I was watching a couple of those clips yesterday and thinking to myself, "That's all relatively newer constructed houses. How did the builders not use PEX or an equivalent for the plumbing?"

It's for the same reason that the Grid wasn't winterized. They just didn't foresee the need to build with subzero temps in mind.

Watch the insurance companies try to weasel out of covering the damages, claiming it to be an "Act of God."

I read people in Austin are dumpster diving for food in restaurant parking lots. Like someone else said, the insurance companies are going to try to weasel like hell out of this.
Yep insurance companies are going to abandon ship the federal government is going to have to step in normally I wouldn’t like that because all of them crazy people in Texas but there are some good people in Houston and Dallas and Austin that needs to help so let’s do it. Again there is some good people in Texas

I co-worker of mine just moved down there 2 years ago with his 3 children :smh:
He's in San Antonio. I just hit him up on Teams and said he had intermittent internet but is good otherwise.

I hope my BGOL bros down there are doing aight.
Chasing money got me stuck in SA, the site has been in Suspended operations since Monday. The wifey and my youngest are chilling in Pearland. The oldest is on the yard chilling. Roads are too fucked up to drive back.

I’m into day 3 of no power and my internet has been down since Sunday night. At least I still have water pressure. San Antonio appears to be producing enough power for San Antonio but we gotta give it up to other parts.
The Republicans are so incompetent at running things but their voters blame the democrats who haven’t been in power for decades. You can’t tell these fools nothing. They insist things would be worse if the democrats were in charge. They also instantly bought into the green power lie.

Surely, Texas will pull themselves back up by their bootstraps and not ask for any federal aid.
I know that was a little sarcastic but hell no the insurance companies are going to run and hide...they don’t have a choice but to get money from the federal government

they go the cheaper route.
same way that Texas prefer to use these cheap ass powerlines, instead of the winterized powerlines that Alaska and other cold weather states use.
put a snowcone on the powerlines and them mufuckas will snap here.

They will say that the grid would have failed completely had they been forced to interfere with the free market and actually regulate. :smh: This is just like last summer when they were warning of the dangers of "rationed care" under a "socialist healthcare regime" when it was occurring under our current system. It always makes me think of the Cold War military budget trick they would pull out every year: we need dramatic increases in military spending despite evidence of decreased soviet military strength because that means they have switched to undetectable, stealth assets. :smh::smh::lol:
