would you rather make 250k working for someone or 49k for yourself

spin off dame dash breakfast club argument with dj envy how he told envy why not do your own radio station?

the thing is the company probably pays dj envy more money than he would see if he was working for hiself.

look at Corey Holcomb he working for hiself but has said he has had the opportunity to work for others under contracts and restrictions. but corey could probably easily be making 3 million of merchandise, shows, endorsements etc... if he signed with someone.

i'm a jew by nature... so i'll take the full control over my life and less bread any day of the week..plus i'm not dumb so i'll easily flip the 49,000 into more... by the way if ur getting paid 250,000 by a company u best to believe ur generating millions or more for them, so if u go solo there's no way ur money will decrease that low in fact ur bread will more likely increase..so ur logic of ur bread dropping 80 percent goin solo dosen't make sense

we're not gonna play the what if game..ur example was the breakfast club..the show is already established u already got the following, u already have made some money, so the question is do i keep staying with the company or breakaway and do my shit on my own terms.. i'm breaking away and doin my own thing... i have personally done this in my own life so i have experience in what i'm talking about..also my bread increased like i said it's suppose to when u run ur own operation

if u do a what if again ur fully exposing urself as entreprenegro...i kno its u but i'm gonna play along and act like it's not juss because it's a fairly decent topic

It's hard to make decisions like this in a vacuum or with perfect knowledge. One would be a bit foolish to take $50K working for themselves over $250K working for someone else because they feel their "pride" would be lessened by working for another man.

Financially, economically, fiducially you have a responsibility to yourself to make the most money possible - all else being equal.

OP.....have you reported to the verification thread with that screen name?

Might be time to do that.

No brainer. 250k is good money. The real question is if you have the discipline to live on 49k while making 250k, because if you do, you can bank 100k+ a year. Do that for 5 or 10 years and then go do your own think with capital in the bank.

In the process of that now. Working a job and building businesses at the same time. Have an economic, and career model I'm following with certain business related thresholds that once reached i will adjust and eventually leave my job and run my businesses full time. If you have the bandwidth and a proper plan you can balance both, but no, I'm not leaving 200k on the table for anything...

It all comes down to what you value more.

Your individual creativity and ownership of your content.

OR.

Making great money but still having to answer to someone.

id rather work for myself.

there is so much pride working for someone as opposed to being your own. imagine if that is how bill gates felt or fuckin flyod or steve jobs. this attitude is sickening

I'll work for someone else making 250k until I figure out how to work for myself making 250k.

There is nothing wrong in working for somebody until you figure out how to work for yourself. I made good money working for somebody for 8 years and then worked for myself where I took a serious pay cut for 2 years until I made it again. I also learned a lot working for someone else at their own expense.

Would rather make 5 x as much money working for someone else. It's interesting you would rather work all day, weekends, holidays, making 50k for yourself. 250k for two years you can buy into a franchise.

Bill Gates didn't walk away from a quarter of a million dollar salary to start his own shit though. If you are going to make a point at least make it relevant to the discussion, especially when trying to be irreverent. This post is a fail....

Find someone who walked away from that type of bread for their own shit and then we can use whatever point you are trying to make as a talking point...

this is it. but most people so anxiois to live the american dream soon as they land that job that they will never be able to work for themselves. most millionaires that are self made millionaires became millionares and stayed in the same house with same expenses. we are so conditioned to buy new house, get 3 kids send them to private school, buy a 2015 hummer paying 2000 in insurance 6 months that literally you cant afford to make less. and when you in a position you cant afford to make less you can never build your own business

Werd... I been trying like a sonofabitch to remember the last time I paid a bill with no money, just pride...... Can't seem to recall that shit ever happening....

Not sure what your point is, however some people are ok with making 250k for years, retiring with a nice nest egg and a great quality of life and have no interest in running a business....

So... What's your point again?

If someone is paying you 250k, you can make money consulting after several years whenever you want to quit.

what I find "interesting" is that you only mentio ed all cons of working for yourself. any smart man knows there are pros and cons to any decision in life. but you only named all cons. with that type of attitude it is better you call some a boss and ask them for a raise to go shopping for back to school clothes for your 6 year old.

aye if you wanna work for someone forever aye do you

I'll easily take the 250k working for someone else where I also get vacations, a heath package, a 401k, retirement plan, and a host of other shit.

Meanwhile working for yourself....no days off, long days and nights, no medical, etc.

easy fucking decision

well that is the lazy decision. when you compare the pros if one decision to the cons of another decision it is easy to choose calli g another man boss.

this seems to be a trend. the lack or in ability for people to see the pros of working for yourself. I wonder if people could see the pros of working for themselves would they be more inclined to work for themselves
