Our vision at Xbox is to bring your games and entertainment together. Important to that vision is our focus on partnering with television providers and content distributors to deliver rich, differentiated TV and video experiences. Today, we’re pleased to share the news of a relationship with the newly announced Sling TV, which is backed by DISH. Sling TV is an over-the-top, television service that will deliver live sports, lifestyle, family, news and information channels, Video-On-Demand (VOD) entertainment, and the best of Internet video for $20 per month. With Sling TV, there’s no commitment, contract, credit check, hardware installation, or hidden fees. Channels will include ESPN, ESPN2, TNT, TBS, Food Network, HGTV, Cartoon Network, and Disney Channel. And Xbox One will be the exclusive gaming console when it launches in the coming weeks.

What’s more, as the first gaming console where Sling TV will be available, we’re excited to announce that all Xbox Live members will get an exclusive extended free trial for one month at launch.*

”Xbox is onboard as the first gaming console where Sling TV will be available,” said Bassil El-Khatib, vice president of Sling TV. “We created the live Internet TV service for millennial consumers underserved by the pay-TV industry. One of the keys to reaching this audience is being on the devices they use, and we know millions of consumers are turning on their Xbox every day to access content they love.”

“We’re thrilled to partner with Sling TV as they bring this exciting new service to life, and we look forward to launching the Sling TV app on Xbox One in early 2015 as the first gaming console where the service is available,” said Mike Nichols, Corporate Vice President, Marketing for Xbox. “We’re committed to bringing great entertainment options to gamers and our relationship with Sling TV is an important milestone in that journey and in offering more choices to our Xbox fans.”

*Sling TV is offered at $20 per month; Xbox Live members must sign up for extended free trial

Damn, they might fuck the cable game up with that move.

If they can get HBO Go to allow people to buy subscriptions like Netflix and Hulu, it's a wrap.

Once again this is by far one of the best threads on bgol.

I ended up getting 4 brand new games for my xb1 and the elgato capture card with about 50 bucks remaining on Walmart gift card.

Well worth my donation for this board.

is that for the old one or the new one?

i didn't get the xb1 with the kinect but my old one has been sitting in the same space for like 3 years.

Bruh...

The old kinect for the 360 will get you like $4 at GameStop..... No lie.... Nigga I was PISSED trading that shit in

that sucks.

i guess i will have 1 xbox 360 game with a kinect and two controllers sitting next to my xb1.

i love the xb1 though.

keep us posted...after your post...thinking about copping these

Can't find those kraken headsets.

But I did learn something....

Skullcandy is now in the gaming headset business. They bought out Astro, and if you know anything about astro headsets they're pretty expensive and pretty damn good. Actually they're some of the best out.

I saw these, and even tho I'm not a fan of white accessories, for the price, what they cost, and the reviews (all excellent) these might be some winners:

will likely order this weekend so I'll give my opinions if/when I get them

**edit**

And they're on sale $10 bucks off

Dead Kings, the formerly for-pay expansion to Assassin's Creed Unity, will be released for free for all ACU players on January 13, according to a new trailer from publisher Ubisoft. But... the YouTube description initially mentioned a December 16. Hmm.

rt87joq7y4cuxs3psf5r.png

Was December 16 the original release date?

Ubisoft did seem to put the brakes on promoting Dead Kings while focusing on Unity's post-release bugs. It switched to a plan to offer Dead Kings for free as an apology to gamers regarding Unity's flawed launch.

Shaky as Unity has been, Dead Kings could still be something special. As announced several months ago, it was in development at Ubisoft Montpellier, a Ubi studio responsible for such critically well-received games as Rayman Origins and ZombiU.

Promotional material for Dead Kings pegged the DLC as offering "over five hours of extra gameplay" in an adventure set in Saint-Denis in 1794, with ACU hero Arno exploring "the dark depths of this cursed town." We've been asking Ubisoft if this all adds up to Dead Kings being the work of the ZombiU team, but they haven't said so. If they update us about the DLC or about the nature of that December date, we'll let you know.

Here are this week’s games and add-on deals on the Xbox Games Store. Discounts are valid now through 12 January 2015.

went w/ the skullcandy joints...had a gift card w/ a little over $100...fuck it...spent it on this...buying astro out was a huge factor in the decision...so I'm expecting the quality to be high...worst case scenario I don't like em and I return em...never thought I'd be the guy who spends $100 on headphones tho...I used to get on ppl for "wasting money" on that shit :smh::lol:

*edit*

I cancelled the order man...my conscience couldn't let me get away w/ spending that $$$ on headphones :smh:

I didn't cancel my order. They should be here early next week.

