A Way Out Dev on EA: ‘All Publishers F*** Up Sometimes’ - The Game Awards 2017

Far Cry 5, The Crew 2, And One More Ubisoft Game Delayed

Ubisoft has announced Far Cry 5's release date has been delayed. The open-world first-person shooter will now launch on March 27, 2018, instead of the previously announced February 27, 2018 date, which constitutes a delay of one month.

In addition to this, The Crew 2's release has been moved from March 16, 2018 to the first half of Ubisoft's 2018-19 fiscal year, which means it will launch between April 2018 and September 2018. One other Ubisoft franchise game, which has not yet been revealed, has been moved to its fiscal year 2019-20.

According to Ubisoft, this is because the publisher is "investing more time in the development" of these games. "This decision is in line with our strategic vision of developing even more engaging and higher quality experiences for gamers," said Christine Burgess-Quémard, Ubisoft's worldwide studios executive director. "Taking more time with Assassin's Creed Origins enabled our talented development team to fully express their creative vision. As expected, this had a very positive impact on the game’s quality and largely participated to its commercial success. Taking a similar approach, we have decided to invest additional development time in three upcoming games.”

Far Cry 5 is set in Hope County, Montana. It lets allows players to create their own characters, who is a junior deputy. The main antagonists in the game are a religious cult called Eden's Gate, which has impacted the lives of some of the characters that join the player on their mission. The cast of supporting characters include Pastor Jerome, an African-American priest who has lost his flock to the cult; Mary May, a bartender with a penchant for flammable cocktails; and Nick Rye, a pilot who wants to create a better future for his child.

One of the big new additions is the ability to use dogs to distract enemies and pick up weapons for you. Other classic open-world gameplay opportunities such as flying planes are also available to the player. Far Cry 5 is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

The Crew 2, meanwhile, features an "open-world USA" that has been "completely reshaped for motorsports." In addition to cars, players will be able to take control of boats and planes for the sequel. There are four main motorsport categories in the game: street racing, off-road, pro, and freestyle, each of which has its own set of "deep" options and "wide selection of vehicle types." A beta is coming for The Crew 2, and you can register for it on the game's website here.

CES 2018: Samsung to debut 8K TV, LG to introduce Crystal Sound OLED

At CES 2018, Samsung is planning to introduce a TV bigger than 100 inches as well as 8K TV. LG is planning to launch its first Crystal Sound OLED and unveil a rollable TV, according to a report by KoreanETNews.

CES 2018: Samsung TVs
These are rumors but Korean newspaper ETNews is usually pretty reliable when it comes to Korean brands. If we are to believe the report, lots of new TV innovations will be showcased at CES 2018 next month.

ETNews claims to know that Samsung will launch a “super-large QLED TV that is bigger than 100 inches”. The company will also re-introduce local dimming technology in its LCD TVs to better match the black levels achievable with OLED TVs. Both of these rumors have already been circulated (1,2).

In addition, Samsung will for the first time showcase micro-LED, which is a new type of self-illuminating display technology that in many ways resemble OLED as each pixel is made up of light emitting diodes. The main difference is that micro-LED is based on inorganic material. An earlier rumor said that Samsung will unveil a 150” TV based on micro-LED at CES.

Lastly, the report says that Samsung intends to introduce its first ”8K QLED TV”.

Last week, FlatpanelsHDreportedthat Sony has filed for an ‘8K HDR’ logo and trademark.

CES 2018: LG TVs
ETNews also reported on LG’s plans for 2018. The Korean company is expected to introduce its first ’Crystal Sound OLED’ TV. This is the audio / speaker technology first introduced in the Sony A1 OLED where the OLED panel is used as a speaker membrane. The report says that LG has refined the technology with the “ability to detect where viewers are located and sending sound towards corresponding direction”.

LG will reportedly expands its line-up of OLED TVs and increase its push for ‘wallpaper OLED’ by introducing a smaller form factor. Today, the smallest wallpaper OLED measures 65 inches in diagonal. At its most recent quarterly earnings call, LG Displaysaidthat it expects to sell far more wallpaper and crystal sound OLED panels next year.

Finally, ETNews claims to know that LG will exhibit a rollable TV, presumably based on OLED technology. The report stresses that LG and Samsung may decide to keep some of the prototype TVs behind closed doors to avoid exposing them to competitors.

However, despite all of these new TV innovations, the Korean brands will next year continue to focus mainly on “QLED” and OLED, respectively.

-“Next year’s premium TV markets will also be a confrontation between QLED and OLED TVs,”a representative for the industry told.“When next-generation TV technologies such as micro LED and rollable display are developed, it is expected that there will be new products in TV markets starting from 2019.”

YouTube for Xbox One updated with 4K support

newyoutubelogo.1512998647.jpg

Microsoft’s Xbox One consoles are finally getting 4K YouTube support this week. It’s been a long time coming for the Xbox One S, which launched with 4K Blu-ray support but no 4K YouTube back in August 2016. Google has been slow to add 4K support for the Xbox One, but it’s arriving with a new app update for both the Xbox One X and Xbox One S.

The new YouTube app includes support for 4K resolution videos and 60 fps, ideal for watching gaming footage or sports events. Unfortunately, there’s no support for HDR YouTube content with this particular app. The updated app is rolling out now, or if you don’t want to wait you install it early from the Windows Store.

Way harder, it’s also kinda choppy with the game play. Def a learning curve but I like it better. It will be awesome once I learn how to use the scope.
How is it compared to fortnite

Also if you wanna cop it now and not wait it’s on cdkeys already. That’s how I got mine early.
