Why No School Should Be Named After Booker T. Washington

Bruh, you make it seem like they wanted to do that shit. Whites didn't believe that blacks should own anything, especially land. They were demanded to hand it over to white men, and those that refused to give it up were threatened with death, and those that didn't "ditch" their land, were hanged, shot, or burned alive.

My relatives didn’t “ditch” their land in Forsyth County, Georgia, they got ran off.

Also many trades oppressive racism and violence for a little better life up north

Dude I was just speaking in reference to this thread title and what was already said;I made a statement and purposely left a lot of things open for comments like yours which I didn't dive into because this specifically isn't what the thread was about, there was no need to go there. What you said is true, they didn't ditch the land, they were forced out of it and if they did have land I nor anyone within reason wouldn't aspect someone to be happy with having anything to do with land, hard labor work or anything of the sorts for many generations to come, rightfully so.

The disconnect between the house negro and the field negro, lets be honest most slaves that were freed, ran smack dab into the worse segregation and most weren't going to go to college and be straight A students,it was going to take generations after for that;My great grandfather & grandmother both could not read,my grandmother & grandfather could,my mother & father could,I could,my child will be able and hopefully maybe he'll be able to read three different languages....

Booker T was one thing in front of white audiences and quite another thing to black folks behind closed doors. It is specifically why minister Farrakhan sent his daughter to Tuskegee.

I am a legacy of what Booker T accomplished as an Engineering graduate of Tuskegee University.

W.E.B. Du Bois and Booker T actually had ongoing secret correspondence with each other. Everything is not what it seems, especially not during a time when black folk had to be slick and sneaky to accomplish things for our people.

That’s straight out of the mouth of Tariq. ‘Playing the game.’:hmm:

I guess this famous quote was all part of their plan behind the scenes, right?

‘There is a class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs-partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs.’

Sounds like the very charge black conservatives level against black liberals. Although there’s some truth to this quote, they’re literally doing the same thing.

Booker T "playing the game" helped uplift GENERATIONS of black people. GENERATIONS.

Funny how that above quote can apply to your god Tariq since he picked up the black victim/white supremacy hustle.

W.E.B and Booker T were both correct based on their world they lived in. DuBois may have be one of the smartest men of his generation. But he lived in the northeast.

Booker T lived in the heart of the south. Most black folks were unschooled and undereducated. He had to play the game. My opinion is that he was working to get masses educated before taking that next step for full equality
