To find a lifetime "partner," to have children and to lead a COMPLETE/fulfilling life. What else is there??

If he had any real intelligence he wouldn't want to get married. There is no benefit to getting married if you are a self sufficient man. The concept of "love" gets old real quick. The way I see it is women put extreme pressure on a man to get married because once they are married they know they are set. Once kids are born, they have guaranteed money....Child support, alimony, they keep the house etc in a divorce. The only person who will lose in a marriage is the man.

Huh??? Without a true emotional committment and a legal "partnership," none of that works for very long and it has little value. Having kids outside of marriage is a disaster (which the black community should be well aware of). If you wanna run around and be a footloose, uncommitted man-whore, fine. Just please don't burden society with any kids.
 
I dont really know where I stand on the issue. There's a part of me that would like to experience being married but then again being married is like being in a life-time loan. Kids, mortages, her bills, your bills,college education it'll never end. A friend of mine got married because he got the chic married and he didnt want his son to grow up with out a father like he did but he's not happy but he's sticking with it.

Again, I ask, what does marriage have to to with emotional commitment? Having kids outside of commitment is disastrous, not outside of marriage. It's not about being a man-whore, it's about protecting your future interest by not tying yourself to legal obligations. I am all for pairing, commitment, life time partnership, etc, etc.,

dude women are making more than men today so she would have as much o lose if they divorce so why not? Married couple get tax breaks and having a second income coming in will make your life alot easier

Maybe women are making more than YOU, but I haven't met many who make more than me...and I'm not one of bgol's 7 fig nig peeps. Anyway if children are in the equation, the women keep the children and the house. Child support has to be paid to the custodial parent which 95% of the time will be the mother. Like I said before, there is no reason for a sane man to get married.
