to a dude that end up dieing or is in serious trouble. The problem was that she was looking out for herself not realizing what kind of business Walt is in and what situations he can get into.

 That shit had me dying...I think Gus said "what did you say":lol::lol: dude said I will kill your infant daughter and walked off on that note...

Yeah... I think Walt started believing his own hype about being a tough guy until Gus killed that Mexican dude in front of him. Then he thought well fuck it I can still be the smarter guy and use Jesse as my killer, but that desert scene was the checking that Walt needed. He isn't needed to cook... Plus, if I can't kill you and keep your replacement then I'll get to you through your family. Funny part of it all is Walt's ego gave him this move. Jesse reached out to Walt for help cause Jesse didn't have faith in himself as a cook. If Walt had coached him... Jesse would have to tell Gus that they still need Walt, but Walt was too focused on losing control over Jesse to see the big picture. This was the ultimate test for Jesse as head cook and Walt's ego pushed Jesse torwards proving himself.
