I was watching A Haunting, the series that used to air on other channels and now airs on Planet Green, and I wondered why none of the stories contain any Black families, couples, etc. I did see one where the father was Black and the mother was White, but that's it. I know, from growing up and hearing stories on things different people in my family experienced, that we have just as many encounters with spirits/ghosts/entities as any other race or culture, not to mention stories that have been shared by fellow BGOL members on a similar topic. Just wanted to hear any thoughts on this. My only theory is that we may be more reluctant, out of embarrassment, to share stories like these for fear of ridicule or maybe being shunned by the church community who would most likely suggest prayer and dimiss it as guilt for some sin, or go the other end and call them demons from some bad deed, or negative energy. Your take?

Well as a kid we moved in to a two flat. We stayed on the first floor. But people stayed upstairs as well. But they did mention that someone had died upstairs on the toliet. Bout a year later they moved out. I never knew y until after the fact. while no one was living there u could hear people walking back and forth through house. Im like who the hell is that.. me n my brother took the keys n went up there. Nothing n no one.. but it kept happening all the time. Then someone moved up there and they moved out in about six months. They said they would hear things and papers would b threw around the house as if someone was angry! But we split soon after, but not for those reason though..i would pass by every no n again to see if someone was living there and they was, but they never stayed long!!

most of the audience is white, the producers of this show know that white people dont want to watch our stories on tv.

the spiritual disconnection...... most people of color clean their homes b4 they move in... bless it w/ holy water, clean with clear amonia, burn incents ect ect..... & do a bit of research b4 they move in..... the things that happen b4 you lived there can sometimes effect what goes on while you live there.... energy live on....

It's because the episodes would be real short.

Like Richard Pryor said about Black people and haunted houses:

Ghost: Helloooooooooo

Black person: Good byeeeeeeee

Episode over in a minute....CAC's will stretch that shit out into 3 hours.

Right, and then they go on Maury, Jerry Springer, and Jenny Jones to talk about stupid shit.

lol, i think black people can be more superstitious, i dont see them copping that 1850's virginian mansion on several acres of old plantation land and expecting shit to be kosher when they move in.

Good responses. I agree about us having other forms of stress, but a lot of times when you see these stories there is also a stressful situation present, ie divorce, sick child, etc. I would just once like to see a movie like Poltergeist, with us in it. Maybe they couldn't move for several reasons and that would make it more plausible. I know in this current economy it would be tough getting another house right now. Personally, I probably would be out and take my family to a hotel until that shit got straightened out. As far as moving that is. But yeah, I have to agree about buying old homes. We don't do that.
