Would you pledge again?

Anyone who pledged would say no.

What is the worst feeling you had while online?

Worst thought (i.e,these bastards are trying to kill me?)

Was it over around the time you thought or you had no idea?

topic is very documented on this board............try a search.

I krossed in 92..........and no I wouldn't. These kats got pledging konfused with something else. And I wouldn't pledge anybody else either.......there is too much at risk / too much to lose.

I crossed in '87. Yeah I would do it again but not with these stupid asses nowadays. They are into this "gang" "thuglife" mentality where they are beating people down just to prove how "hard" and "real" they are. They smear the good image that fraternities try to portray.

oh hell yes. i'd do it in a minute... all over again.

why?

well, when it was time, i had a 3.2 GPA in engineering, and i thought to myself... "WTF are you doing. you're gonna fuck up your GPA, scholarships, etc."

but guess what... it was a positive experience 'cause i learned a lot about me, the frat, and how by working TOGETHER, we could get a lot accomplished. i concentrated soooooo hard on school to maintain my GPA that the tasks at hand became "subconscious" to me... forcing me to FOCUS MY ENERGY in the right direction under EXTREME pressure.

upon crossing = FINISHING the task at hand, i also finished that semester with a 4.0 GPA while taking 17 hrs in engineering college (second semester junior). you learn a LOT about yourself in a positive but pressure-filled environment.

and i remember that night... OMG, nigras hopped 'til the sun came up, partying hard hard extra hard.

I'm from NYC. Frats weren't really a big thing to us, like it was to the Southern Brothers. So when I went to college I did the RUSH thing, but after the first night with all that screaming in my face, hitting, and doing dumb shit just to get their letters, a NY negro like me was like "go fuck yourself, no way I'm allowing you to hit me or walk around campus looking like a class-A penis just to join your club."

The Southern cats looked like I had just spit in the face of Jesus. Whatever.

The NY bros on campus stuck together like their own frat, except we were into getting money, dressing well, getting all that country pussy and were hated to no end by the norms and frats.

So no, I would not and never would. I would however pledge grad where the men are mature, rationale, and are into making money.

Tell the truth, it wasn't th screaming and the hitting that got to you. It was the push ups and the stomping and the marching and carrying a bigger guy on your back that broke you down, right?

Yep I'd do it again. It was rough but it was supposed to be. You are not supposed to understand whats up on the way in and should when you finish. If you didn't blame the leadership for that.

No I didn't pledge and if I wouldn't back I wouldn't pledge. The stuff done to bruh's online just isn't right in any form or fashion. I swear all my friends who are greek haven't been hooked on any job. False promises

#1. it ain't NEVER too late.
#2. the frat is BIGGER than a semester or two in college - well, at least it was for me. it's a LIFETIME commitment IMO to follow those principles.
#3. after college, the NETWORKING, etc. is an EASY way to experience the STRENGTH of knowing and being around positive, black men that want to help you succeed in your endeavors.

not only have i continued long-lasting relationships with frats all thru the country, but i've also networked and established business relationships with brothers from other frats.

for example, i just awarded a software consulting contract gig to a sigma with his own software company. i met him in philly about 4 yrs ago... he's put me on some good business deals, and i've returned the favor.

the media and the bitch blunt do a LOT to destroy the image of black men in this country. fuck what you heard... there are LOTS of brothers out there doing their thing: establishing their own businesses, networks for helping each other, etc.

