It's almost like all the most talented people on Earth are all on drugs.:smh:

If you look back throughout history you'll see that a lot of the truly talented artists or creative people had underlying psychological issues. A large number of them turn to recreational drug use in order to self medicate.

Great deal of talented artist indulge. Art is fed by your own insecurity to be seen as something relevant. Most people dont live in a space to freely experiment with life & make a living doing it. Shackled by circumstance. Thats why most admire a great artist. True freedom.

Watching someone overdose in front of you, and watch them die, unable to help or call for help because you yourself have been injecting. That is the definition of hell. Recovering from heroin addiction is the hardest thing, not just physically but mentally. You will lose your family and friends, you will be destroying your life. You can't get a job, you'll have a criminal record, you'll be classed as scum of the earth. Life for heroin addicts is being labelled with the stigma of being the faliure, don't do it. Peer pressure is not worth risking your life.

Speedballing is when heroin and cocaine are injected into the body together. This is a deadly combination as it enters the body very quickly when injected into a vein. Speedballing will kill you.

He was an amazing actor, and will definitely be remembered for his work, but I have an issue:

I hate the way the media portrays a white celebrity who dies from drugs, etc., as a tragic victim, hardly skirting the surface of their issue, but when a black celebrity dies from similar circumstances, they drag EVERY situation they've experienced in life up, and spend more time talking about their downfall than their achievements.

Compare the media coverage and it's 'theme' when detailing Hoffman's situation, to when Whitney died... It's actually already started. One article spends One 2 sentence paragraph on his being found dead due to drugs, and then the remaining 10 are a positive retelling of his life. For Whitney, they didn't even get to her career until maybe 6-7 paragraphs in to the article...

RIP Dude, not to shit on his 'moment', but the follow-up is really fucked up...

So another druggie CAC bites the dust. Good riddance.

I hope he gets replaced by brilliant black actor who couldnt ge a job because of white privilege

If I'm not mistaken, Mr Hoffman bought the "rights" to make the movie Capote with his own money...Just like Will Smith bought the rights to make Charles Gardner movie with his own money..

so the conclusion is, if you got the money, then you can make your "own" damned movie and star in it yourself....

but keep one thing in mind, no amount of money in the world, can make you happy... if you don't wanna be happy....

First thing that came to my mind. Powerful scene from a powerful actor depicting a heroin overdose. They nod off from that initial rush and if it's too pure with not enough cut on it or something else goes wrong you can easily check right on out.

Sugar Hill is one of my favorite hood movies if not my top choice. Sad film depicting the tragedies of the drug world. Heroin is that brown dope that ain't no joke. Powerful opiate replaced today largely by narcotic painkillers. Heroin used to be a legal painkiller back in the day like morphine is now and morphine is just as addictive an opiate as heroin.

yeah, I just saw this on Sanaa Lathan's Facebook page. I am so glad I stopped with weed. Famous line from the movie Ray:

"this ain't no weed, Ray. and we ain't snorting no bitch this is boy. And boy'll make your ass null and void."

heroin ain't no joke, & I feel for anybody who has ever tried that drug because it is a demon that is near impossible to kick

Miles Davis supposedly kicked it cold turkey with stomach cramps and all. If he did and was able to stay clean afterwards that is indeed a rare feat.

HE was a damn good actor. Every movie I ever seen him in he killed that shit. I never saw Capote though which he got the Oscar for. Even if it was a shitty film you can guarantee he was gonna hole his weight. He was eating good and was still relevant. Crazy....

he's very talented great actor.
the circumstances of his death will be swept under the rug

They are already coming out, found with a needle in his arm, history of addiction, etc.

You'll hear every detail of this shit.

This is the mourning/shock period. The media/tabloids are on this and in the next few days and weeks you'll hear every dirty detail about this mans life and death in addition to all the dirt on his addiction and use.

Yea I was about to say what else can you say about the shit? Everything is already coming out and his body ain't even cold yet. They don't sweep nothing like this under the rug. This is gonna be on TMZ and tabloid shows all week if not longer. They had Anna Nicole Smith death on that shit for a good 3 or 4 months straight.

When a actor or actress OD's like this? They gonna get to the bottom of it. That Paul Walker shit lasted a few days because of how he died.

You gonna hear about the dude who got him the drugs, the supplier, where the shit came from.....this story ain't gonna die no time soon.

I don't think it'll be all of that.
Swept under the rug wasn't the right phrase to describe what I was saying for that, that's my bad.
