I said stats among others things.Learn to read and understand.
So you are insinuating that stats, records, accolades has
absolutely NOTHING to do with a player's performance.OK more ignorance displaying. As a person who understand the game I'm using history as my reference.Unless everything that I saw was doctored because I can't see how different it is if I watched it live in the 70's or watched a recorded version in the 80's.
I guess we should erase history then because obviously it will only serve as opinions and not FACTS according to you.
Imagine this kid just start watch football and running off his mouth.
Typing a lot but you still have not answered the questions.
And where exactly did I say stats have ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with a players performance. Your clutching at straws. We're discussing the best player of all time, and yes stats have no place in this discussion. What can stats tell you. Goals scored, assists. Does that judge how good a players technique was? How good his passing was? How quick he was? How good his goals were? How strong he was? How hard he worked for the team?
Stats are ridiculously misleading. Even assissts!
I Read exactly what you wrote, and if YOU had learnt to read and understand you would see how I broke down your weak methods of observation. Maybe you should practice what you preach. Sorry if your eyesights deteriorating in your old age. Quoting my whole post would go a long way in helping that issue.
Imagine a Yank trying to school me about a culture he doesn't even understand.
Jeez can people be this slow.It is not just someone else's opinion it is a FACT.
Do you know the history of football?
Look at the history of the game Pele's impact on football, Zidane can't even match up to half of that.Hence Beckham's comment hold little or no validity.
Let me make ask YOU,what make Zidane the greatest of all-time?
What does greatest of all-time means?
Let's see how knowledgeable you are about the game.

killed yourself again. Did I ever say I knew who the greatest player of all time was? Did I even claim Zidane was? I said Becks opionion was fair. I only fully understand this generation as I have the opportunity to watch games on a weekly basis. So let me tell you why Zidane along with R9 are top 3 selected (I actually understand the concept of Question and Answers)
-
Passing - He has an immense range of passing. Both long and short balls. Name me a player with better ball retention? The guy rarely loses the ball and creates goals out of nothing.
-
Shooting - His shooting technique was immense. He scored many sick volleys. He could scored from some very tight angles. He was also amazing at shooting from distance.
-
Dead Balls- Someone like you probably doesn't understand the art of corner taking, but if you did you would know his we're bloody good. His free kicks were also immense.
-
Dominance - The guy dictated
BOTH international and domestic games at his own pace. If you play football you'll understand how hard that is. If you check France at the last World Cup and the last Euros you'll understand that he made a team that wothy of only a point at a European Championship, into a team that could have won the world cup. Its no coincedence that he's won every major honour ie World Cup, Euros, Champions League, La Liga, Serie A etc/
-
Dribbling - was bang on point. Dude created his own tricks and used them in games. People overlook this because he wasn't fast. But guy skinned countless people.
-
He was a big game player- World Cup 98, Champions League 02 ETC.
-
Intelligence- He knows when to pass, when to shoot and when to hold on to the ball.
-
Ariel Presence- Brilliant in the air. Very rare for a good dribbler to be soo good in the air.
-
Versatility - Could transform a game from any position on the field.
Why the hell are you asking me if I know the history of the game? When did I claim I was a football historian. Like I've maintained throughout this thread, I only fully understand this generation. And you've got the nerve to call someone else slow. You mad?
Your also making statements without backing your facts. How exactly can you prove that Pele had more of an impact on the game?

@
In the short time I've been watching, thread should close here. This explain your reasoning.
Come on kid at age 4 you hardly knew anything about football to even comment and the 80's era.Your opinion on 80's era about football is someone's else opinion, the same logic you trying to dispel you are using. You are how old 24?

.You are basically watching clips, analyzing stats of the 80's era to even comment on the progress of football.
Wrong again. This is why you dont know shit. Football is a culture over here. 4 year olds take interest in football. Just because you failed at basketball, american football, baseball etc and then tried to jump on the 'Soccer' bandwagon doesn't mean everyone else did. Like I said I watched live games ie:
- Rob Lee skinning players down the wing
- Mark Aizlewood's dominance in the air
Do you realize that Pele was not just a STRIKER?
lol @the irony, you pigeonholed Pele to one position when you never witness him play.
OK, I got you kid.
Well since you've brought it up, answer the bloodclart question. Who was the better attacking midfielder?
And did I ever claim to know Pele? But still are you denying that his most favoured position was as a frontman? Most players mentioned in this thread play in a wide range of positions?
According to your logics if I ask you to name the top 20 football players of all-time,your list would only consist of players that you witness playing, basically players that you see played in the late 80's,through out the 90's and present.
You probably was still wearing pampers when Maradona won his first World Cup.
Wow we are finally making progress. I more or less said this in the first post.
And Maradonna only won 1 world cup
Schooling a "historian" now
