Who are the most intellegent, well-spoken rappers ?????

na jus clowning i would have to say krs-1 by far that nigga on another level

:smh:

People want to put this Hitchens/Mos Def shit in the history books... How was Mos set up? Hitchens didn't even go at him until the overtime segment when he started out like an idiot asking basic ass questions... It's not like it was constructed to pit those two against each other.

Before you shit on Afroman keep in mind that he was able to parlay his one hit wonder status into a successful yet modest independent career. He also managed to obtain the rights to his first album from Warner Brothers. I don't know how the fuck he pulled it off, especially since the publishing for "Because I Got High" will be worth millions in the future. At any rate it was a VERY smart business move that more rappers need to pay heed to.

You gotta love a 50 cent interview

I'm in a certain space in my life, where I can actually create the actual material with aggressive content. I kill my competition with my actual consistency.

actual, space, consistency, aggressive content are his favorite words

Don't forget The General Public.

I've never heard a 50 Cent interview where didn't say the general public

KRS-ONE - the teacher
Paris - The militant bussiness man
Chuck D - The politician
Buckshot - The street smart bussiness man
TI - The hustler
Talib Kweli -Book smart
Jean Grae and Luda - The lyricsis

I am not trying to diss some of the rappers posted on here but most of these picks are dead wrong. The OP brought up Christopher Hitchens. As arrogant as he is the fucking guys is a road scholar. Road scholars are reserved for just a few "rappers" and a few people.

Folks that come to mind

KRS
Chuck D
and then you have to go to scholars...... Cornell West and folks like that

This is not a fair post. A lot of rappers are well versed on black history of blacks in the US. KRS and Chuck are well versed in a lot of different shit

Looking through thread...Saw Gucci's picture, and backed the fuck out of the thread...

We always will have one ignant mofo...:smh::lol:

it seems that most rappers that have successfully crossed over into mainstream acting, are more well spoken than those that haven't. sure KRS and company drops knowledge and articulate shit well....but dude needs to calm down. some of these niggaz know they shit and speak truth...but still remain ghetto....like they got somethin to prove. there are certain ways to conduct yourself and your speech when giving interviews on important and relevant issues. I'd rather listen to Will Smith, Ice Cube, or Mos Def in a sit down interview on CNN, than i would Nas, Rick Ross, or T.I.

I would add Kanye to that first list....but he throws temper tantrums and cries too fuckin much.

The only thing he talks intelligently about is how the dress especially classy gay and the best way to get the taste of cum out your mouth. :smh:

Please don't look up to rappers for intellectual output. They're not as smart as you might think they are.

Read a philosophy book.

I think we can all agree that the old-school rappers were overall a little more intelligent than the new "clown" rappers. The "gangsta" rappers were mostly intelligent guys.

Ice-T is a really smart guy. You don't believe me, read "The Ice Opinion", listen to "O.G. Original Gangsta". This guy dabbles in beat poetry, social commentary, militant Black power, and street conversation. He was a beast in his day. Has not been another one like him since.

Ice Cube is another really smart, respected guy. Only Jews and White folks had a problem with him. His greatest quote? "White people are like snakes, some are poisonous and can kill you, other ones are harmless, like garden snakes". Dude was sayin' that, while he was hangin' with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and shit.

Even Eazy-E was considered to be smarter than HE let on. He would do all that crazy shit in person, but in private was shy and intelligent

Scarface is a really smart guy, but sometimes "ghettos" it up in public.

Dr. Dre

2pac of course, but he was more open with his militant, Black Panther, revolutionary side, that's why he usually ends up on these "smartest rappers" lists.

Paris

Will Smith is a really smart dude, as in school smart. He scored an 800 or something close to that on the language part of his SATs.

There's a lot of smarter rappers than you guys would think. In public they "dumb it down". Old-schoolers didn't have to do that. Chuck D, KRS, Paris, Poor Righteous Teachers, Ice Cube and a lot of those guys used to get props for being smart.

You just had to put your input into it right? You're the reason people hate atheists. You read the title of the thread. Input or GTFO

I cosign and most of the names mentioned so far.

Except Nas and Jay...I am a huge fan of both, but in interviews they both lack their mic presence, especially Nas.

Chuck D should definately be on this list.

Co-fuckin-sign...His name should have been listed FIRST.

I still can't forgive KRS for saying "unrational" and "dramatical"
