I think that's what Nelly is alluding to, commercially successful artist. First week numbers and going platinum was everything in that era.Maybe for pop hop
Yes, that’s what I think he was alluding too. My favorite era of hip-hop is from the 80s till the early 2000s. Nelly has a point though before social media fully took off, you had to compete to hit that platinum stage you had to put out good songs. It’s mighty strange that no one mentioned OutKast around that time period.I think that's what Nelly is alluding to, commercially successful artist. First week numbers and going platinum was everything in that era.
Yep then he is rightI think that's what Nelly is alluding to, commercially successful artist. First week numbers and going platinum was everything in that era.
I think those years should be included as well.I disagree, I would say mid 90s.
I could never call platinum record selling rapper wack.and he was the whackist of them all
I used to hate that nigga…but he was talented. I think he gets flack because he made music for the women. Just like Ja Ruleand he was the whackist of them all
I remember listening to Power 99 FM in Philly when UTFO and Roxanne drop dis tracks.
UTFO dissed Roxanne
Roxanne came back and dissed all three of these brothers.
Streets and radio stations were on FIRE!!
Just playing DA, but he's got a Diamond and multiple Platinum plaques....and he was the whackist of them all
I don’t have a huge issue with Nelly, but he did make hip-hop more comfortable to suburban white teens.I always blamed Nelly for the start of that bubble gum singy song rap Era. That style has evolved to the garbage we have today. I hated country Grammer. He wasn't even like the rappers he mentioned.
I disagree with you because the late 90s and early 2000s was a very hot period for hip-hop as well.No he doesn’t.
The 90s will always be the toughest era.
Awwwww 95 tracks like this were being played like this during the summerI agree with Nelly, I also believe the era between 88 and 1995 was just as dope.
All those legendary battle raps. Not just between artist but battles between neighborhoods.
What a fool.I could never call platinum record selling rapper wack.
