Cuphead Angry Review
Forza Motorsport 7 is a gorgeous game with appeal for casual and die-hard racers alike
This is a game for everyone who loves racing. It offers every helping hand to those who want to just thrown themselves around bends, while allowing die-hards to tinker with their rides, and really feel like they are there.
There's been a lot of talk about how Forza 7 looks lovely, and how it will look even lovelier on the Xbox One X. For sure, it's genuinely a marvel, the way the sun shines, how clouds dramatically change the sky's hue. But this is also a feat of technology, of creating a racing simulation that offers a genuine palette of very different cars and driving styles across a broad selection of tracks. Forza 7 is a very fine racing game.
The truth is that yes, Forza 7 is an evolution of Forza 6. But Forza 6 was virtually faultless. Forza 7 is bigger, the single-player mode is more engaging to play, and the dynamic weather alone adds an entirely new dimension to the gameplay. It has hundreds of more cars than two years ago. Hundreds.
Nothing that makes Forza great has been left out. This is still the most complete racing game on Xbox. It's got something for all abilities, enough content to keep you going for a long old time and it's so stunning to look at, it massages your eyeballs every time you play.
With some long-ish load times and still-underwhelming visual damage in major crashes, one day it will be bettered, though it’s unlikely we’ll see that happen in this console generation. There’s no other modern racing this good at what it does. Forza Motorsport 7 is the best serious racer on current-gen, and you need to play it.
Objectively, Forza Motorsport 7 is an excellent game. It has the looks, the sounds, and the feel of a champion. In my opinion, it does not look as good as Forza Horizon 3 in many areas, but I can overlook that due to how it is structured and how well it performs. I don’t believe it is as good a game as Forza Horizon 3, despite having much better tracks, but would not hesitate to recommend the console version to any driving game fan. Had I not experienced the aforementioned performance issues, I would be inclined to give Forza Motorsport 7 my highest recommendation for PC players. As things stand now, I cannot give it any higher than a 6/10. If a patch arrives in a timely fashion (the 8 months it took to fix Horizon 3 is unacceptable) that addresses the performance problems, I would have no issues with a 9/10.
Forza Motorsport 7 is challenging, rewarding, immersive, and utterly gorgeous. It stands as a vast improvement over the game it replaces, and it kept us enthralled in the same way as when we were racing around the Mushroom Kingdom. Whether bombing through Rio in a 700-hp Meyers Manx or navigating a soaked VIR in this year’s Lightning Lap champion Mercedes-AMG GT R, FM7 has set a new bar. Now we wait to see how Gran Turismo Sport stacks up.
Once again, Turn 10 Studios proves that they’re at the top of the heap when it comes to creating impeccable racing mechanics. “Car porn” is a term thrown around a lot by racing game fans and Forza Motorsport 7 is just that. It’s beautiful, a pleasure to the ears, mechanically sound and just incredibly fun to play. Variety is a huge component to what makes this such an appealing and sought after series and nothing was skimped this time around. With around 700 cars to collect, 32 tracks with multiple variations of each, a diverse set of tuning and customizations and dynamic weather effects, there is enough content here to last a long time. Also, playing online will always be a highly-engaging and especially entertaining activity, having seen so many crashes and overly assertive drivers. Sure, the campaign mode won’t win over any fans and the implementation of loot boxes can be a concerning trend for the future, but they are small blips on an overly comprehensive racer. For fans of racing games such as this, Forza Motorsport 7 offers more than you can possibly hope for. It’s a top-tier racing experience.
Forza Motorsport 7 is a fantastic game — as a whole, the series has managed to tweak a near-perfect racing series to provide the best sim racing experience year after year. If you are a die-hard Forza Motorsport fan, I can assure you this game is worth its purchase price. For all you novice sim racing fans or casual gamers out there who are looking to get into the Forza series, this title is one that you should definitely start out with. Or, if you are looking to invest in one of the best looking games you can play on the upcoming Xbox One X, Forza Motorsport 7 is a must-have.
I've discussed the internal changes since Forza Motorsport 6, but there are a couple of external ones worth considering, too. The first is that Gran Turismo Sport has abandoned the racing game centre ground that series invented: mass-market semi-simulators and collect-'em-ups that share an indulgent passion for cars with their players. That mantle is now inherited by the Forza Motorsport series, and 7 wears it well.
The second is that Forza Horizon 3 happened. Playground's spin-off series of open-world racers has always been superb, but 3 really struck a chord with players and Microsoft is delighted with its sales. Arguably, Horizon has now become the lead Forza series, and Forza 7 is clearly inspired by its open-hearted generosity, its accessibility, its willingness to entertain. It doesn't quite hit those heights - and it's sad that this jubilant mood is tainted with a hint of muddled avarice. But you shouldn't let that distract you from what is, regardless, the most fun Forza Motorsport yet.
