which death from The Wire affected you the most?

Holder’s introduction of his desire for more “Wire” wasn’t exactly coming from left field. Pierce said he’d approached Simon in the past about a possible “Wire” movie that would serve as a prequel to the series.

“You see so many of the characters dying, all these beloved characters,” Pierce said. “You’d see them in the movie prequel, (Avon) Barksdale and Stringer (Bell), getting started and empowered.”

Pierce added that Samuel L. Jackson had expressed interest in playing the chief of the crime organization that the series’ drug lords would replace. The early days of Bunk Moreland (Pierce’s character), Jimmy McNulty and others on the law-enforcement side would be another plot thread in the prospective film.

Alas, Simon has nixed the notion so far.

“David said, ‘You’re getting a little long in the tooth” for a prequel, Pierce said.

Responding publicly to Holder’s request later in the week, Simon said restarting "The Wire" for a sixth season would come with conditions.

“The Attorney General's kind remarks are noted and appreciated,” wrote Simon in an email to The Times of London. “I've spoken to Ed Burns and we are prepared to go to work on season six of ‘The Wire’ if the Department of Justice is equally ready to reconsider and address its continuing prosecution of our misguided, destructive and dehumanising drug prohibition.”

America's War on Drugs, Simon continued, is “nothing more or less than a war on our underclass, succeeding only in transforming our democracy into the jailingest nation on the planet. This is ‘The Wire's’ argument. So if we are being urged by the nation's leading law enforcement officer to write more of the same, it seems appropriate to make some mention of the fact.

Without a doubt it would be Bodie. Youngin had heart and was a loyal dude. The coldest line from season 4 was when Mcnutty said "you're a soldier Bodie" The nigga Bodie didn't even look up while eating his sandwich and said "hell yeah". Mcnutty just looked at youngin like this dude is dead serious.

riding w/ him for lunch got bodie killed.

Oh yea fuck lil kev. By fuckin up, he caused the downfall of Randy and was indirectly responsible for bodie getting killed.

I still think the worst was the delivery woman. She had done absolutely nothin and what made it worse was that Chris helped and smiled at her before shooting.

Her and the stripper at the party.

did anyone mention the security guard they killed?

the bug-eyed chick who they paid off for deAngelo.

i just went & bought season 1-4, watching again now!

Yeah she was mentioned.

Stringer had her killed just to tie up any loose ends, same reason he had Wallace killed.

I believe that I said the security guard that stepped to but didn't challenge Marlo @ that corner store.

Dude could've gotten a beat down and would have gotten the message, killing him wasn't necessary but it showed just how much of a sociopath Marlo was.

The world was either his way or no way @ all!

However peeps brought up that delivery chick that, after giving her a hand to get into the store, Chris turned around and shot point blank just to set up Omar.

She was the one most undeserving to die.

Talk about wrong place, wrong time!

Her and the stripper at the party.

Even though it was f'd up how they handled her body, the stripper died of an O/D @ her own hand, nobody killed her, she basically killed herself.

Kids, let that be a lesson, "Just say NO to drugs!"

Any woman that phat dying has an affect on me.

What about Wallace, yo?

Wallace has been mentioned throughout this thread.

In my opinion Wallace had no one to blame but himself.

D REALLY put himself out covering for Wallace and letting Wallace take time off, Wallace in return started talking to the police, remember he went down south and the police knew where he was.

Wallace's dumb ass just had to come back like everything was all good but that was when things started getting hot for Avon so Stringer ordered Wallace killed just to tighten up loose ends, he remembered Wallace freaking out over the brutality of Omar's boyfriend Brandon's body.

That order came down with killing the female security guard that changed her testimony as well, Stringer gave Bodie the "work" so that Bodie could climb the "corporate" ladder of the Barksdale organization.

The two who had nothing to do with nothing, the kid caught by a stray shot and the delivery woman that Chris killed after helping her get into the store just for the purpose of setting Omar up stick out most to me with the security guard @ the corner store that spoke to Marlo having honorable mention.

He didn't need to be killed, a beatdown would have sufficed.
