Your shit and your health+ The lifesaving food 90% aren’t eating enough of

BGOL health update excellent post. You guys turned me on to all this type stuff years ago when y'all posted that eat green vegetables thread and I have been slipping badly lately.

I stayed on that green diet for quite a while though maybe six months or more. Never gave up meat entirely. Still had chicken and fish a few times a week or so.

We have lost a few members to The Big C here. We gotta stay healthy fellas including myself. Takes discipline, education and habit change.

Great drop man. Pun intended.

Best to eat your veggies and fruits and let the nature takes it's course. There lots of tasty and cheap vegetables to choose from and enjoy a good meal. You will love them even more.

Eddoes

Contains enzymes that is very good for your digestive tract.
Eddoes can also be used to prevent lung and oral cavity cancer. ... It's commonly known that eddoes contain carbohydrate and fiber which are excellent for people with digestive problems. Eddoe flour is used in infant formula and canned baby foods. Other benefits of eddoes may include lowering cholesterol levels, slowing absorption of glucose, reducing insulin requirements.

Now that you shitting all over the damn place, you need to Try Probiotic Foods to keep your gut health.
Probiotics are live bacteria or yeasts found in fermented foods that, when consumed, take up residence in the gut and improve health. Healthy sources include sauerkraut, miso, tempeh, kimchi, and water kefir.

You mentioned that you dont eat as many fruits and vegetables as you should.
Why not?
What are your expectations that the green supplement is going to do for you?
If not vegetables, then what are you eating?
What level of health are you trying to achieve?

Not giving medical advice, but as an honest opinion, I feel like green supplements are wrongfully marketed by money hungry villians of the health food world as a very expensive bandaid for people who dont like vegetables. I guess it depends on what youre trying to use it for but for most people it leads to abuse. People consume green supplements without having any knowledge of how the body will use what it takes in. Some people fork over cash for green supplements but continue to abuse the foods that will lead to health problems thinking that they can balance themselves out by simply drinking a glass a day.

If youre trying to use it as a direct replacement for vegetable then its not really doing any good because the consumption of vegetables is more than just the nutrients.

Its the benefits of the minerals for your teeth from chewing it,
its the benefits of your stomach breaking it down,
its the benefits of the fiber that makes you use the bathroom,
its the water in the food that aides in the digestion and absorbtion of the nutrients.

You can easily take more than is beneficial to you. Your digestion breaking down actual food slows the process. Satisfying your hunger prevents you from ingesting more nutrients than you need but you still will. The green powder gives way more nutrients that can be absorbed so after a few uses, the $40 is going unused into the toilet. Feces still contain nutrients.

One of the biggest staples of good health is that the food you consume, whether it be meat or fruit/vegetables at the freshest point possible.. Meat starts to deteriorate after death. Fruits/veggies start to deteriorate after harvest. It is then put on refrigerated trucks to slow the process, but in the end you have no clue how old the food is that you are eating. Supplements arent regulated and also heavily processed. Im sure the package has a "use by" date and a packaging date, but there are no standards for the ingredients used. Were the vegetables on the verge of being spoiled when they were dried and grinded up into powered? Were they cold pressed or were they heated up to be dried, are the nutrients even there anymore considering companies have to pump these bottles out quickly? The cleanliness of the facility? Seems like $40 worth of real vegetable will go a lot further for health.

Im not saying that using green supplements cant benefit your health. Im saying that you have to understand exactly how using them would benefit you. An example of how you would use it more effectively would be if you live in an environment where you dont have access to a lot of different type of locally grown fruits/veggies and you might have a deficiency as a result. Green supplements "might" be beneficial to help simulate the rotation of vegetables needed to get all the nutrients needed by the body. So use it to enhance what you cant get, but dont try to use it as a replacement for the real thing.

Resistant Starch

Most of the carbohydrates in your diet are starches.

Starches are long chains of glucose that are found in grains, potatoes and various foods.

But not all of the starch you eat gets digested.

Sometimes a small part of it passes through your digestive tract unchanged.

In other words, it is resistant to digestion.

This type of starch is called resistant starch, which functions kind of like soluble fiber.