ROO!!!! I agree wholeheartledly...and yes sir, I'd do it all over again

didn't pledge, and glad i didn't. i was considering it at one time,,, until i realized that fraternities are basically some attention whore shit, that most dudes use to try tn get pussy during college,,, after college, it really serves no purpose.

as i said in other threads i dont understand why folks pledge today. theres a difference between weedin out the people who want to be there/people who think they wanna be there and taking revenge out on the new guys for what u suffered the year before. i like what frats stood for back in the day but its different today. folks are too busy trying to keep people out rather than inviting people in and helping the organization grow.

gameboy... c'mon man. :smh: pussy? i feel sorry for ANY man that does ANYTHING in an effort to get pussy-besides simply being himself. :smh:

pussy is a good thing 98% of the time, but i was getting more than my fair share BEFORE pledging. after pledging, i got the same amount, but it came from different angles... women just fucked me because of the letters on my chest, and with condoms in-hand, i was like, :dunno: yeah, why not?

i know grown men that buy $15000 rims on some attention whoring bullshit... gold and diamonds, expensive clothes, etc. on some attention whoring bullshit.
i guess those with a low pussy rate do what they have to do to fuck, but that's their business.

90% co-sign. pledging today with these idiots would be a LOT different cause honestly, we were about business back then. it was tough, but we had fun. we partied, we networked, we studied, and we partied. did i mention that we partied? :D

the whole time, the keyword was GRADUATE. period. while at was at my university, we had 2 brothers that came thru that never finished-up. ALL the other brothers, during my time on the yard, got that paper. and THAT is what is important... EDUCATION.

I doubt I'd do it again. My experience wasn't that great.
There was a lot of bullshit and politics that had nothing to do with my line, but the battle between our province, the college and the chapter itself (I pledged SP '90) the supposed last year of old skool pledging.
It left a bitter taste in my mouth and a fractured chapter.

I especially wouldn't do it again because the culture is different. Alot of the new school cats I meet seem to be on some different 15 minutes of fame shit.
I don't think they could truly, successfully "educate" pledges in the ways of the frat.

nope shit didnt finish 1st time thankfully it was on some unofficial prepledge shit lotta posers in that chapter woulda changed me for the worse...that chapter made me wonder some shit but i was young and wasnt in the right frame of mind and they were the only one around at the time....but i am gonna do an alumni don't know which fraternity tho down to two of them...
Pledging ain't that bad if its done with a purpose in mind not some dumb shit, its not for everyone a lot do it to make friends, get bitches and be college rockstars and get jobs...some do it b/c they want to better their people and help the community.
u dont need to be hit to do either of those two.
but if u gonna do it for the pussy or the fame then your a simp, a trick and hoe and u will get no respect.
peace.

Rooooooooooooooo to the gooood Ques !!!!

You get out of it what you put into it !!!!!!!!
#1....With out question....oldest burh on my line was 43..
#1a..my neo was 47..going back to what the bruh said...it is never too late
#2 The frat is vast and deep but also small and intimate...Once the process begins...it must end at some time...As a bruh told me..."Pain is weakness leaving the body"....Pain reminds you that you are not dead yet"...."Pain reminds you to finish the job you started"....Pain is temporary......OMEGA IS FOR EVER !!!!!!!
#3...There are endless opportunity to meet and furthuer your gaols..I graduated from law school andwanted to get into the sports mangement business....I got contacts out the ass from the from other greeks that are helping me further my business.

YOU GET OUT OF IT WHAT YOU PUT IN IT !!!!!!!!!!

You musta been at some off in the woods ass school

i'm almost ashamed to admit which frat i was considering pledging (kappa),,, :smh: back then, i thought those dudes had the most hoes. looking back now, those dudes seem so gay to me. not only would i not pledge, i would actually keep it a secret if i were a kappa,,,

before i pledged, i did look into various frats... to learn what they were all about.

one was focused on the pussy factor. :smh:
one was focused on getting drunk and partying hard. :smh:
one was focused on gay shit... for real. :smh:
one was focused on ME... asking ME what was important... promising ME that i'd learn more about ME thru their process... but telling ME that i could NOT do it alone-that i HAD to learn the importance of working with others to achieve a common goal. that's where i parked my mind... been there ever since and proud to have done so.

any mufucka that can't get pussy in college = pure simp. idiot. numb nuts. :smh: to pledge based solely on the promise of getting pussy = pure idiocy.

basically, it boils down to this:

in college, we networked to do things for others outside the university, to party, to CRASH other mufuckas parties :D , and of course to help each other in school.

after college in the grad chapter, we network to build-up the local community thru politics or whatever, to make $$$ from working with each other, to provide positive role models, etc.

