Straight up HNIC, I NEVER get involved in board politics. Matter of fact, I think BGOL is a much larger phenomenon than most can appreciate(I suspect you're aware as well). Which in my mind makes the 'Blunt' exposure incident . . . a small thing in my mind. And NO, I don't agree with exposing home addresses, kids, etc. THERE ARE LIMITS.


I'll make 4 points, and appeal to your sense of reason and see where that leads us.

1. Trolls exist on every board and blog, and on those boards (for example http://www.bautforum.com/ they issue swift justice to these trolls, shit talkers and spammer as they have a damn near zero tolerance policy . . . over there).

HOWEVER, something ORIGINAL and unique emerged organically (in a social sense) on THIS very board that distinguishes it from all other boards, (related to shit talkers, spammers and trolls). Adults on this board policed themselves, and through a UNIQUE mixture of creativity, technical skill, and comedic genius extrapolated from various regions came up with 'OCKING'!!!

This emergent practice IS the VACCINE, and APPROPRIATE PRESCRIPTION MEDICINE against the awful practice of TROLLING.

In a world where folks are FREE to TROLL and FLAME with impunity, is it not reasonable to expect retaliation against such a heinous and sad practice? Shouldn't paying members expect from monitors and mods the REMEDY OF A BAN??

My point is simple. If you're NOT gonna ban trolling, spamming, and shit talking with a zero tolerance policy (especially since you've said that the board needs 'characters'); Why then unfairly target the counterpart to trolling, which is uncensored 'ocking'? ESPECIALLY for one person. And remember, you're the one who set up the Ocking HALL of FAME.


2. Censoring will create more unnecessary work for you and the mods. Especially since 'ocking' doesn't occur every day. As well, trolling has been tolerable BECAUSE there is a board SUPPORTED prescription for it. AND it makes the job of mods easier and more entertaining . . . I imagine.

3. THIS board is different from other boards BECAUSE of it's differences, not in spite of it. And ONE lone individual, male or female, regardless of race, should be not be allowed to troll with impunity, and be exempt from the consequences of THEIR actions.


4. You ALSO said that you weren't implementing any new changes/rules. By establishing a Ocking hall of fame, you sanctioned the practice. Moreover, 'ocking' doesn't even rise the the level of 'Online Bullying', (which is for children). So how come the overprotection for one ADULT member at the insult to many other contributing ADULT members?

But if the 'donations' didn't kill the board, CHOKING the board through censorship WILL. And you also made the argument that the majority of the board don't care about the 'Blunt' drama . . . But you also KNOW that it's a MINORITY of the board that keeps this joint hoppin' like jumpin' jacks.

This is what makes BGOL, BGOL. You could've deleted the addresses and last names and allowed the ocking to continue with no harm done, save Duece who had to be banned on prinicple. Blunt has been trolling for over a DECADE. Justice needed to be done. This really could've been handled better. Unless Blunt finances the board, the ocking should continue. It will be EPIC.
