Chief Engineer, CCTV - Cleveland Cavaliers (Cleveland, Ohio)


TYPE OF POSITION: Full-time, salaried, benefit eligible
RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for maintaining proper operation of all CCTV and Video Production Systems. Includes, but not limited to main control room, editing suites, DTV room, “Zoo” room, z-panel locations, radio room, TV studio, A/V playback room and practice facility. Helps to coordinate transmission of all satellite and fiber line interview requests and press conferences, and serves as game night lead technician for all NBA games and other selected arena events.


Serve as main technical advisor on the installation and operation of all current and future TV and video production equipment in CCTV tech center, including eventual transition to HD
Have complete understanding of arena cabling system which includes main control room, editing suites, DTV room, “Zoo” room, radio room, matrix room, TV studio, NBA tape retrieval room, and arena z-panels
Serve as the on site technician for NBA in arena scoreboard shows and other selected arena events and help coordinate the Audio/Video Termination Room (“zoo”) usage for local telecasts originating during games and responsible for audio and video feeds between TV trucks and control room
Provide technical support for all satellite and fiber interview requests and press conferences originating from the building and practice facility
Oversee staff of assistant to chief engineer and other free lance and part time technical support help
Schedule regular maintenance on all CCTV equipment, and maintain proper working operation of main control room, radio room, and editing suites
Repair or coordinate outside vendor support repair of all equipment
Assist in development of annual production and business plans, including capital item recommendations
REQUIREMENTS: Five years experience serving as engineer of video production truck, in arena system, or television station. Must have extensive knowledge of all existing types of audio and video equipment as well as new technologies, with a heavy focus on HD. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills a must! Ability to work effectively and independently on multiple projects. Knowledge of current CCTV systems helpful. Word, Excel, and Lotus Notes computer experience necessary
