YEEZUS just LEAKED!

up to New slaves now and loving this shit so far..."Black skinhead" is my shit at the moment, had it stuck in my head since yesterday..

shit's got a gritty, kind of distorted sound, I've been bumping the Jai Paul CD nonstop for the past couple weeks so maybe that's why its such an easy transition..

No way!? I thought he was a genius and this was "piss white people off" music!???:confused::eek:

That's hysterical that two weeks ago, this shit was "revolutionary", piss white people off music, but then when the shit drops, it's mostly white people that love it

and their word counts for more than "older hiphop heads" aka THE TRUE HIPHOP fans who have been around and liked all the innovations that have occured in hiphop, sonically and lyrically.... and YOU side with the writers in newspapers, saying THEY know more about the art form, and they're the tastemakers-" fuck yall people in the streets, it's too ahead for y'all":lol::lol:

I think you may have "accidentally" hit on the crux of the matter, is this really a "hip hop" album? Yeezy don't fit in a box. You can't tie a nice little ribbon around his shit. There is no doubt in my mind whether or not he could have come with the "current" sounding bullspit. He pushes the envelope and some people aren't willing to take the ride with him.

Their loss.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

This Kanye West must be STOPPED!! I mean, do you hear what he's rapping about? HE's got a MAYBACH!!! And the windows are tinted!! He's getting PUSSY from a white woman for christ's sake! This YEEZUS is gonna start a revolution!!

From a production standpoint this album is cool and I don't mind the experimental aspect of it but he isn't saying shit.

I listened to this a few times yesterday and nothing he was saying was memorable. It's like his rapping was an afterthought. You can slide me the instrumental version of this album and I'd be cool with that.

Kanye just doesn't have the emcee'ing capabilities to really create something that's totally next level.

Just imagine if he fully produced an album for somebody like jay electronica though.

J elect could drop a quick 16 over the bound 2 beat tomorrow and people would be looking at him like he was the messiah of hip hop again.

Interesting post! While I'd be the first to admit that Kanye ain't the greatest WORDSMITH to ever touch a mic, he is easily top 5 best ARTIST of his generation. The combination of his creativity, honesty, willingness to show vulnerability, is virtually unmatched. Bound is a great example of Kanye at his best. Hands down one of my favorite tracks on the album, Charlie Wilson on the hook is pure genius. Ye is the definition of the sum being greater than it's parts. Triple double, no assist indeed.

of course it's a hiphop album. Being in a box is not a problem, people who limit what that box means does.

Hiphop is very broad dude. Just cuz you add some shitty electronic, ravy sounds to your shit don't mean you've innovated anything. It literally STARTED out that way.

I still can't believe some of you can't swallow the fact that peopel HAVE HEARD the shit he's attempting to do before.

THE LOVE BELOW was hiphop. It pushed envelopes, and hiphop fans still liked it.

Throughout hiphops history, all the different devices, sounds, techniques, genres, regional sounds, blended into hiphop, and if it sounded good, we accepted it.

SOunds to me you're trying to put hiphop FANS in a box, instead of one guy who's influences are so transparent all of us can see it, and don't like it.

Well, hiphop fans are varied and we don't accept your classification of us as one dimensional- the history of what we have liked and accepted has proven that. Kanye knows it cuz he's one of us- he just missed the mark on this album.

but the FBI didn't kill John Lennon- plus if they did, they would've learned then that killing him made him a martyr.

And NWA, well Eazy E wasn't the creative force - and he got himself killed.

Ice Cube who was the creative force- is chill in, making jkiddie movies, Dr Dre is hardly anybody's revolutionary- so the lesson is, and I'm sure they know this, maybe you don't:

awww, let this guy throw his temper tantrum, he aint talkin bout sheeyit.

Since the media is not co signing your opinion they should no longer be taking serious when it comes album reviews? And to keep it 100 blacks especially Kanye have been the taste makers of what's hot. Had niggas wearing kilts and ugly sneakers.

Kanye doesn't make beats anymore.. As said before earlier in this thread, Daft Punk produced the bulk of this album which explains the electric sound of it..

they shouldn't be taken any more serious than this board- you're the one listing them as if their opinion is more important, and that they (whatever individuals they are) MUST be more diverse in their music tastes than any group of indivisuals on here or any other message board.

ANd no one wore the kilt AFTER Kanye actually. I'd seen many more people wear them before he ever did, which is why I was wondering why it was a big deal even back then. Fashion and music, any kind of trend goes both ways, from media to streets and vice versa.

Homie you been on bgol way too long. Every post that quotes you ain't an attack. I posed a question to generate thoughtful debate, not as some kind of personal affront to you.

Since you took it there, I'll respond in kind...

The irony of your accusation about me trying to put hip hop fans in a box, is your LAUGHABLE MONOLITHIC presentation of "so called" hip hop fans. Hip hop fans are not the Borg. Nigga there ain't no "WE" in hip hop. No one website, reviewer, fuckboy or fuckgirl can define this shit. Put 10 hip hop fans in a room and you'll get 10 different opinions. "We" aint accept shit, a million individuals, individually decided what they liked.

Kanye ain't miss shit homie, you did.

And this is the consensus throughout the internets.. Close minded niggas on here are just scared of the electronic sound Daft brought to the album. They don't want Ye to grow. They want every song to be a soul sample, 80bpm type beat..

He's still part of the production process to some degree. I'm sure.

Looking at the credits for Yeezus, Kanye was only a Co-Producer on like 2-3 songs.. That could simply mean he added a kick here, or a snare over there.. He doesn't create the ideas anymore.

They might of worn it before him but he is the one that had people talking about it, just look at ASAP Rocky. The media reports what they think is hot in the streets, fashion designers look to the taste makers in the street for inspiration.

Oh, stop it. Rock Box, Hey Ya', and Bombs Over Baghdad dis-spells this.

Is been like that for the past couple albums. I think he just doesn't have time to sit and make a beat and he's also looking for different sounds that he might not have thought of.

Uhhhh.... No it doesn't.. All of the responses from the close minded brigade have been "I wish the entire album sounded like 'Bound'".

Maybe. I love this album sonically, but I'd also like to hear what Ye could come up with if he locked himself in a room, and jumped on the MPC again..

Okay, then why did those songs succeed? They were far departures from their norm, but yet their closed minded fans jumped on board.

This comment makes no sense. The close minded fans didn't jump on board. The eclectic ones did, and they far outnumber you close minded motherfuckers.

Bullshit. Take off your cape, and think back to those times. Their fans jumped on board. Now, if you don't remember or wasn't around, then say so, but don't act like only the "eclectic" people jumped on board. As a black guy that practically worships Steely Dan, Patsy Cline, Willie Nelson, and George Clinton, among others, as well as a member of El Pus, you can take that "closed minded" bullshit next door.

Not going anywhere with it, just giving giving credit where it's due. Daft, RZA, and Hudson Mohawke did their thing on the Production side of things..

How does this any correlate to my post though?

Is it because I said he should fully produced an album for somebody like jay electronica?

Well he can executive produce the project. Just orchestrate the whole thing and put the proper pieces in place.

Nah, they didn't... I remember my folks from around the way looking at me crazy when I was spinning that "Love Below".

So yes, I stick by my statement. "Close-mindedness". We have this idea of what we want R&B/Hip-Hop artists to be, and we criticize them when they step out... To be specific, we criticize them as trying to appeal to caucasians whenever they step out of that box.

The weird thing about the album for me was the lyrics. It's like he ran out of ideas. He needed a ghost writer or something. I like the beats whether cats believe it or not lol. I like weird, dubstep, electro type music. It's the content that was lacking.