Nah manFinished Cuphead yesterday. Now to try to earn the filters and all that crap. I want Forza 7 but I want to have my Xbox X and a 4K tv first lol.

Microsoft in talks to extend PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Xbox One exclusivity
![]()
Microsoft is reportedly looking to extend its PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds deal, in an attempt to stay tied to the Xbox One family.
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has been the surprise hit of 2017, racking up over 10 million sales and counting since its March debut on Steam's Early Access program. While a simple concept, the "Battle Royale" shooter has garnered a passionate following during its brief time on the market and current sits among the most played games on PC.
Back in June at E3 2017, Microsoft announced a partnership with the game's developer, Bluehole, which would see PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds hitting Xbox One ahead of other consoles. Since, Microsoft Studios has stepped onboard as the publisher on the platform, with a seemingly close relationship between the two firms in preparing a console debut. Now, according to a new report from Bloomberg, Microsoft and Bluehole are in talks to extend this exclusivity agreement, preventing expansions to further platforms over a longer period.
![]()
According to Bloomberg, Bluehole met an agreement with Microsoft to produce the game first on Xbox One in 2017, however, talks are now underway to extend this period further into next year. Although Bloomberg expanded little on the deal and how long exclusivity may last, the report stated these types of deals typically last "for about three months," prior to an extension. With Microsoft yet to clarify its agreement for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds outside of "launch exclusivity," it's still hard to gauge an idea of how long such a deal may last.
As always, take this news with a pinch of salt until we have official word, although such an extension wouldn't be surprising. Being the hottest game of the year by far, it's in the best interests of Sony and Tecent to see this deal end as soon as possible. In previous interviews, the game's creator has reportedly been in talks with Sony about a PlayStation 4 release, though official details are yet to emerge.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War prioritizes its complex systems above all else, for better and worse
If you can get past the microtransactions, Shadow Wars seems set to provide a much meatier extended playtime than Shadow of Mordor ever offered. But more than anything, that’s my biggest disappointment with Middle-earth: Shadow of War: Everything about it seems to come with a caveat, some small annoyance or two that you need to dig past to get to the still-very-fun game underneath. The Nemesis System is still a wonder that has yet to be replicated. The movement and combat are thrilling.
Shadow of War fulfills the promise of its predecessor, completing a dark and violent lost tale set within the world of The Lord of the Rings. I was initially frustrated by the liberties that Monolith takes with this beloved fiction (which are plentiful), but I eventually abandoned myself to the insanity, and fell down the rabbit hole into a superb fantasy adventure. Monolith captures the thrill of power with aplomb; the way it simultaneously speaks of its dangers and corrupting potential is the real magic.
Shadow of War finds its success in perfectly expanding upon everything that made Shadow of Mordor so great. Despite the game’s slow start, once you get into the weeds of Shadow of War’s systems, you’ll find yourself engrossed and addicted to its satisfying gameplay loop for hours on end. This increased depth along with the much larger scale of the world and battles within Shadow of War make it a far better game from top to bottom than that of its predecessor.
But it all comes back to the orcs. They’re the reason I kept playing, even when I was losing interest in everything else. A motley, gruesome, ill-mannered crew of swines that are a constant joy to fight and befriend. And the increased variety and depth of the nemesis system makes for a much richer experience overall. I just wish the game wasn’t quite so overfed. A lot of developers think sequels need to be bigger and offer more to get people interested, but I’d prefer it if they were just better. Shadow of War is a great action game that feels like it’s yearning to break free from a prison of open world busywork.
Despite all that, Shadow of War does stumble into a bit of a grind in the latter part of the game and the Chests system could be tuned much better. As it stands now, it's transparent in wanting you to open your wallet and buy a bit of Gold. Those issues are what keep Shadow of War from being an absolutely amazing game, instead of just a great one
Despite my criticisms, Shadow of War’s purgatory is seductive. Technically, it is the only game doing the nemesis system these days, and so there’s nowhere else to get this stuff, even as grimly executed as it is, anywhere else. When the game informed me that there would be no turning back after the final mission, I took stock of the nemesis board. I stopped and dominated more even more orcs. I didn’t need them. By this point, I was drowning in orcs. But like a Ring of Power whispering in my ear, I just couldn’t let go.
And so Shadow of War ends up the very epitome of the difficult second album. A lot has been added in order to scale it up for a full blown sequel and much of it has been implemented with style and aplomb. As fun as the core is, however, it is often overshadowed by an onerous and self-indulgent story. What should be the game's crowning feature is instead reduced to an undeserved supporting role, like an exquisitely carved plinth groaning under the weight of a gaudy bronze bust of an elven wraith who's looking very, very serious indeed.
Building upon the accomplishments of its predecessor and wielding the influence of The New Ring, Middle-earth: Shadow of War should be remembered as Talion's greatest adventure to date.
