Mine had a difficult pregnancy and collected Cal works for a month or two while recovering. All of a sudden I get a flood of letters from the county demanding I pay child support.

Called a lawyer and she told me these letters don't mean anything unless she agrees to do it. They could cut her call works off, but by that point she was back to work anyway.

We worked out our own agreement for visitation and child support. It saved us a lot on lawyers, missed wages from court appearance and all the bitterness these kinds of matters tend to stir up.

So yeah, if she were to ask with help for the car I would gladly give it to her.