Yes..

Frat is way bigger than college.. You may get alot out of it physically, meaning women, in college, but alumni is where you get the most out of it, professionally... Wouldnt trade it for the world.. If you are still talking about college and how the chapters in your school were acting which made you not want to join, blah blah blah, then you did not do enough research on the actual lifetime commitment, service, and benifit of that particular Fraternity. Even though the image portayed on campus by a certain frat may have not been to your liking, most are dedicated to the the guidelines of what the frat was established on by their forefathers..

Its just sad that alot of negative opinions are coming from people on the outside who really have not looked into the good that these organizations have done/do as a whole. Stereo typing is wrong on all levels.. But alas, we as a people love to bring each other down, so its not suprising. Im not trying to change minds, i could care less.. But if your gonna bash, at least I could share my experiance which will contradict your opinion..

And on that gay shit, well every frat and sorority have their share. They are not more evident in one frat than another. One campus may have some Kappas who are suspect and another campus may have Ques or Alphas.. That shit is running rampid worldwide, not just frats.. We cant stop it nor can we avoid it. It is what it is.

Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated

Had to read that TWICE, Wish all of us could be the same...

fuck No

that shyt broke me down and made me a better person by building me up

the lessonsi learned on line will stay with me forever

the reason frats are so fuxed up now is older bruhs dont really associate with the younger bruhs and show them how the organization is to be run

mf think this shyt is a gang any fool can take an ass whippin its what you learn after that makes you better

I felt to disrespected to continue so I said money was an issue. I have a ton of respect for the frat but I will whip half of the actives in the chapter's ass.

What is the worst feeling you had while online?

Worst thought (i.e,these bastards are trying to kill me?)

Was it over around the time you thought or you had no idea?

Physically? - NO

Emotionally? - NO

Mentally? - Yes... The lessons learned are life long assets that can be directly applied to many personal and business situations. If you've been properly pledged (any fraternity), you know what I am talking about.

Worst feeling on line? - Not knowing what the fuck was going on and why the hell was I doing this stupid shit!

Tired as fuck and still got to keep my grades up!

Worst thoughts? "Why am I letting these Nicca's do this shit when I can kick all their asses?"... Only after crossing the "Burning" sands, and YES I did burn, was this thought or question answered.

Would I do it all again... Yes...as long as I don't know what the fuck I'm doing....

Pledging is just like anything else...You make a decision, a commitment, and you must keep your commitment no matter how much dumb shit you have to put up with... Much like having a professional career, car note, and a mortgage kicking yo ass every month... No matter how much shit you have to take from your Boss, you take that shit until you can do something else... Same shit applies to pledging..

Man I usually respect your posts... but man you generalizing a whole fraternity based on the few individuals on your campus. There are almost 200,000 Kappas in the world.

Now of course sonme cats join a fraternity that they see themselves fitting into based on stereotype. But trust you get out of any organiaztion what you put into it.

I am proud to be a Kappa Man, but it does not define who I am. I got some frat bruhs who I would not waste my spit on.... and I have others that I would die for.

I got FRIENDS who are QUES that I will lay down my life for ... and cats who did not pledge anything that I am very close to.

Make your own decisions based on what you desire.. just don't fall into the B.S. no matter what organization you are part of. Greek or NOT

Also, after you pledge and graduate, every Greek is your common ground brother....Only weak ass Niccas that couldn't pledge or make it through, come up with all the dumb shit about the fraternities differences...

Bitter mutha fuckas just need to tuck their tiny tail and squirrel nuts between their legs and shut the fuck up...
