My subdivision is icy. Son's school cancelled today. I shoveled 3 times yesterday. Shoveled at least a foot of snow. Used 60 pounds of icy melt. Shit is not a game.
Are you in NY or NJ? What part?

Nj on a mountain.
An elderly man was struck by a snow plow and killed in East Hartford, Connecticut; a 16-year-old girl whose sedan skidded out of control died after striking a tree in Gilford, New Hampshire; and a 47-year-old man died of a heart attack while shoveling outside of his parents’ home in New York City's Staten Island.
Bullshit.we got a decent amountAh. I thought you were in NYC. Yeah we got next to nothing.
So we were supposed to get a foot of snow out on Long Island. Look how clean the parking lot of Roosevelt Field is.

This shit happens every snow storm. Sanitation department haven't picked up my garbage in about a week an a half now. Seen a racoon yesterday going in on all of this easy food out here LOL
I'm sure they lifted their overtime cap and have them working around the clock, but resources are not infinite. They usually advertise for locals to help chip ice off the sidewalks and clear the fire hydrants for like $15-17 an hour. Don't know how many ppl take advantage of that, tho.Ive seen trucks come by and move snow from sidewalks. I guess you have to complain a lot to get that done.
I think the city just don't want to pay over time money to the sanitation workers, to remove garbage and snow at the same time.
