Generally poor people work more physically demanding jobs. No one is coming home after working 12 hours in a warehouse, or some hard manual labor like lifting boxes or sweating in a field just to eat a bag of carrots
that is the shittiest answer one can give.
i work hard, then go to the gym and get home tired. if its too late to eat dinner i'll have a small bowl of cereal, or a protein bar and water/shake, a bowl of vegetables and maybe some tuna or grilled chicken.
I am right now staring at an apple that i will save for later cause i brought my own lunch into work and don't want to ruin my lunch appetite.
drinking more water can also cut back on hunger, which means eating less which is healthier and cheaper than putting a full plate of food down cause your hungrier than you think.
when your hungry your blood sugar goes up so you get hungry and binge, problem is it takes a while for your body to digest and recognize that it has received nutrition so people keep eating even though they've had their fill, causing obesity and expanding the stomach and getting into habits of large meals.
dont give your kid chocolate as a treat, cut up an orange, pineapple, an apple, buy some beef jerky etc.. so many options..
people don't eat healthy and don't want to, mind you i get it, i have gone back and forth with my eating habits and my weight but i do recognize that what has held me back is not prices it's what people think is "Cool" to eat..
for almost all situations, find the problem in the room, if you can't find it its you.
why would eating carrots and such after a hard days work be a bad thing? what kind of thinking is that? its just a fucking carrot, don't like carrots? eat an apple, a bowl of lettuce and cucumbers, add some tuna or chicken. steam the carrots, get a good dipping sauce...
skip the chicken parm and make a grilled chicken wrap..
I've seen people live off of chinese food and mcdonalds and don't know what a good home cooked meal is like.

sad shit when you see how big those families are getting from bad eating habits.
