Xbox One Console Reviews

Just sold my day one console, which had no issues whatsoever. Scooping the X with no hesitation.

Sold it to whom? Store or person and for how much? Ive been asking round gamestop, bestbuy and local stores all said they aren't taking current gen x-boxes back yet.

Cliff Bleszinski’s LawBreakers pays the price for shunning Xbox One with faltering launch

Cliff Bleszinski’s (Unreal Tournament and Gears of War) new first-person shooter LawBreakers is off to a rough start, according to video game statistics company GITHYP, who notes the game failed to launch within the top 100 games on Steam, and lost 60% of its beta players post launch, peaking at only 3000 gamers. It also does not look like it’s getting better, with daily lows of as little as 1000 players, and peak numbers dropping every day.

The game, which is surprisingly a PlayStation 4 console exclusive (also available on Windows but not the Xbox One) is doing worse than even Battleborn, the poster child of launch flops, which managed 12,000 players at this same stage. If you go by just the sheer number of people discussing LawBreakers, the hype was definitely higher than Battleborn. The fact that it has such a small player base is shocking to say the least.

The news is a bit of schadenfreude for our Xbox One-loving readers after Boss Key COO Arjan Brussee said, “We liked PlayStation best at that point in time,” when asked why they were not bringing the game to the Xbox One, widely recognised as the home of the first-person shooter. Xbox One gamers love first-person shooters due to the popularity of titles like Halo since the inception of the brand, and this is the reason games like Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Destiny sold better on the console at launch despite PlayStation 4’s larger user base. This is also the reason the first Titanfall did so at launch well despite being a console exclusive. A certain type of gamer is attracted to the Xbox brand and it’s not really a surprise that many surveys categorize shooters as the go-to genre for Xbox gamers. Boss Key should’ve gone with statistics when deciding which console to launch on. Unsurprisingly, Boss Key Productions’ lead designer Dan Nanni said that they preferred Sony’s console because “PlayStation had a larger user base.”

Boss Key did not close the door completely on an Xbox One port with Nanni saying “I would definitely not write off Xbox One for the future.” Even Bleszinski said Xbox One owners should sit tight for a possible announcement on Facebook a few days ago. It looks like that may be a very good idea if only to salvage the game at this point. If they upgrade the title for Xbox One X, that alone would result in many gamers picking up the game and continuously playing it. Here’s hoping LawBreakers finds an audience because if it doesn’t then an Xbox One port is unlikely.

Probably i see a lot of PS4's on shelves. Everyone i know is on Psn. I just don't care for it. Xbox is an all in one entertainment system.
you got it.thats what he gets for that bull he pulled on microsoft.never bite the hand that feed you.since dude left he been having problems with games and his crew.

There maybe they may have Fight Night via backwards compatibility available now or later on when the new xbox 4k drops in November.

ya that's def coming soon...I saw someone unlocked an achieve for it on my XB1 activity feed...must be part of the preview program or something

Spotify is coming to the Xbox One

Spotify is planning to release an Xbox One app soon. Pictures of Microsoft’s Larry Hryb (Major Nelson) testing a Spotify app for Xbox One were spotted on Reddit earlier this week, fuelling speculation that a real Spotify Xbox app is on the way. Sources familiar with Spotify and Microsoft’s plans tell The Verge that a Spotify app for Xbox One is coming soon, and is currently being tested internally.

Spotify arrived in the Windows Store recently as a desktop version for Windows 10 devices, and not a special Universal Windows App that works on Xbox One devices. The new Spotify app for Xbox app will mean Microsoft’s console now has access to the popular music streaming service, more than two years after Spotify first debuted on Sony’s PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 consoles. Microsoft is also planning a number of dashboard enhancements to the Xbox One in the coming months, in the lead up to the new Xbox One X console.

Got the update and downloaded Spotify. Works much like the free desktop version as far as freedom to listen to what you want and music quality. Interface is a little clunky for my liking. Otherwise it's Spotify as you know it.

Ain't gonna front.. live stepped it up from the last time. I have both systems(Xbox one S / Ps4 Pro) pro loads lol bit quicker. Graphics pretty good( but 2k18 gonna win again but it's not so far off like previous games. They added First take in the cut scenes which is a good look, soundtrack is on point. They copied 2k player/cpu settings and controls( which isn't a bad thing) and it's only $40 when it arrives sane day as 2k( we see whatcha doing EA* aka NFL2k vsMadden* as,a 2k player i was lil impressed. Competition is always good for the consumer it'll keep 2k on its toes( unlike lazy ass Madden) another note Madden devs say they can't put tattoos on the players cause they'll get sued. Well how come LIVE which is still EA had players correct tattoos like 2k? STOP WITH THE BULLSHIT MADDEN

The demo for live was bullshit.

Played it all day yesterday and came away unimpressed.

Only thing that caught my eye was 33% off the price if you preorder.

I thought i was a decent effort. Presentation was excellent. Adding First Take was a plus. Didn't not like the shooting system, player movement (felt sluggish to me) also player animations was off. Defense was lacking (AI was running around me). All those things can be improved. You need somebody to keep 2K on their toes.
