I would rather see Evans fight Phil Davis or Shogun. Jones will beat the cockiness out of Rashad. I would really like to see Jones fight Machida or see Jones fight Silva. Those are some explosive fights.

Fitch knows damn well why he doesn't get much shine. No one wants to see his lay n' pray, dry humping ass fight. He got his shot against GSP and got handled. Dana knows that PPV buys will fall through the floor with Fitch in a main event.

Phil Davis is the Light HW equivalent of Jon Fitch. I have no interest in seeing him fight.

But I agree that it's about time for Dana to make that super fight between Jones and Silva.

There was a sports science piece on espn.com detailing Rashads takedowns. If he can't get in there nobody will. Rashad has trained with him, so he knows if he will be able to mount any type of offense to offset that reach..if he knows better he will fake an injury.

thats not the point he wins his fights in his style...boring yes....the fact that they are thirsty for him to lose or won't give him any shots at the belt is bullshit...

we give you another shot when you fight the style we want you to fight?

Fitch is the only fighter that makes fights more boring than GSP and GSP puts a clinic on him so no way in hell he is getting another shot. I hope they force GSP to go get a monumental ass whipping from Silva.

Rashad's chin won't mean anything..anybody with fight knowledge can clearly see that Jones is not a knockout artist, but a TKO type dude..he doesn't have the power especially throwing from that far away to stay out of trouble himself. His elbows fuck people up but even those are not napping muthafuckas. Rashad or Phil Davis will get inside on him and he will move to HW where he will be in trouble.

the problem is the president is dictating how you should fight thats a problem...be exciting! be exciting! its a sport....there is strategy to the fight its not only about be exciting....

Fitch is boring....I always said that...but the way they treating him is a bit unsettling with me...& the rest of those fighters better start a union or pay attention...because once you don't do as your told :itsawrap:

Now I think its proven, no one at 205 will be Jones for a while. The only person that might have a chance would be Rashad (If he could borrow Rampage's chin and mentality) but , I think he is one of those scary dudes who worrys about getting hit to much. So he will most likley fail to go a full 5 rounds.

I totally fucked up too with Warren / Vila. I gave Warren too much praise because of his confidence and variety of wins in recent memory. I totally forgot about Vila's skills and POWER (even at age 40 / 41 and having first started MMA at age 36). He blasted dude in 64 seconds :eek::lol:

6 REASONS FITCH HAS NOT HAD ANOTHER TITLE SHOT
1. Was badly beaten in a lop-sided title shot!!

2. UFC is looking for newcomers at 170(Guys who have not fought GSP yet)
They took 2 Champs from Strikeforce into UFC just to face GSP

3.GSP has destroyed every fighter in their second fight with him.
Koshcheck,Serra,Hughes,Penn

4. Fitch's unwillingness to fight other AKA fighters (koshceck)

5. Fitch's unwillingness to sign off his image for the UFC video game.
Dana White briefly cut him from the organization.

6. Does not put on an exciting show. PPV sales are where the money is.
UFC gives money bonuses for submission and knockout of the night for those reasons.

some politics and obvious reasons Fitch wont get another shot for a while maybe..

I know Im late but I cant see Jones losing at 205 anytime soon. What cats dont understand when they compare his hype to Machida, is Machida had a tough style that folks had a tough time figuring out. Jones is just a world class athlete. If you cant match with him physically you cant win.
I would love to see Daniel Cormier drop to 205 and see what he can do against bones. Although he is giving up alot of height and reach. He is a athlete of Jones caliber and a better wrestler, in fact the best wrestler in MMA.

It'll be interesting to see where Cormier stacks up in the coming years when he moves over from Strikeforce. He weighs in up in the 240s, and has noted he isn't ready just yet to drop down to 240, although many note they'd like to see him at that weight in that he isn't the tallest guy around (and already holds his own with the taller, heavier fighters at present).

Should be interesting to see if & when MACHIDA / RUA (PT. II) / HENDERSON and a few others get their shots at Jones in the coming 2 years.