I plan on selling my afterglow headset to one of my coworkers for $40 bucks if they're up to snuff... If not they're going back and I'll just wait on something else to come out around the same price range

Commander Shepard, the player-created hero of BioWare's Mass Effect trilogy, began life as a woman, developer Jonathan Cooper revealed on Twitter today.

Cooper is currently an animator on Uncharted 4: A Thief's End at Naughty Dog, but he previously worked at Ubisoft Montreal as the animation director for Assassin's Creed 3, and prior to that, at BioWare as the animation lead on Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2. He said today that 10 years ago this month, he did the first animation test for the character that would become the protagonist of the Mass Effect series.

The 3-second animation, which you can watch below, consists of a character model turning while jogging forward. The character is clearly a woman.

"Yup, Commander Shepard was originally a woman," said Cooper.

That settles it once and for all: FemShep is the one true Commander Shepard. This is definitely canon, right, BioWare?

Check out our coverage of BioWare's most recent N7 Day roundtable for more on the next Mass Effect game.

Update: Cooper noted in a follow-up tweet that the motion capture itself was repurposed from BioWare's previous game, Jade Empire. He added that, as we assumed, BioWare was always going to allow the player to choose the gender of their Commander Shepard in Mass Effect.

ntering the final week of the Halo 5: Guardians Arena Multiplayer Beta, developer 343 Industries has put in place new settings for Halo fans to test out.

Having tallied up the votes from last week’s poll, Pegasus is the new Forge-created map that will enter the Slayer playlist along with the return of Truth from the first week of the Beta.

Joining last week’s new mode, Breakout, is a new game type called Strongholds. In it, Spartans must capture and hold the majority of capture points to win. One point is earned per second for each base captured more than the enemy team. Breakout will be playable on Regret and Empire.

Remember to provide feedback on Halo 5: Guardian’s official forums to let developers know what you think about Halo’s new direction. Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below as well.

We leave you with a set of new images courtesy of 343 Industries.

You can buy a block, Asgardians and chars from second Thor movie and dark phoenix

damn these halo head joints are sexy as hell...can't wait to test em later on...if they sound as good as they look #keepers

*edit*

the cushion parts that folks were saying felt like memory foam...feels more "clothy"...looks like it can get frayed/dirtied very easily if you don't take good care of them...they are smaller than I expected...no way possible your ears can fit in the space...it's def on-ear...one review said your ears will fit in w/ time...I have a small head and ears...and no way will my ears ever fit in these lol...most other reviewers pointed that out tho...also the "ear cups"...idk if that's the technical term are purposely loose...idk if that's typical of gaming headphones in general...it's not a bad thing just not what I expected...just on the quality/feel of the build alone...I would've felt more "comfortable" paying $50 for these rather than $100...will do the sound/mic "test" later

I could never get into headphone game cause they hurt my ears with odd pressure after like 20 minutes on. I wish I could get that gaming experience on.

this is my 1st time fucking w/ headphones this size period...I had a bluetooth last gen that fit in my ear...and even that annoyed me...then this gen I had the XB1 shit that was like the old sony walkman headphones...felt weird tho only having one side...I'm gonna fuck w/ these tonite...I'm picky as hell when it come to spending $$$ esp. w/ electronics so trust me they will be going back if they don't feel/perform right

this is the 1st real pair of gaming headphones I've had so take my comments w/ a grain of salt...shits is BOOMING...I have a decent surround sound system but having these shits on my ears I was still able to pick up sounds I didn't hear before and on a few occasions even had my heart jump @ some explosions/gunfire during the game...music is straight too after listening to a couple of songs off youtube...

good note these shits bang...bad note I already suffer from tinnitus so no way I can fuck w/ these everyday lol...but I still plan on keeping them for when I have guests or company so as not to disturb them which has been a problem occasionally cuz when I play games/music thru the speakers the shit will rattle thru my house and the neighbors...

on another note these are not noise cancellation/isolation headphones...you will still hear shit in the background...and ppl can hear what you're playing/listening too if you have it cranked up real high...again I think these shits shoulda cost about $50 but I picked it up for free so I can't really gripe @ all...I will keep these and use them as intended occasionally but mostly just use the mic...no real complaints other than I'm old and can't have this shit banging thru my head everyday...headphones felt light but the cups did pinch my ears w/in an hour...took them off...put them back on...again ears felt pinched in under an hour...could possibly be rectified by how you place the cups on your ears

He added that, as we assumed, BioWare was always going to allow the player to choose the gender of their Commander Shepard in Mass Effect.

but will the hero(who also has been confirmed to be a N7 operative)of the new forthcoming ME game be created as a woman originally..

With the stats showing that most people prefer a male, I doubt they force a woman as the main character.

Thanks for the review! I might look into picking these up or those Kraken headsets.
